It is unknown if the men with the explosives were al Qaeda, but they were planting a bomb and that was enough. Many terrorists murder only for money. Like hit men. They might have nothing against the victim. It’s just business. Although understanding enemy motivations is key to winning a war, out on the battlefield, such considerations can become secondary, as divining the motives of a would-be killer is less important than stopping him.

Some Politicians could get this, but I’m not holding my breath.

On another note: Mr. Yon didn’t intend this reaction on my part but I feel it all the same. In one instance, I feel tremendous pride in our military men and women at the same time I feel the bitter sting of anger. Americans seem to be more concerned about the economy, food prices, oil prices, the sub-prime meltdown, even the elections but not as much about the excellent work our fine men and women are doing over in Iraq.

I’m just angry that Americans have turned their backs on Iraq because a)it costs too much, b)there seems to be no political progress on the part of Iraqis, c)they were “lied” to, d) there’s corruption, or e)if it doesn’t bleed it doesn’t lead. What I’m most shocked about is how many Americans want us out of Iraq but aren’t even involved in the war.

When Americans get their priorities straight will be the day this country turns itself around.

Apparently at least five terrorists were killed, while at least one escaped, though he probably needs new eardrums and might ask for a raise before trying that again.

I love it! A raise…lol….that’s great!
