What Spitzer was up to today before the news broke
This morning, NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer had been scheduled to speak to the Family Planning Advocates’ 31st Annual Conference. The abortion racketeers are seeking more money. And he was preparing to push legislators to do their bidding–before he was forced to cancel his appearance.
As payback to his abortion industry supporters, Spitzer had supported “the Reproductive Health & Privacy Protection Act (RHAPP)” under the guise of “codifying Roe v. Wade.” It would:
* Allow non-doctors to perform abortions, including a dentist, a social worker, or a health care practitioner.
* Let girls as young as 12 obtain abortions throughout all 9 months of pregnancy without ever having to tell their parents.
* Force health practitioners or Catholic hospitals to lose their medical licenses if they don’t perform abortions since they would be denying women the “fundamental right” of an abortion.
Greg Mueller of CRC e-mails:
This is only the beginning. The Catholic Church in NY is already slamming Spitzer and New Yorkers for Parental Rights, an independent, newly formed group in opposition to the bill is about to launch a statewide campaign with ads, phone calls and a YouTube video to make sure RHAPP never makes it out of the legislature. It is currently in the State Senate.
There’s more info on the bill here.
Perhaps today’s news will knock the wind out of its sails.
That would be a life-saving silver lining.

Perhaps today’s news will knock the wind out of its sails.
lets hope
A dentist or social worker???!!!??? Since when is a fetus similar to tartar buildup?
Geez…
Despite being “pro-choice”, I disagree with all three of the above.
Wow. God sure works in mysterious ways. Here it seems was about to be enacted something serious bad and what d’ ya know?!? BAM – The Spitz goes down.
Ya just gotta wonder.
If this news does derail Spitzer’s abortion train, that will truly be a blessing. I don’t think anyone commenters on MM who are in favor of abortion would support this frightening list:
Well, there you go zeroangel. I was thinking of you when I posted my comment above.
Guess his personal habits required cleaning up?
Correct.
RaisedRight:
*smile*
1 and 2 are just insane.
3 Flies in the face of my ideas about free market.
Should we now refer to the guv as “the first john”
Was the hooker illegal/ and did she have a driver’s liscense ?
If Gov. Spitzer supports abortions all the way up to 9 months, is there any type of abortion he would not support? Why stop at 9 months? I can’t help but wonder if he would support a retroactive abortion of Eliot Spitzer should his mother regret his birth?
“I have acted in a way that violates my obligation to my family, and that violates my — or any sense of right and wrong.” – Spitzer
So, um, what is his sense of right or wrong? Apparently it is only wrong to him if you get caught.
I agree Papa Louie – retroactive abortion for this slug.
This man is beyond despicable. How could anyone in their right mind pass such a law? It’s in the state senate, but Republicans hold that by a very slim majority. I just hope this gets thrown out with Spitzer.
Time to revise that old joke:
Q: What did Gov. Spitzer do when the abortion bill crossed his desk?
A: He paid it.
In addition, as noted on a link at LGF, just two days ago, the Governor and his wife had proclaimed March to be “Women’s History Month:”
http://wcbstv.com/local/womens.history.month.2.672996.html
Gov. Spitzer, Wife Mark Women’s History Month
NEW YORK (AP) ― Today is “International Women’s Day,” and Gov. Eliot Spitzer and his wife Silda Wall Spitzer are paying tribute to women who played a role in the fight for justice and equality in the U.S.
The Governor says that New York women were and continue to be leaders in the struggle, organizing the historic 1848 Women’s Rights Convention in Seneca Falls and tirelessly working to change the Constitution until they won the right to vote less than a century ago.
He noted that New York was the place where the first female doctor was appointed, and where tens of thousands of women first unionized.
He says the list of notable women in New York history is as rich and diverse as New York itself, and proclaimed March 2008 “Women’s History Month.”
(perhaps Spitzer can give a seminar on the lives of Fannie Hill and Texas Guinian…or co-teach a law school class on ethics with former NJ Gov. McGreevey).
What an outstanding fine man.

Boy, seems Hillary’s team is packed with Adulterers. Bill, Vi Agragossa, and now Spitzer. Does he still remain a super delegate for Hillary?
I’m starting a betting pool on when this scandal will soon become a future Law and Order episode. I’m guessing 3 months?
Well certainly allowing prostitution to reign free allows women to have free choice. a very democratic choice for women………???One that he and his family must approve of…..
that sealed complaint couldn’t have come at a better time!!
He’ll wheel out the standard democrat defense: It was his private life.
i don’t get it though. there are places that are within a short flight where prostitution’s legal. if one must hire a ‘working gal (or guy),’ why not do it where their work is legal and you have privacy rights?
and on the eve of Valentines Day is particularly…cynical.
my husband took 2 flights and a donkey to get back home in time for Valentine’s Day.
He is “Love Potion Number 9!!!”
I wonder if Norman Hsu was “Love Potion Number 1-8″
The AP report says it includes other wealthy defendants. The other shoe hasn’t dropped yet…interesting to see who else was involved in this so-called “ring”.
There’s no deodorant strong enough to remove this stink. Throw him away. He can now have all the unprotected sex he wants….:):)
Yes # 4 is correct-God does work in mysterious ways.
That’s just plain maddness!!!!!!
We’re just treating babies like root canals now.
Spitzer seems to be what the Democrats are all about, John. Why would they revoke his Super Delegate status for what they consider a minor infraction?
Well, he was involved with a female-dominated business, I guess, in the prostitution ring. He was just doing his part to empower them in their entreprenurial endeavors.
Thanks Michelle,
I felt bad for they guy.
Now I don’t.
You know, all joking aside, at least for a moment, I do feel very badly for Silda Spitzer and their daughters being caught in the middle of his infidelity.
Yeah, but they will change a few details, as they usually do, like making him to be a conservative, pro-life Republican, etc.
Insane. Pro-choicers often argue that illegalizing abortion would lead to a “back-alley” black market, but here we see such an obsession with aborting fetuses that some pro-choicers are attempting to legitimize abortions done by folks other than MDs.
I wouldn’t trust a social worker to chew gum and walk at the same time, much less perform a medical procedure on me. All of a sudden the coat hanger is back in vogue?
These people are so single-minded that somehow in their eyes this perceived right to an abortion must trump every single other right, including those of parents. If you want to go around arguing for a lack of government interference in the lives of individuals, in other words “rights,” you can’t go around promoting legislation that takes away the rights of others as well.
This right, again, is so important in their eyes that the right of others NOT to engage in such practices should be superseded? So, women have a right to a choice, but doctors and hospitals do not, especially for religious reasons???
My God.
When I think of this Bill – I think of this.

Spitzer goes to rehab, do I have any takers?
Spitzer tried to go after the CPCs in New York at the bidding of his abortionist masters.
But I guess when he’s also buying whores, there are also personal reasons why he was so gung ho about babycide.
Don’t worry Barry (32)… before too long he will be teaching an ethics class
for the state university & preparing for his 2012 Presidential run (unless the feds invoke the Mann Act, ooops) & his family will do just fine on the book & movie.
Divine justice if you ask me.
Gov. McGreevey (D-NJ) has been knock from his throne as the worst governor in the tri-state region.
The weasel is dead. Long live the weasel!
OMG, I just compared a human being to a weasel.
“Lord, I apologize for that right there, and please be with the starvin’ pygmies down there in New Guinea, A-men.”
“* Allow non-doctors to perform abortions, including a dentist, a social worker, or a health care practitioner.”
I thought Roe v. Wade was going to rid us of the “back alley abortionists” of the 50’s and 60’s! Anyone ever see a movie called “Dirty Dancing”?
Maybe this will be a turning point in soon to be former governor Spitzer’s life. While he might not become conservative, hopefully he will recognize his sin and turn towards Christ. God is at work here. This revelation will probably go a long way to saving a number of babies. Hopefully, it will also turn around the life of a sinful person and make him turn toward God.
But remember – outlawing abortion would force women into back alleys with rusty coat hangers.
“Safe, legal, and rare” my you-know-what.
I am getting to wonder if the governor would support Post Birth Abortion to women and 12 yr old girls? I will not be surprized when this happens cause after all you have to give the women the choice to get rid of something inconvienent.
But a California court strikes down a parent’s ability to homeschool their own child.
It truly is a liberal world…we just live in it.
And remember, Spitz almost gave drivers licenses to illegals, who loot, rape and murder. Ofcourse, law, order and civic socity means nothing to this power-hungry, corrupt man and his family.
Once again: We have 30MM illegals because of 35 years of establishment abortion policy that killed 30MM babies, many of whom would be on the tax rolls today. We “need” these illegals to replace our dead children – all as a part of public policy. What a corrupt, wicked society we live in. Oh how the mighty have fallen…..
The dude is a pig. Good thing I’m not his wife. There wouldn’t be anything left of him for the press to chew on.
Spitzer claimed to protect the little guy.Yet, with his support of the abortion industry,he was really going after the smallest of us.
Michelle reports here that Spitzer was recently promoting the Reproductive Health & Privacy Protection Act which proposes the following:
Interesting. Wikipedia reports the following concerning Spitzer’s selective prosecution of pro-life organizations in 2002:
Sounds like Spitzer needs to “Abort” his job as Gov…since he has to pay hookers to keep “Little Eliot” happy.
So if he’s #9, who else is on the Emperor’s Club list? Or perhaps more importantly, how did the gov get hooked up with this list? Was it some lobbyist perk? A union perk? If so, what union? A party favor for towing some party line? Are other Dem’s hiding and hoping it dies here?
Inquiring minds ought to want to know — where is the PRESSSSSident on digging deeper into this story? Surely, there would be two or three more levels of stuff out floating around if Spitzer were a pub.
Bottomline, this story should have more legs than is worth trading down for a simple resignation. This is chapter 9, what about 1-8, etc, etc…
