The Vets for Freedom National Heroes Tour
The anti-war vandals had their day in the sun. Now, let’s turn to the patriots. The Vets for Freedom has launched a National Heroes Tour–make sure you check to see when they’ll be rolling through your town. Today they are in Austin, Texas. VFF reports:
Many of America’s most decorated war heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan have packed their bags and are hitting the road on a national bus tour to take their non-partisan message of progress and freedom from coast-to-coast.
The Vets for Freedom National Heroes Tour is about supporting our troops, honoring their commitment, and rallying the country to complete the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
At this critical juncture in our country, we need Americans, lawmakers and the media, to fully recognize—and appreciate—the sacrifice of our brave military and the dramatic success they have achieved, especially in Iraq with the new counterinsurgency strategy.
Jim Hanson’s got vid of the kickoff.

Bummer,
They’re not coming to Florida. Godspeed to all of them and safe travels. All of them are heros!
You reckon some as#hat will deface the bus?
I live in Florida too and am bummed they will not be near.
GOD, grant them safe travel!
As the Bishop says in ‘Caddyshack’—”OH RAT FARTS!” …they’re not coming to Illinois either!
Ah well, good luck, and watch out for pot holes.
Thank you for the posting here. I am sure that PBS will not have endless video of the tour, CNN will not devote 10 minutes by each talking head for live interviews, or CNBC will not run video of the traffic disruptions above the ticker tape. It will, however, be important to some of us.
What?!? They aren’t coming to New Jersey!
Wherever they go – I pray that they have a huge turnout and that the wonderful that they have to spread is received with open arms. or is it ears? Any way. Godspeed.
God bless them. We cannot allow our soldiers to go through another Vietnam era abuse. Never again.
How can such a great endeavor be non partisan when one party agrees totally with the goals of these heroes and the other does everything it can to keep them from preforming their mission at risk to their lives, then denigrates them and their supporters.
Can’t wait until they hit Norfolk.
I love each and every one of them, MAY GOD BLESS THEM ALL.
wonderful message that they
A safe and successful journey. Thank you.
Glad the vets can do it. I am taking 30 days of leave after I redeploy, and then it is back to work for me!
I missed it by a few days when I was in the Phoenix, AZ area last week.
Too bad they can’t make it up to Idaho where they would get a very warm welcome. The local population in our area really does support the troops.
I’ll make it to the Iowa stop on the 26th.
They’re not coming to Seattle or Tacoma. Imagine that.
I wish them well. It’s a story the media won’t tell, but one that needs to be heard, over and over. Our boys are heros, and they deserve recognition not false accusations.
The only stop I see on their site in Tennessee is Nashville, about 200+ miles from me. *sigh*

While I am glad to see this happening and wish them a safe, successful, protest-free journey, I think there’s something amiss with a society that must be reminded by those who fought for it, what it was they fought for and why we should remember.
One of the few times I’m glad to have left Chicagoland for Iowa City (sorry Iowans). Hopefully my husband and I will be able to make it to the Des Moines event.
Awesome, they’ll be headed my way. I’m glad they’re doing this… it reminds the country that there is a war and people’s support is necessary to finish the job and not weasel out of the commitment we have made to helping Iraq get back on its feet. Just wait… the anti-war protestors will try some stunt and ruin it.
Great. They’re going to be in Norfolk/Va. Beach area April 6th. We’ll be down there, looking for a new home. Taking time out to cheer them on. We’re heading back to No. Virginia April 7th. Heck, maybe we’ll “tag along”.
They never come thru COLORADO?
We have multiple air bases, the AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Buckley, army bases, ( no naval port …yet, waiting for global warming) etc. Medal of Honor winners (earners)etc..
C’mon over vets, from AZ TO DENVER, THEN DOWN TO TEXAS.
You’re lucky, I would drive if only 200 miles…3 hours? GO.
I’m with you Shooter #20: Love to have them in Colorado – we could get a huge turnout. Come on, fellow vets, I-40 East from AZ to I-25 North right past Petersen AFB, NORAD, Space Command, AF Academy, Fort Carson Army Post, and on to Denver, Buckley AFB, and Fort Morgan Military Cemetary. Love to see you!
