AG Mukasey doesn’t think we should execute any of the Gitmo detainees?

By see-dubya  •  March 14, 2008 05:54 PM

Wait’ll the Gitmo Lawyers get on this:

U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey said Friday he hopes the men charged with participating in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks aren’t executed if found guilty in order to avoid creating any martyrs.Mukasey said many terrorists want to be martyrs and that by sentencing them to death, U.S. authorities risk granting that wish. …

That’s…actually a risk I’m willing to take.

Mukasey said, however, that the punishment would be fitting if the accused are executed.

Mukasey won’t be making the decision, though. It’s up to the DoD.

I see a good pay per view event in this. Let’s make some money for the families that suffered on 9-11 and charge…oh $55 for each event? Anybody willing to pay to watch these punks bite it? For an added bonus, we can have cameras trained on all the liberal terrorist lovers that would be out there protesting.

This is disturbing because it assigns motive to people. Whether they (the charged terrorist) or thier supporters think one thing, or another, is immaterial.

No decision made should be elected based on what others think, or believe. Should you believe a course of action is in your best interest, then do so. No, do not entirely dismiss what others think, but let them know you understand they have opinions.

If you must do something unilaterally, and it is in your best interest, then do so.

The people responsible for 9/11 are guilty of almost 3,000 counts of Murder One. Personally I would love every one of them to get the Saddam Hussein treatment with a noose made of pig skin. Then we should put in a pig skin sack and feed the sharks just off shore of Gitmo. Sharks have to eat too! A pay per-view event would be an excellent way to raise funds for the victim’s families.

It explains why the DOJ isn’t going after the seditious traitors in the MSM, Code Pink, and other groups. No wonder it is open season on our military recruiters. Mukasey needs to resign and allow someone with the intestinal fortitude to put these mad dogs down. Muslim’s respect strength all you will do by showing mercy is show them how weak and soft Western Civilization has become and encourage more aggression. America should prove itself better than the countries that despise what we stand for. We should not stand for torture or capital punishment. Those evils are not necessary for either American justice or The War on Terror.

Do we act like Israel and trade dozens of convicted terrorists for a few of our soldiers? (Israel once traded 1150 prisoners for 3 kidnaped Israeli soldiers.) The more high-valued terrorists we keep alive, the greater the effort will be by our enemies to kidnap soldiers or other US citizens to be held for ransom. In other words, keeping high-profile terrorists alive puts our people at greater risk.

Another reason to execute the more dangerous of the lot is to prevent some judge or future president from releasing them. If a future president is predisposed to negotiate for peace, he/she may use our prisoners as bargaining tools. Does anyone believe that certain candidates for president would not release Gitmo prisoners in exchange for hollow promises for peace?

Pretty much! If the person(s) in question is captured on the battlefield fighting against the U.S. military, and is not an American citizen, then I think it’s safe to say that person is more than likely the enemy and in a world of trouble.

I wouldn’t execute them; rather they should have their Korans taken away and be given a diet of “food loaf” and be kept somewhere they can’t determine the correct direction to pray.

    I’m intrigued by that.

Lessee, stick em in a large domed enclosure never to see the unfiltered light of day again or open air. Embed glass fibers as skylight portals, but channeled and shuttered in the revolvable dome so that every day, East appears in a different place of the central “dayroom”.

Feed them unclean foods disguised as acceptable. And the list of possibilities go on. At least the world can’t condemn us for executing them.

On second thot, nah. The longer they’re left alive, the sooner some bleeding heart will release them in a fit of compassion and self-loathing. Off with their heads. As the koran sates, eye for eye…

Mexicans. Illegal immigrants — almost all Catholic.

Ah, yes, those folks. And where does it say in the Good Book that they can invade a country and scoff its God-ordained laws? Where does it say in the Good Book that they can masquerade as legal citizens by any means necessary, to include faking/stealing IDs, helping themselves to social services intended for rightful citizens? Need I go on? Doing wrong based on weak notions of social justice is plainly wrong. Better they channel their energies into reforming the politics of Mexico itself.

I’m curious if LGM or Rusty have examples of terror leaders that started preaching peace and compassion after captured terrorists were shown compassion? The statistics do lean heavily in the other direction in that 100% of executed terrorists fail to kill again.

Fixed it for you. They’re also in the process of of banning life sentences, too. You care what they think, I don’t. They’d be headed for extinction even without Militant Islam, they’ve created a society that can’t be bothered to maintain itself. I wont miss them.

“Why not us act in a civilized way and teach these guys a new language.”

Because we did that during the Clinton administration, and look where it got us.

“It is ideas — freedom, justice, equality.”

Yes, but these ideals do not extend to non-citizens – the U.S. Constitution is not a world document!

“Executing people without a fair trial is unamerican.”

Executing terrorist thugs captured on the battlefield and found guilty by a military tribunal, ensures there are Americans left alive to hold these types of discussions.

Wpuld someone care to remind me when we became a PR firm? I don’t seem to remember anywhere in the Constitution where there is a clause that says, “…so ling as we don’t look bad on the World Stage and don’t make anyone angry…”

I also don’t see any of these Islamic countries or Imams or Mosque Rats going around telling their people, “We should not go out and burn the American flag, burn those effigies, march out in the streets, hold up those signs calling for the deaths of thousands of innocent men, women and children, the destruction of Israel, America, Christianity, Judaism and others. It might just be bad P.R. as well as make America and Israel or Denmark angry at us”. or “Gee Mustaffa and Azziz…maybe we should not rape those women, and then blow up that schoold full of children along with ourselves. That might just give our religion a bad connotation in the World Stage as well as make people angry at us. Is this really the image we wish to portray? After all, sure, these are all Infidels and such, but if we cut off their heads with these dull blades, video tape the event to where you can hear them gurgling and screaming their last breaths on this earth, then put the video up onto the Internet for their families to witness, a truely heartless thing to do…how is that going to make us look?”

No, you just don’t see that happening, now do you? But leave it to Rusty, lgm and the other morons on the Left that troll around here to worry more about image over substance. “If you love your country you will blah blah blah…” Just what the HELL kind of nonsense is THAT?I swear lgm doesn’t even read his own rantings, because if they were to even make sense to him, I would be frightened.

I say fry these bastards. Bring back the firing squads. Put it o TV and do the Pay-Per-View event with all the proceeds going towards air conditioners for our troops in Iraq, or for their families or something worthwhile as that. Don’t just put the video on YouTube, let’s actually do something with it and make some money out of it that can benefit our men and women in uniform, as well as show those bastards that we mean business…

and televise the dipping of the bullets into the pigs blood just before the shooting as well.

Oops…no 72 virgins for Mohammed tonight.
