Mo’ rage about the Mo toons
So, the “new” bin Laden tape is threatening a “reckoning” with Europe over the Mohammed Cartoons. The Religion of Perpetual Outrage strikes again:
Osama bin Laden warned in a new audiotape of a “severe” reaction for Europeans’ publication of cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad in what experts saw as a direct threat of a new attack in Europe.
The message, posted late Wednesday on a militant Web site that has carried al-Qaida statements in the past and bore the logo of the extremist group’s media wing al-Sahab, showed a still image of bin Laden aiming with an assault rifle.
“The response will be what you see and not what you hear and let our mothers bereave us if we do not make victorious our messenger of God,” said a voice believed to be bin Laden’s, without specifying what action would be taken.
…The five-minute message, bin Laden’s first this year, made no mention of the fifth anniversary Wednesday of the U.S.-led invasion in Iraq.
Probably because the “new” tape is old. Rusty at The Jawa Report concludes:
This is an old audio, probably from 2006, of bin Laden. As Sahab must have been embarrassed that they had nothing to offer the world on this the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, so they hurriedly released an old audio they had lying around. The fact that there was no accompanying banner is evidence that they threw this together last minute.
Also no mention of the upcoming Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam film, set for release this Sunday.
So what explains the timing?
AP notes:
It came as the Muslim world marks the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday Thursday and amid the reigniting of a two-year-old controversy over Danish cartoons deemed by Muslims to be insulting.
In the message, bin Laden described the cartoons as taking place in the framework of a “new Crusade” against Islam, in which he said the pope has played a “large and lengthy role.”
“You went overboard in your unbelief and freed yourselves of the etiquettes of dispute and fighting and went to the extent of publishing these insulting drawings,” he said, according to a transcript released by the SITE Institute, another U.S. group that monitors terror messages. “This is the greater and more serious tragedy, and reckoning for it will be more severe.”
Bin Laden dismissed as “excuses” Europe’s citing of freedom of expression to justify the publishing of the cartoons.
“If there is no check on the freedom of your words, then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our actions,” according to a transcript released by the SITE Institute, another U.S. group that monitors terror messages.
Also: “Adam Raisman, senior analyst at the SITE Institute, said that the tape’s release coincides with an increased buzz in online jihadi forums calling for revenge against Europe over the cartoons.”
The jihadis hardly need Osama’s goading to get their juices flowing. The Taliban are ready to use “Fitna” as an excuse to attack NATO troops. “Moderate” Muslim-dominated Indonesia is warning of a backlash against the film.

In other news, as the Parliament of Iran discusses the death penalty for Muslims who convert to Christianity, the House Democratic Caucus discusses death penalty for converts who leave the Democratic Party.
What would amuse me to no end is whenever a Muslim “holy” man calls for the death of an infidel, some group then issues a warrant for the arrest/execution of said “holy” man. Let’s see how far this martyr thing goes once the leaders are called out.
Of course, don’t expect any of the Europeans governments to arrest these Muslims for inciting riots or hate. Hate crimes are only perpetuated against the “downtrodden” and the only the “downtrodden” is therefore justified to hate. This is the reaping of the whirlwind known as political correctness.
Islam is so worried about their religion becasue of a few pencil drawings on some paper.
Sounds like a pretty weak religion….but then again any religion that has to issue death warrants for leaving it, and they force women into white slavery can’t be set upon a strong foundation.

Europe is in need of a Charles Martel to persuade the member’s of the “religion of pieces” to return to their countries of origin voluntarily or by the point of a bayonet. Otherwise I fear they will be conquered and assimilated into the Borg collective during my life time.

It’s fascinating that events, developments and changes that used to take decades, scores, lifetimes, generations and centuries to occur now happen over mere months and a few years.
My prediction is that freedom will be maintained and saved for real, permanently, for posterity; only by the willingness to implement, and the actual implementation of, disdproportionate retaliation.
As many as it takes of these loony barbarians will have to be eliminated - eliminated, so that they will never again dare to even think about expanding the sphere of their ideology.

I was recently on a plane sitting next to a lefty from Seattle. She showed me a newsletter from her “cause” that send literature to public schools about religious tolerance. She was quite upset when I suggested that Christianity was actually a quite tolerant religion. I am not Christian myself, but have never felt any hostility from Christians. Then she went ballistic when I suggested that the Muslim faith seems quite intollerant of the beliefs of others. This is evident by the term “Infidel” and the reaction to cartoons. She said that Christians should not upset Muslim’s and those cartoons demonstrate how intolerant Christianity really is. I said lets see, riots and murder does not show intolerance but humor and satire show intolerance. I suggested that her organization only sounded anti-christian to me and tried to behind a misunderstood virtue like tolerance. Just look at Muslim nations and see what a Muslim majority would do to a country. It is not a religion based on tolerance of differing opinions.
I find it very telling that the same media that painted the late Reverend Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority as dangerous to our nation’s basic values and freedoms, continue to downplay and avoid the serious nature threats like the one cited above pose to this nation.
For the hotheaded jihadists lurking just under our radar, incendiary statements like this are all that is needed to send some of them off on a rampage.
It is truly a pathetic situation in which we find ourselves: A 9/12 citizenry being served by a 9/10 media.

The Euros seem to fear standing beside us against the barbarians more than they fear bending over and presenting themselves to the barabrians to let them (the barbarians) do to them (the Euros) what they (the barbarians) will.

The moslems can’t beat us militarily, so they use terrorism to fight the West. In Europe, they are winning, and, I suppose, either in my lifetime, or my kids’ lifetimes, the U.S. will, once again, have to go over and “rescue” them. Either that, or the Middle East will finally explode. Too many so-called clerics, interested only in money and power, that will provoke it. One will finally step “over the line”.

Yeah, I figured it was an issue of interpretation.
Back in my Navy days, we had a couple of exchange officers from the UAE on one of my ships. One of them was the first guy to the “O” Club every afternoon. The second guy was much more devout. When we were underway, he would come up to the bridge just before 2:00PM and check the gyrocompass, to make sure that he would be facing the right direction to pray. As soon as he left the bridge to go below and pray, I would change course by at least 90 degrees, so he was facing the South Pole or somewhere.
I guess I’ll burn.

A Muslim libertarian from the UAE was talking about this, and he said that Muslims are not allowed to even look at those, but for non-Muslims it is okay, because the Islamic faith doesn’t apply. He wanted to know WHY Muslims were looking at these, when they weren’t supposed.

Being a cultist means you never have to say you are an idiot.
I hear people, from time to time, on the news, say that most Moslems are peaceful and don’t believe in terrorism. I can’t agree. There is too much silence coming from the Moslem community in not condemning the fanatics. The silence tells me that they agree with the terrorists. With this major issue regarding their religion, they can’t sit quietly and ignore what is going on around them. They can’t tell me they want to live in peace and go on with their lives. You’re forced to choose sides when you in the middle of a fight, whether you like it or not. It’s gone too far now to simply look the other way.
Europe is already sending them back (in even larger numbers since Sarkozy came to power in France). Europe sadly has been targeted for centuries by unwelcome religions who refuse to integrate and then complain when they think they are “persecuted”.
