Busy day ahead for the anti-war mob; Update: Bush speaks, protesters obstruct; Update: Milwaukee recruitment center vandalized; Update: D.C. recruiting office attacked
Update 3/19 5:20pm Eastern: Via F/R, the 14th and L recruiting station in D.C., which has been targeted multiple times by anarchist thugs, is under attack again.
Update 3/19 3:02pm Eastern. Jonn Lilyea reports on the DC moronic convergence.
Update 3/19 1:30pm Eastern. Milwaukee recruitment center vandalized. More bragging here.
The damage:
Update 3/19 10:38am Eastern: Via USAT, here are excerpts of President Bush’s speech marking the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq…”No one would argue that this war has not come at a high cost in lives and treasure – but those costs are necessary when we consider the cost of a strategic victory for our enemies in Iraq. If we were to allow our enemies to prevail in Iraq, the violence that is now declining would accelerate – and Iraq could descend into chaos. Al Qaida would regain its lost sanctuaries and establish new ones – fomenting violence and terror that could spread beyond Iraq’s borders, with serious consequences to the world economy.”
…And WaPo has the latest on the anti-war mob’s activities…
About 9 a.m., one black-clad group of eight sat down in the intersection at 17th and L streets NW, roping themselves together with rubber tubing and blocking traffic. Police were using boltcutters and other tools to separate them from each other and make arrests. The intersection was closed to traffic until shortly after 10 a.m. At that point, the protesters began marching east on L Street.
After congregating at McPherson Square and Franklin Square, the main groups of protesters moved to the Internal Revenue Service building, the headquarters of the American Petroleum Institute, and other locations they had selected. About 20 protesters were arrested when they tried to break through security barriers and block the entrance to the IRS office at 12th Street and Constitution Avenue NW.
At the IRS, some demonstrators wore white ponchos decorated with anti-IRS slogans. Members of the group said they planned to blockade the front of the building and prevent it from opening. They blame the agency for helping fund the war.

Reader J. sends word that the professional protesters and puppeteers will be out in full force in Washington, D.C. Wednesday to mark the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. We will call for respect of our basic political freedoms and rights while we show our disdain for the state of our union.
Surprise Media Actions! Depending on coverage earlier in the day will help determine our afternoon actions! The media has continued to stand by our warmongering president and Congress by refusing to conduct proper investigative reporting, withholding information, and giving scant coverage to voices opposed to the war. If they don’t come to us, we will go to them. Check in at the Public Assembly in McPherson Sq.
March on the DNC Headquarters! Gather at Reflecting Pool on the West side of the Capitol at 5:00 PM and march with pots and pans in a cacophony of resistance to the Democratic National Committee Headquarters. We want the Democrats to know~~-we hold them accountable for the death, destruction and lies, what kind of change and experience we want and that we will continue to take action and intervene in their business until our call for peace is honored and all of our troops come home. 29Victor,
You don’t need Tolkien. Spending time around here is plenty enough to brush up on how to troll. I hear it’s taking off - they are coming out with a “How to Troll for DUMMIES! Not that you need it.
…yet more terrorist propaganda from rusty the troll. Sigh.
Does it bother you that antiwar rhetoric has been shown, in a very well written paper from Harvard Economists, to embolden insurgents and increase attacks on our soldiers? Nah, I didn’t think it would.
You know Rusty, there was a time when your opinions would have really frustrated me, but I have come to the conclusion that ultimately opinions like yours really do not matter in the long run. I no longer let the rhetorical BS that comes out of the mouths of the uninformed, who haven’t a clue as to what is really going on in Iraq, bother me. You have proven yourself extremely ignorant on this thread as to the progress that has been and continues to be made. All you care to do is vomit your baseless, senseless, divisive propaganda and not even take into consideration the reports that we are getting from the front lines about the progress being made — heck some of those reports are even be made by liberals who visit there.
I will choose to continue to get my opinion on the way things are going by the people who live there and who are working and fighting side by side with the good men and women in Iraq everyday to create a positive change. It’s really too bad you can’t honor the sacrifices of those good people by at least acknowledging that progress is being made. Our military members and the Iraqi patriots are most impressive human beings, and I pray we stand beside them diligently as the Iraqis build the nation they want to have. It’s happening whether you choose to see it or not.
That’s right. I’m a terrorist. You have outed me. MM has been a great outlet for my propoganda since the caves got Wi-Fi.
BTW, I can hear the protesters outside my window now. I hope they don’t interfere with my lunch break.
You’re right. It doesn’t. I mean, it bothers me that the soldiers are in harm’s way in the first place. And it bothers me that you’re trying to guilt me out of my freedom of expression.
I see you haven’t taken my advice about those screws. Righty tighty. Lefty loosey.
I haven’t said that at all. Who gets to determine what is a great many? No hyperbole for me please - I’m full.
Besides, whose being naive? You who thinks that the Iraqis who were planting IEDs were doing it for political reasons and weren’t motivated by the money they were being paid or me who knows that in war there is such a thing as collateral damage and I believe, scratch that, I know that our military is doing and has done everything within their boundaries to ensure that that lessens. I’m bordering on call you cRusty. Don’t make me do it…
I hit send to soon.
You’ll get no act from me. Please rest assured that as far as I am concerned every last US Military man and woman is considered a hero in my book.
JHSII
Hey, at least he doesn’t eat trolls. At least not that I know of…
30 pcs of silver
Yeah, but Tolkien is handy because he tells you how to handle trolls. Avoid them if you can, and if you can’t; mess with them for a bit, shine on some sunshine and then and after they turn back into the stone from which they came, ignore them.
Ummmmm. Thanks? Trolling was easier than I anticipated. I just wrote in a way calculated to get the most responses, removed all rational thought from any of my statements and lied. Ya know, like a woman.
forgot this:
JHSII above “eat trolls” = “eat puppies”
I should just stop typing today.
Really? Is that why their numbers are dwindling to the point where they’re using fragile people like mentally retarded kids as bombers? Is that why the captured documents of dead Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders reflect desperate messages to whoever’s left out there to carry on the ‘jihad’?
Yeah, that’s why Ayman al Zawahiri is gonna come out with a video declaration of victory any day now.
You’re an ass, Rusty.
Lots of people on here, including me,are Iraq War vets. We saw first hand, the success ignored by the MSM and individuals who wanted nothing more than to see Bin Laden and company win.
A refresher for you leftie nutbags:
Hussein was a WMD-wielding megalomaniac who supported al Qaeda. He thumbed his nose at every resolution enacted by the U.N. including Res. 1441, which in conjunction with Congressional approval, gave us the authority to use military force. You ought to read it some time. I’m damned glad we took out the sonofabitch before he had the chance to use what he had.
Afghanistan, like Iraq, is just one more battlefield in the war against Islamofascism.
Newsflash, sweetpea: The Al Qaeda and Taliban would have crossed borders no matter where we struck back, which is why we should have leveled most of the Middel East on 12 September, 2001. But, I’m a former Soldier, not a politician.
You lefties never cease to amaze.
29Victor,
Ouch. I only lie when I have to.
Islams 20 year plan to take over America
Bin Ladens declaration of war on the USA
Tying yourselves together and sitting down in the street, arguing about surrendering in Iraq, wake up and see the big picture. These people are enemy sympathizers. It is all a distraction and don’t think these people wont be laughing when American blood is running in our streets.
Oh, and I’m not writing to anyone in particular, but I witnessed an anti-war rally last weekend, and they weren’t anti-war nearly so much as anti-military & anti-soldier.
They had pictures of what they claimed were injuries inflicted by our servicemen. One had a sign that said that “28% of female recruits are raped” (what does that have to do with the war), another sign read “I was just following orders is not an excuse” (a reference to Nuremberg).
They pretended to care about Iraqi civilians, but when questioned about where that concern was when Saddam was killing them they had no answer.
The protesters have just wised up and changed their rhetoric since Vietnam. Anyone who can’t see through this flimsy facade is either incredibly naive or being intentionally obtuse.
Nice try there! No one is trying to do anything to your freedom of expression. I stated what was on my mind and how ever you choose to feel about it or react to is yours to own. The Constitution does protect your freedom of speech from being impeded by the Government, but it does not exonerate you from being taken to task by your fellow citizens when you write things out on a message board that is open for discussion.
I enjoy the same freedoms you do. You could say to me whatever you wanted to and there is no way I would ever let you or anyone else silence me. When I am silenced it’s because I choose to be (or it’s because Code Pink is around and they do choose to rudely impede the right to free speech by breaking the law because they have publicly stated that their rights are more important than others… sorry for the digression.)
Uhhh Rusty, since I have a little bit of familiarity with the subject of soldiers, and while I am touched that you are worried about our soldiers being in harms way, just what do you think the job of a soldier is?
Don’t confuse the Marine Corps and the Peace Corps.
Rusty,
You are an idiot troll if you think our troops equate to this. Saddam murdered (had murdered) an estimated 300 thousand to over 1 million. Just the other day was the aniversary of chemical Ali gassing 5,00 Kurds. What is so hard about history that you idiot trolls think that history starts today?
Rusty,
Do you work in DC, live there or both? You’re spouting all of the most common talking points of the lefties so perhaps you are a staffer for Chuckie or someone like him?!
You also sound very young and naive. Not much “earthy” experience, as opposed to “wordly” experience.
Opps dont know what went wrong.
devildog6771.wordpress.com/osama-bin-ladens-declaration-of-war-against-the-american/
Excellent post - Just a Grunt. Very succinct.
Scuse the f@#K outta me sweetcakes, but I helped kill lots of bad guys who were definitely not innocent by any stretch of the imagination. Islamic terrorists target innocent people as a matter of procedure. Lots of people die in war, the innocent along with the guilty. But since you’ve got such an anal fixation with body counts, when it comes to Communism, Socialism, and Islamofascism, you have a lot of catching up to do.
Uh, squeeze me, but Iran has never exactly been a benevolent entity. They along with every other Middle Eastern country, have sponsored terrorist cells for years.
And your point is?
What kills me is your unbelievable ignorance of geopolitical realities and lack of understanding of the way terrorist groups operate.
Shove your ‘terrorists attack because America invaded Iraq and Afghanistan’ crap where the sun don’t shine.
You didn’t think they’d be happy about us hitting back on their turf, did you?
Tortue and debasement of terrorist scumbags? Every miscreant in GITMO earned their way there. They were captured after firefights and arrested as part of counter-terrorist operations. People have been slaughtered and tortured by al Qaeda simply for being ‘infidels’. How come that doesn’t have your panites in a wad?
The Left pisses, moans, and complains incessantly about the measures we have to take in order to extract information that will save American lives. I’m supposed to lose sleep over that? You’re nuts.
I know this is dissappointing for you, but the war is already won. What remains is for the infrastucture to be completed and the the transfer of security to the Iraq Army.
Oh yeah, and your remark about ‘chaos of our own making’ is reminiscent of the crap spewed by Jane Fonda after Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge slaughtered about 2 million Cambodians and Vietnamese. But, The Left got the communist utopia they wanted for Vietnam.
“Expect Resistance”
In spray-paint form. Heh.
Watch out, they they’re looking like they might sit down. Careful, they’re putting on their armbands… the animals!
What’s that glow… NO! it can’t be! … they wouldn’t dare… it’s a candlelight vigil!!
INCOMING!!! Duck and cover!!!
Just a Grunt, I’m no pacifist. I have friends and family in the armed services. Some support our efforts in Iraq, others don’t.
It’s about picking good wars vs. bad wars. WWII, The Civil War, Afghanistan…those are wars I can get behind. Other wars, not so much.
ArmywifeArmymom, 29Victor, and 30 pcs of silver: thanks for dispatching Rusty the Troll with sound thinking and excellent debate and also for giving me a big laugh today. No more postings about killing puppies although I think you, 29Victor and you 30 Pieces are lying about the puppy thing. I always enjoy it when one of you not only contributes to the discussion in a worthy way, but provides a belly laugh in the process.
Our troops don’t get to choose good wars versus bad wars. They fight them all. They go when they are called. That’s what you liberals seem to misunderstand, overlook and completely ignore. It’s not the troops who should be under attack by Code Pink et al, and being told they aren’t welcome. Or fast forward to the bombing in NY that no one wants to label as an anti-military attack. Who provides these moonbats with the ability to act like darn fools? The US Military does. You can’t get behind the war that’s fine. But for Pete’s sake get behind the troops and stay there.
I recall a bumper sticker I once saw that read “If you can’t stand behind our troops stand in front of them.” Words to live by in my estimation.
No puppies were harmed in the production of this belly laugh.
Yahoo is reporting 100 people at the IRS this morning, and another 150 marching along somewhere. Is 250 people the best they can do anymore? If it is, this whole thread and the msm converage is much ado about nothing.
sounds like a few people are asking for an audit…
30 pcs of silver said:
C’mon 30 pcs of silver, don’t be distracted by the “good war/bad war” red herring. The exact same arguments that the moonbats are using against this war their forefathers used against WWII and the Civil War. And, if we were fighting those now, they would be saying the same thing
The only reason for someone to cite “good wars” is to make themselves sound credible. Don’t buy it.
mattymatt10
Yes. And this is with organization and busing people in.
Are there counter protesters? If so, any idea how many?
29Victor,
Excellent advice. I think I’ll use it.
Another nail in the coffin of the anti war crowd.
There are about 100 outside. Not close enough to the IRS building to check that out. No counter-protesters, but why would there be? This is a pretty weak showing.
Don’t associate me with Code Pink wackos. My point was that I love the troops but hate the war. I know very well that this isn’t a war of their choosing. Most soldiers I know oppose our presence in Iraq. Are they terrorist sympathizers too?
I hope McCain wins, just so I can wait for these cowards next year!
No Surrender, he says everything I believe much better than I could hope to.

During my time in the Army I was ordered into hostile areas by Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton. I didn’t get to choose which commander in chief I would obey and which I wouldn’t. My personal feelings about the president never prevented me from doing what needed to be done to the best of my ability. Of course in my line of work it was a kind of zero defects work atmosphere. One mistake could get you or somebody else killed.
Think of that the next time you screw up at work.
Heh. Yeah, and it’s pretty hard to convince me that the military wants out of Iraq when when, now that we have hit the five year mark, just about anyone in the military either enlisted or re-enlisted after we invaded Iraq. And re-enlistment numbers are going up year after year.
The vast majority of them are peaceful, but over-zealous. Mis-informed or delusional. Some of it is even borderline sedicious.
That makes this idiocy, not anarchy.
29 Victor see the link in my #131
I noted on the window the comment ” Expect resistance!”…. well, that can be turned around. Many of my friends and compatriots here in MN are going to do just that…. Resist. We’re tired very tired. That means fighting back.
Quick history lesson: Germany, Italy, & Japan had a pact (Tripartite Pact) of mutual defense. Thus Germany declared war on the US (12/11/1941) after we declared war on Japan. FDR went to Congress and we declared war on Germany (and Italy) later the same day. FDR library
Birds of a feather…
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. That is what I was referring to.
KaosKlerik #140
Quicker history lesson: Germany didn’t attack the U.S.
What would be a better use of our time would be to find out how many countries have declared war on the U.S. (and not attacked us) and we didn’t invade them (I bet there are more than a couple) because declaring war doesn’t mean squat until you actually kill someone.
Hey, Just a Grunt: Thanks so much for your LONG service through a bunch of good and not-so-good Commanders-in-Chief. Over my 20 AF years, I never got to decide whether I wanted to follow the orders or not. Some of my time was in recruiting and I rarely had a problem meeting my high quotas.
Thanks, fellow vet. I’m following these protests at recruiting sites and I’m not afraid to go down there and express myself. I’m sure someone has my 6.
Great. Gotta love my city.
Figures. WI is the next secular progressive state..
rusty wanted me to point out at least one of his many lies:
This was his biggest lie of them all.
Unless you believe that hitler loved the Jews
Hey First Skirt I did my time in h*ll known as recruiting also. I was lucky the AF guy liked me so after the first of the month when he had his goal made he would send some my way. We both despised the Navy guys.

BTW I still hate the Navy, which might explain why I hate John Kerry.
JHSII
Maybe he loves the troops like you love puppies.
29Victor
LOL
“War is Offensive” - these fools should be telling this to the jihadists instead. Remember, the definition of “soldier” (or Marine) is someone who provides “civilized” people the luxury of finding war distasteful.
Hey back, Just a Soldier–how kewl is it that you did the recruiting thing. I was colocated with the Marines (they were great)and the Army (they were mostly horny (can I say that here????) I’m probably gonna get thrown off of here but I meant that in the nicest way. Anyway, the Army guys always wanted to hang around when I was processing the ladies…one of my recruits married one of the Army recruiters!!! Anyway, no one liked the Navy and that was before John Kerry. We Just need to be prepared to have to go down to our local recruiting station and kick some civilian butt if needs be.
Which “Soldiers”? The ones in the IVAW?
If you oppose the war against Islamofascism anywhere in the Middle East, you’d better come up with a better line than “Are they terrorist sympathizers, too?”. Any anti-war screed or demonstration by Code Pink moonbats makes Ayman al-Zawahiri do back flips. If the opposition to this war isn’t terrorist sympathizing, I don’t know what the hell is.
Most Soldiers I know and served with, not only support this war but get really disgusted with people like you.
And your’Good’ wars versus ‘bad’ wars”…
Oh gawd, what creative selectivity. You cannot support the troops without also supporting the mission.
The two are not mutually exclusive.
Using your idea of warfare, we should have never picked on Germany and Italy because we were only attacked by Japan.
You are totally incapable of making the connection. Islamic terrorists are abetted, funded, and trained throughout the entire Middle East, Northern Africa, and Indonesia. What part of instigator of an attack and their network of support which enabled them, don’t you get?
You also demonstrate just how ignorant you are of a war’s aftermath; i.e. continued sporadic fighting, the struggle to rebuild the economy and residential communities. When the end of WWII was declared, Europe, Japan, and the Philippines were in ruins. It took decades to recuperate.
George Bush isn’t fighting this war the way I’d have. He’s being way too restrained. I’d have made William Tecumseh Sherman look like a frickin’ Boy Scout.
Now, there’s a good war.
First Skirt #151, stop picking on the Navy. Yea, Kerry was a putz of the first degree, but us “squids” provided all of the corpsmen for the Marines since the beginning of the services. I spent much more time in Marine green than Navy blue & was proud of both branches.
Well re-enlistment is higher now than it was five years ago, and many of the soldiers I know as friends, or who I am related to, do support the war and joined after it started. I guess you could say that a lot of soldiers have, indeed, chosen to fight in this war by staying or joining. Hooah!
I just wanted to say I luv you guys. You are great bunch people.
30, out.
ezupirate75 #153: Just reading your post made me smile–Wow, it’s so great talking to you vets–just like back in the day. I miss being in the service where we could all give each other a “ration” but nobody took it seriously. We had some great Friday nite “meet & greets” with our Navy and Marine counterparts—what a bunch of fun they were; really know how to have a good time. We vets REALLY do love and support ALL of our troops and each other. A lot of my civilian friends envy my comraderie with vets and retirees.
Anybody heard from lgm?
These anti-war buffoons live in their own little vacuum chamber of fantasy and denial. I’m tired of these idiots telling me, my husband, his brothers and sisters in arms, and other military family members that we’re “war profiteers” because we/they decided to serve our country. It’s the height of arrogance to say things about those you want to use as more propaganda.
Yeah, I feel your love all right, anti-war zealots. I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy just thinking of you being put in jail for making fools out of yourselves.
the unhinged left love our nation and our troops the same way ike loved tina…
“squids” eh? My dad (ex-Air Force) always said that “squid” stood for something…lessee …Seagoing something In Dungarees.
Now, what did the “qu” stand for?
Nope. Can’t seem to remember.
Countrybumpkin:
I think lgm tripped over his own contradictions and hypocrisy back to the underside of his favorite bridge.
emjem,
that’s hilarious!
I have a neighbor that is a Army recruiter & his favorite line is “all service groups are good, some are just better” The rivalry between the branches is good natured & similiar to the fights among siblings, it is OK for us to beat up each other, but let a outsider jump one of us & a united front forms quickly. I have the honor of befriending a WWII vet before he had to move into a assisted living residence. My family has adopted him as part of the family & include him on all holidays & fa,mily functions. I take him to the local VFW hall regularly along with a Korean vet who he is friends with at the residence.
Um, you saying something is the case does not make it so. I want every single one to make it out alive.
I only know 4 Iraqi veterans. Three oppose our continued involvement. They’re not shy about their opposition (although none of them are politically active). I know its a small sample size that’s not indicative of veterans everywhere. But that’s not my point. My point is this:
Are they terrorist sympathizers or not? They’ve been fired upon by terrorists. One got hit by an IUD. Are they particularly seditious? Because from what many of the comments here imply that, yes, they are on the side of the terrorists.
Japan attacks us (we’ll ignore the timing of the actual declaration).
We declare war on Japan.
Germany declares war on us.
We declare war on Germany and Italy.
FDR determines the European theater is the more important one although after Midway we counter and begin pushing back the Japanese navy as well.
We kick Italy’s butt and they swich sides.
We kick Germany’s butt.
We kick Japan’s butt.
That’s historically correct.
You think a better plan would have been to just attack Japan and ignore Germany while they take over Europe?
How many declare war and not attack? A formal declaration? None that I know of or could find. How many did we not invade? Other than the Duchy of Grand Fenwick, (which we don’t like to talk about), it is again, none I could find.
An IUD?!
Either the terrorists are horribly desperate for weapons or your buddy wasn’t really injured in the type of combat we see on the news (unless it’s about Spitzer). Maybe he just told his wife that.
KaosKlerik #165: Oooooh, I want to hear more about the Duchy of Grand Fenwick? Did the U.S. mess with him? Who knew?
Uh…no. In fact, my original quote was to point out that the same “logic” that the moonbats use to argue that we shouldn’t have invaded Iraq could have been (and, I believe, was) used by “their forefathers” during WWII to oppose American getting involved in the European War.
There is nothing quite like it, is there? My best friend is a ex-squid, I’m ex-army and most of my family have been in one branch of the military or another. We pick at each other and trade barbs, but when we read about or see the crap that’s going on with these protest… when we hear people on the news thinking that they are speaking for us! Talk about a “united front.”
The local NBC affliate lead off their reporting with ‘thousands of demonstrators’, but clips seem to indicate otherwise….anyone downtown have a sense of how many?
That’s the one. And it got pretty serious, they almost wound up taking over the entire world. Someone made a documentary about it.
My, what creative logic.
It is entirely possibile to respect the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women fighting in Iraq, and to wish all the best for them and their safety, while disagreeing with the mission they are fighting. In fact, I’m doing it right now.
The war was designed and implemented by a select group of individuals in the Bush administration [with whom I adamantly disagree]; the soldiers on the ground did not create this war, they are simply doing their job — at the potential expense of their own lives [bravery and sacrifice I cannot even comprehend, and whole-heartedly respect].
But I understand if you don’t believe me, being an America-hating liberal and all. So don’t take my word for it. Here is a poll showing that a majority of people with family in Iraq disagree with the war. Surely these people support their own family members, despite their disagreement with the war, no?
“I don’t see gains for the people of Iraq . . . and, oh, my God, so many wonderful young people, and these are the ones who felt they were really doing something, that’s why they signed up,” said poll respondent Sue Datta, 61, whose youngest son, an Army staff sergeant, was seriously wounded in Iraq last year and is scheduled to redeploy in 2009. “I pray to God that they did not die in vain, but I don’t think our president is even sensitive at all to what it’s like to have a child serving over there.”
That particular poll does not indicate the demographics of the 1200 plus , nor does it reflect the political leaning.
People against a war? What a stupid question to ask. Of course people would be against war. But John Stuart Mill continues to be right in this case.
me:
rusty the troll:
You have this backwards - I wouldn’t have said it if it wasn’t so.
Based on your previous postings there is no reason to believe this. It looks like just another lie.
Do they do things that undermine our ability to fight the terrorists? Do they do things that give the terrorists aid and comfort? Do they do things that enable terrorism?
IF the answer is yes to any of those questions, then yes they are on the side of the terrorists.
Your real point is that you only know 4 veterans and that you use those 4 as the representative sample of ALL veterans. Just remember that not everyone thinks like you and your tiny clique. There are more military veterans posting in this topic alone than than you know in your little group - and I’m one of them. You would do well to listen to people who clearly know more than you do about the world - and learn from them.
But if the logic is that against war = against troops fighting it, then the existence of just one person who breaks this rule automatically disproves it; you don’t even need a majority in a poll.
And the aforementioned logic makes no mention of demographics or political leaning either, so why does the poll require this information in order to disprove it?
Well when a girl says no she means no.
My polling sample is slightly larger then 4 and almost to a man, yes they are all men, say that the most under reported and unrecognized aspect of the what they do isn’t the combat ops but the humanatarian missions they engage in. The reason so many of them want to go back isn’t as much to kick jihadi butt as to relieve the suffering. That suffering started long before the Americans arrived. While the data and statistics are boring you should check out things like the stats for schools, electricity, families with AC, refrigerators pre war and post war. Some rather large sections of Iraq didn’t have those things to start with and the Americans have spent a great deal of time and effort in sharing these resources with all citizens of the country not just the privileged of the Sunni Ba’athist party. That is one of the things that created so much resentment a while back. The country began sharing these things and those who were used to having a monopoly on them didn’t like it. You never see or hear that in news reports but it is in the CENTCOM briefings given on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
LOL
Is there anything being organized for tomorrow? Cuz I can be there tomorrow.
If not I’ll just head over to 14th and L and see what I see. Probably stop at Dick’s Sporting Goods beforehand and pick up a baseball bat…
Who is promoting, orginizing, and paying for these protests?
It would be hysterical if they had Islamic Rage Boy as a guest protester.
Arrrrgh. IED.
“Expect Resistance” Resistance to WHAT? What are they resisting? Would someone PLEASE sit these morons down once and for all and make them understand that this is a completely, 100%, non-drafted, volunteer, have to go in all under your own locomotion amd with your own decision, sign the contract knowing FULLY what it is you are doing with axsolutely no coersion or threats, or bullying of any kind by the military recruiters military and has been since they ended the draft?
And while they are at it, would the same people PLEASE make these shoe-size IQ having dweebs realize that the only ones pushing to reinstate the draft is the Liberal Wing in the Congress and NOT the Republicans or Conservitives?
I mean Good God already…this is SICK! These people are purely certifyable in their pathological insanity towards this nonsense. Every last one of them.
If you are at one of these protest rallies, you should no longer just be cited or arrested, you should be placed on a 72 hour hold and have a complete psychological work-up and not allowed out until whatever is wrong with your grape is actually fixed.
Out in full force? I heard, on the radio this morning, they had only about 10 protesters at the IRS…not the “thousands” reported. All in all, the whole thing was a flop. MSM, I have found, is well known for exaggeration. I remember once hearing about big demonstrations in downtown Seoul, Korea, with fires and riots. We called a friend staying in a hotel downtown (military friend) and asked if he was okay. He said there wasn’t anything going on…no fires, no riots, quiet streets. I learned a lesson about the MSM that day; don’t trust them. I also remember a demonstration in D.C., back in the late 80s. I was there. There were about 20-30 people demonstrating, but it was reported as “hundreds”. Anything the MSM says, is taken with “a grain of salt”.
