I love my MacBook Pro, but…
…not as much as Charlie Rose loves his MacBook Air.
Vid here.
Wow. Ouch.

A shattered MacBook Air is $1700 down the drain - that’s just for the stock model.
Bruises heal.
I’ll take the bruises.
I would’ve done the same thing.
I love my MacBook Pro.
I’ll take the bruises too, but that’s just so I won’t have to use the Mac.
Please, please, PLEASE don’t make me use a Mac, mister! I’ll do whatever you want. Fall headfirst down the stairs. NO PROBLEM.
That really looks like it hurts. Are we sure he isn’t a victim of spousal, candidate, or reporter abuse?
“Chicks dig scars,” or so Hollywood tells us…
The expression we have in construction is “protect everything, but skin grows back.”
Considering I once face-planted to avoid falling on and breaking a paintball gun, I’d probably do the same thing Charlie did. . .if I could ever bring myself to buy anything by Mac.
I always knew Michelle had good taste, and now I have evidence. Good laptop choice!
But I’m not so sure it’s worth the pain and suffering either. I screwed up my left knee (permanently) to save a laser printer, so now I’m more likely to sacrifice the lappy than myself.
How the Mac avoided the fate of the BetaMax and HD-DVD is a mystery. Ordinarily, when an industry settles on a standard (in this case an operating system), the loser in the competition goes away.
. . . had it been my Dell XPS M2010, he’d be dead. Just sayin’ . . .
Maybe Rhandi Rhodes snuck up behind him.
I typically buy protection plans on my computers, if they get damaged. Do they not offer that for the MacBook Pro?
i’d dive into a thicket of razors to save a macbook air…
and #9, because Mac, unlike Betamax or HD-DVD has always had an interactive cult following. not to mention, while Windows sured up the business processing market, Mac sured up the graphics design market. and since the iPod, Mac’s marketing has been phenomenal; couple that with people getting fed up with Windows and programs being offered for both platforms, Mac’s here to stay.
besides HD-DVD was simply inferior, while Betamax was a superior technology, but marketed poorly.
The only good thing about a Mac is the OS. Other than that, wrap a chain around it and it makes a great anchor for my kayak.
With his income, protect the face. The Mac can be replaced, and the hard drive rescued. My income isn’t anywhere near his, but I’ll protect the face first. My laptop is insured.
Can I trade? I just have an old iBook G4.
Still love it, though.
Poor guy can’t afford another one if he breaks this one? I’d see if it survived the fall…and what’s he doing with three phones? Oh yeah, two ears and a mouth.
IceBook Raises Hand!
Hey, still using my 900mHz G3 iceBook — since ‘03! Not into the PC-Mac War; I simply chose the machine that most resembled my ‘87 first love and most advanced (and terribly malmarketed PC of all time) — the Amiga! Ah, like back then, Amy would’ve left both PC and Macs in the dust hadn’t Commodore f’ed up!!!
Sigh!

For my black eye, I made up a story about being abducted by aliens, who in the course of examining me temporarily removed one eye to insert electrode probes. I actually had one guy believing it (or else he was a bigger kidder than me).
How about hanging on to an expensive violin?
Or landing on your Stradivarius and smashing it after falling down the stairs…
I probably would have done the same thing and I only have a MacBook.
Well….at nearly $2000, I’d probably face plant too.
Have yet to make the grand leap towards a MacBook purchase but I do love my iMac.
What….no Mac-haters yet?
I’m sure they’ll be along shortly ; )
Look a bit higher, my anti-Mac post is there
MacBook Air, hmmm? What’s the frequency, Charlie?

Ah, yes. Macbook Pro, the only way to go. I’m sad it took me over 20 years to make the move from Windows to Mac. (Even though my elder son has been trying to make me understand for all of that time.) I’m sixty and don’t like the idea of a face plant, but my Macbook Pro is pretty important. Hope I don’t have to face that particular choice.
