Obama trashing his grandmother again? Update: Audio link added

Update: Audio here.

Reader Edward e-mails:

This morning (Thursday 3/20/08) on WIP AM 610 Sports Radio in Philadelphia, host Angelo Cataldi interviewed Senator Obama. During the beginning of the segment (about 07:40 AM) Mr. Cataldi asked the Senator about his comments on Tuesday regarding his “white” grandmother. I am paraphrasing here, but his response was something like “She is a typical white person who fears people on the street.”

Please try to obtain a tape of the segment and listen to it yourself, but if I heard this correctly, it was another look at who this guy really is.

Hope the radio station posts the audio. Here’s 610’s site.

If this is how Obama responds when he’s “shaken up,” God help us if he’s in the White House during the next terrorist attack or international crisis.

Except that he said it before the kickoff. The guy who was right might have something to say to the guy who was wrong.

I believe you missed emjem24’s point. Sen. Obama was not a U.S. Senator when the decision to go to war was made. He was not reading the same reports the President and Congress were reading.

So what was Obama’s reasoning based on? Is he an Oracle?

Anyone can hazard guesses and be right without having any of the real data points in front of them. That does not mean they are a great thinker. In fact, his element of risk in being wrong was so minimal, he had nothing to lose in making it. (…and, I say this while presuming you have some evidence to back it up that he was as clear and concise as you claim he was. To be honest, I really don’t care what a state senator thought during the time because he did not have any stake in the game.)

I bet before the 2008 season that New England would lose the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t make me a football genius. It also doesn’t mean that I should be giving Bill Belichick advice. (OT- but figured I’d continue with the football theme.)

What about his associations with Black Panther members? What about his association with William Ayres of the “Weather Underground”? What about what is coming out about his association with Tony Rezko?

Obama’s history is coming out regarding QUESTIONABLE associations with RADICAL, EXTREMIST people, and of POOOR JUDGEMENT. What we know now is only the beginning. Just a cursory examination of this man shows without a doubt that Mr. Obama is a terrible presidential candidate. If what was known about him now was known back in 2004, he wouldn’t even be a senator.

The Klan is a disgusting part of our past, they are no longer relevant in the United States. If the numbers of lynchings and murders committed by the klan were historically documented, Americans would see that it was not just blacks being terrorized, but also members of the Republican party.

Let’s not forget the democrat party for forming the KKK shortly after we won the Civil War.

Black Theology is alive and thriving with a free pass from all the media and white guilt apologists cowards.

More democrat fun facts… the Party of the Ku Klux Klan, the party that used fraud, whippings, lynching, murder, intimidation, and mutilation to get the black vote, and passed the Black Codes and Jim Crow laws which legalized racial discrimination and denied blacks their rights as citizens, the Party of President Franklin D. lgm,

Thanks for at least responding with an issue – however cliched your arguments might be.

Let’s look at some facts surrounding the run-up to the war in Iraq:

FACT: Iraq was in violation of multiple UN resolutions, as well as the terms of surrender surrounding the 1991 Gulf War. They had been in violation of those terms for most of the Clinton administration. Clinton chose to do NOTHING about those violations – which included attacks on monitoring fly-over missions by US forces. These violations alone were just cause to resume hostilities against Iraq and the Saddam Hussein regime.

FACT: These violations were cited by the Bush administration as the primary reasons for the invasion of Iraq, along with several others, all of which were substiantiated by intelligence by not only the US, but Great Britain, France and the Soviet Union.

FACT: The liberal mantra that “the only reason Bush chose to go to Iraq was the ‘non-existant’ WMD’s is simply not true. In multiple speeches given in the run-up to invasion, the President stated repeatedly as many as fifteen (15) different reasons for the need for military action. The possible presence of WMD’s (based on intelligence from ALL of the above stated countries) was usually reason number 12 or 13 given. Also low on that list was the fact (yes FACT) that elements of A.Q. were in Iraq, either in hiding or in training. Why don’t more people remember this? Go back and check for yourself. Most of the President’s speeches simply were not covered in their entirety by any outlets other than C-SPAN or Fox News. Just about everybody else carried snippets of the speeches, in which they cherry picked what was said and packaged it so as to make it appear that the only reasons we were getting ready to go to war was to “get the WMD’s and root out A.Q. in Iraq.”

When you get hit over the head with it presented that way 90 times a day over the airwaves and by the print media, you start believing it. Too bad too few people actually remember what was said – and too bad that the Bush administration wasn’t more vocal defending itself. They have nobody to blame but themselves for that.

We could debate the run-up to the war all day long, but why? That’s in the past. The question before us is what do we do now? That’s what I’m interested in. Hillary and BHO want out – in a hurry. My feeling is that the consequences for that would be disasterous, therefore, I can not in good conscience vote for either of them based on that issue.

And don’t come back with the argument you laid out in your last post. That has been refuted, pretty well I might add, by at least a couple of other posters here. BHO was a state senator from Illinois. He had no “dog in the fight”, nor did he have access to any of the intel. Those that did (including HRC, John Kerry, and most prominent Democrats) agreed with the Bush administration and voted to authorize hostilities against Iraq. BHO was doing NOTHING MORE than saying what his constituents wanted to hear, and that is nothing more than political opportunism.

Let’s turn to domestic policy. As I stated yesterday, I will fight as hard as I can AGAINST anybody who proposes any type of single payer, socialized medicine scheme. Period.

Both candidates on the Democrat side would also call for and try to implement larger versions of Lyndon Johnson’s (a Democrat) Great Society welfare state. After 40+ years of it, you can see the results: more people on welfare, that same welfare state contributing to the undermining of the black family unit in this country, failed “housing projects” – the list goes on and on. How much is too much? I say 40+ years is enough to establish that the Democrat experiment with a welfare state is too much. The road to socialism needs to be abandoned – not expanded.

You can call it what you want, but it’s still socialism. And that goes against everything that America was founded to be.

And that’s the reason why I CAN NOT vote for either HRC or BHO.

Prior to his speech on Monday, Barack Obama presented himself as the post racial messiah.

In the speech, he tried to minimize and obscure the truth. For 20 years, he has been a member of the congregation lead by a black racist. Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., preaches black liberation theology. The racist rants are not mere snippets. The hate of white corporate America and continuing oppression and victimization of black America are core beliefs of Rev. Wright.

If Obama has moved beyond the hate to the post racial nirvana, why are Obama, his wife, and two children in the pew every Sunday listening to the hate of blacks who are mired in the 60s and 70s?

What is the character of Obama who holds his white grandmother, who raised him from age 10, up to ridicule?

    Two impudent questions are:

    How black is Barack Obama?

When did Barack Obama become black?

By age 2, Obama’s black father and ultra-liberal, white mother had separated.

Nonetheless, according to his memoir, Dreams of My Father, his mother taught him about his black American and African heritage.

From age 6-10, he was living with his mother and her second husband and going to school in Jakarta, Indonesia.

At 10, he returned to Honolulu, lived with his white, middle class, grandparents, and attended the private Punahou School. He writes in the memoir that the majority of the students were Asian American and he was one of three black students.

While he lived in a white, middle class, home in Honolulu, it was at the Punahou School that Obama first became conscious of racism and what it means to be an African-American.

The reality is that Obama is trying to live a double life. To white liberals he is the post racial messiah. The purpose of the speech on Monday was to confirm to white liberal Democrats that Obama has moved beyond racism. His continuing attendance at Trinity United Church of Christ is to prove to black America that Rev. Wright is still his mentor and Obama believes the hate that Rev. Wright preaches.

So how about knocking off the persecution of our fellow Americans and get off your “non-black” supremacist high-horse and start addressing the real issues that are in play?

We will persecute our fellow citizens no more, we will look to you for guidance in all matters and will seek your permission before we state our misguided opinions.

Hey! Now that you all have spoken, I think I’m right! I am not only more intelligent than you, but – based on general principle – I am better than you!

Now, back to my original point: you unfairly judge Black people because you have zero perspective on their culture and heritage. You do not consider that they might think differently from you. This is because you are non-black race supremacists who think that everyone should think and act like you.

Let go of all these trumped up accusations against Obama’s preacher. He’s a Man of God just as much as any other preacher is, so leave him alone.

And yet, it is acceptable for Wright and Obama to judge whites as “typical white people,” right? How can they make judgements, blanket ones at that, about whites when they have “zero perspective on their culture and heritage?” Might they not “think differently” from Obama and Wright? Or is it because they are “non-white race supremacists who think that everyone should think and act like them?

Funny how the same can be said of them from a white perspective, isn’t it?

As for “trumped up,” if the infamous Wright sermons were just aberrations, so atypical of his real thoughts and beliefs, 1why did they feel the need to publish them on DVD for your viewing pleasure? Someone claiming to be a man of God ought to act like one. Not a lot to ask.

And why is Obama more black than white? Is it his melanin content? If so, that is racist on its face (no pun intended).

Why is it that if you are critical of Obama, it can only be because he is (half) black? Isn’t that a racist conclusion? Why can’t he just be a wrongheaded, vacuous, bloviating politician?

Is it a coincidence that lead in paint was used as a white base component?

Sorry for being so late LGM but I never heard Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and now this Wright guy preach the true gospel of Christ. I have heard preachers personally for years that I know who are not saved. They never mention redemtpion, sin, heaven and hell. They are so involved in wordly affairs that they never mention the spiritial side. When Wright and the others make an Alter call to Christ then I will concede your point.
