I was fortunate enough to make it there on Sat. It was cold and at times, the rain was pouring. Yet, there were people who stood out in the rain the whole time I was there (about an hour) with flags showing their support for our troops.

During one conversation I had, the anti-war groups were mentioned, and some Viet Nam vets made mention that the VN war kept going because of the anti-war protests going on at that time, and that the same thing is happening now.

Another thing they mentioned was that the anti-war groups weren't really "anti" war, they were anti-America. This is true and can easily be seen by those who attend the anti-war rallies. Communists, PLO and Hamas supporters, etc. This is something that I have seen as well, but am glad others have noticed it too.

Wish I could make it to the GoE in DC, but have to go help my in-laws move into their new place. I'll be there in spirit though.

A bad habit of conservative bloggers: if you don’t know, assume. If you don’t like what they say, they hate America. Opposing the war in Iraq is the same as blowing up recruiting centers.

And a bad habit of liberal bloggers is: if you don't know, blame Bush. When that fails, use yelling and ad hominem attacks in a lame attempt to put your opponent on the defensive. When that fails, have a riot and call it "dissent." When all else fails, get in a drive by bicycle and drop off a bomb at the site that offends your seditious sensibilities.

As for "assumption," do the terms "death pimps," "assassins," and an almost automatic willingness to believe (dare I say assume?) that all American soldiers are out to kill Iraqis, shoot babies and run over helpless dogs?

Seriously, if hatred of the honorable military was not the reason for the bombing, what could be? Did the bomber miss the pizza shop he (excuse me, he or she. Don't want to assume anything, now do we?) really meant to hit? The loud music from within the recruiting office? Or perhaps feelings of inferiority induced in liberals when confronted by real heroes?

Should I assume that you won't answer as usual? LOL!

You're a clueless wonder as always, lgm. I love the subtle nuance liberals put on Iraq support these days. The "I support the troops but not the war" garbage has gotten old, especially for military spouses like me.

Opposing the war does nothing for our men and women in uniform but make things more difficult for them. You can live in your academic tower of blithful ignorance and still never understand why people go into the military in the first place.

It's nice to see you exercising your troll and dash routine again here, lgm. Send our regards to the Troll Liberation Front, okay?

I wish I could have attended this. There are upstate NY'ers like me that won't forget. My father served in the Navy during the 60's and my husband is active duty now. Thank God for folks like this or I'd lose all hope.

I know I'm not alone and even though I may be one of the "few" who still support the Iraq War, I'm glad that there are those who can speak out for the military. Thank you Eagles! :)

I remember back in the day when retirees would stop by our recruiting office just to tell war stories and tell bawdy jokes--oooh, those were the days! We had our hands full with anti-Vietnam war hippies who didn't just threaten, they killed recruiters, blew up staff cars, and physically threatened recruits. Love the GOE and appreciate they're united front against these traitors. Eagles Up!!!
LGM #13 (Appropriate number for a troll): You, sir, are uninformed as you have never made the sacrifice of serving your country in uniform--time for you to go away from these posters who aren't "assuming" anything.

i would have been there if i could have been, my wife had to work so i had to watch my 3 kids

i gave them a honk and thumbs up but unfortunately i didn’t have the time to stop

One thing you can do, if you can't afford to make it(I live in MN) or don't have time for the concentrated gatherings, stop by your local recruiting station with some gift certificates for coffee or lunch. Tell them straight up you appreciate the job they're doing and that the stuff going on in Berkeley and New York is BS. Sometimes a little one to one is just as good as a big show.

Trolling again---lgm!?????
On another note:
I understand that D. Fienstein got one of the "...we won..." letters. She is one of my CA Senators and is from the socialist SF Bay area. I wonder why the 'bomber group' sent one to her?
