I didn’t see a bulldozer in the clip either. That was a backhoe or an excavator.

    Our values

    * Trust is the foundation of the BBC: we are independent, impartial and honest.
    * Audiences are at the heart of everything we do.
    * We take pride in delivering quality and value for money.
    * Creativity is the lifeblood of our organisation.
    * We respect each other and celebrate our diversity so that everyone can give their best.
    * We are one BBC: great things happen when we work together(From the BBC website)(emphasis added)

About says it all, doesn’t it? They go on and on about how fair and impartial they are. Sounds like the “fishwrap of record.” Trouble is, they actually believe it!

Since they are part of British Government, wouldn’t it be safe to say they give the official viewpoint of the UK?

When the British Navy kicked the BBC off of one of their combat ships I knew they were no longer to be trusted as a reliable source for world news. We are really blessed to have the new media to gain reliable reports on what is really going on in the world. Too bad British subjects have to pay their television taxes to support this corrupt organization.

Is there anyone out there with some integrity? I am so tired of the news media. Stories are doctored, photos are doctored, aliases never checked out, and the print media going down hill fast. When will we get it straight?

For #1, if they are going to use stock footage, shouldn’t they use something that fits the script? They need stock footage of a bulldozer! Or they could change the script to “backhoe” which is what it is.

There’s a reason why I don’t get my news anymore from the dinosaur media - this story about the BBC is just another reminder.

How fitting and yet how sad to recall Edmund Burke’s observation that “There were three Estates in Parliament, but in the Reporters Gallery yonder, there sat a fourth Estate more important far than they all.”

What, one wonders, would Burke think of today’s notion of journalism as the Fourth Estate? Perhaps this: that like the BBC in this case, too many journalists have abdicated their honorable role as objective observers of the political estates - in favor of a stakeholder’s interest as players rather than reporters.

What we are witnessing of late with Michelle and others like her who vigilantly and tirelessly point out the errors, omissions and bias of the “mainstream” media, is the creation of what amounts to a “Fifth Estate”: the conservative blogosphere.

Those who say that Michelle isn’t a “journalist” are missing the point entirely. She’s the future of objective journalism. She may not be of the Old Breed, but nowadays that’s a badge of distinction rather than a demerit.

    Quis custodiet custodies ipsos?

    Michelle, that’s who.

The BBC MidEast correspondent stated that she cried when she learned that Yasser Arafat had died. She even admitted that he admired Yasser Arafat so much that she did not believe that there was another side to the Arab-Israeli dispute. Lately BBC radio has been defending open immigration of radical Muslims into the UK. When the horrific London bombings took place, the BBC would not use the word “terrorist” and would not use the words “Arab” and “Muslim”.

We have our own BBC here. It is called PBS. We pay for that out of our tax dollars. Here in Knoxville we call it the global warming channel.

“I have been dressed in what is an explosive belt, which the kidnappers say will be detonated if there is an attempt to storm the area,” Mr Johnston said. “They say they are ready to turn the hideout into what they describe as a death zone if there is an attempt to free me by force … It seems the answer is to return to negotiations, which I am told are very close to achieving a deal.”
