Thursday afternoon free-for-all
I was in Oklahoma City today to give a Town Hall series lecture. Wonderful weather, wonderful people. Sorry I didn’t have more time to spend in town. Anyway, I just got frisked in secondary screening and thanked the TSA agent for taking her job seriously. Wish more folks in Washington would.
I’ll be getting on a plane soon–I hope–so here’s your Thursday afternoon open thread. I updated the Obama grandma post with the WIP AM audio.

I’m not sure why, but right now I feel the urge to introduce you all to an amazing blog.
I have never met the author, she is the wife of the singer for the Christian group Selah. They are pregnant with a child who is “incompatible with life” and she writes about her struggles, her faith, and her everyday life. I am moved by the strength of their faith and I hope some of you will take a look and pray for this amazing family. I have just been looking at the blog as of this week and I find myself incredibly inspired by this family.

Sometimes the TSA bunch are less than bright. Thanks to a little incident in Vietnam I have a metal plate in my foot. Before I go through the scanners I tell them about it & tell them my foot will set it off. I go through, set off the scanner & they seem surprised & want me to go through the game of check my pockets, etc. When they finally tire of that game I get the complete check out like Michelle did today & they finally figure out the plate in my foot is what is setting it off. I wish there was a way to get an official document from TSA to give them to keep this from being a every time occurance.
I’m still alarmed that Grandma’s names for blacks got lumped in with “whites” creating Aids and distributing crack to destroy the black community, and everyone’s (well, in msm land) ready to shrug it off.
I live in the Philly area, and we have a local morning drive talk radio host, Michael Smerconish, who used to be somewhat conservative but now wants to be popular with the MSNBC crowd, who’s now apparently turned his talkshow into an Obama infomercial. It’s bizarre.

Anyone who has a perfect score is in league with the prince of darkness. My Terps have tanked as usual so I could give a crap. At least no one is talking about Florida. One unworthy school. You all probably know better than I do, but I don’t believe this black preaching which is scary to whites is something new. It was around 1976 I went to an assembly at an auditorium Wilson Hall on the U of Cincinnati campus. $3 admission. Speakers were Joanne Little, escaped convict who had escaped by killing a white jail guard who was purportedly raping her; a former inmate of Attica; and, hope I’m not making this up, Dick Gregory, black social activist. There were 2 overweight white cops from Central Casting at each end of the stage with extremely loud police radios strapped to their shoulders. Whenever the dispatcher come on to announce something they quickly put their hand over the radio speaker to muffle it as well as they could. Which begged the question why did they have them on so loud in the first place. There were maybe 500 in the hall, and I was one of maybe 5 whites there, the rest black. And the speakers seems so anti-government, so hateful. One of the other few whites there walked out midstream. The speakers seemed to me 100% emotion, 0% thoughfulness. Full tilt boogie. No brakes. No restraint. That was my only experience in such a venue. I’ve never been to a black church.
I have come to thank TSA when they screen me, just as I thank clerks when the ask for my ID. I realize that they are looking out for my wellfare.
I think it is a good practice for all of us.
I’ve been to several black churches over the years, from here to Denver. I’ve never seen such trash come out of the pastor’s sermons. All of them was about Christ and God, not politics or victimhood. In fact, other than the dancing in the aisles, I felt okay there, and was always welcome.
Rev Al Sharpton is going to be on Greta tonight she said she was going to do some investigating first into comments by Rev Jeremiah Wright to see if they are comparable to what Imus said last April which was also taken out of context and Obama insisted Imus be fired and no one brought up Imus’s good works or life in totality. Imus isn’t a Pastor in a Church so how Rev Al is comparing what one says to another escapes my reasoning abilities.

Mookie, she got caught in a lie. She was trying to say how ruff she had it when she landed in Bosnia, sniper fire going off and they had to do a full sprint dash for cover as nobody was there to great them. Low and behold we now have video of the Witch being greated and there was no sniper fire.

My grandfather is in the same generation as Obama’s grandmother. He wouldn’t let us watch NBA basketball games as kids because there were blacks in the game. My father broke through those stereotypes and the BS regarding blacks he was taught at home as a kid.
I was lucky enough to have a wonderful experience with a TSA agent back in October. We were in Arizona flying back to Texas. We thought we had plenty of time to check our bags (about an hour and a half until our plane would take off). Well, the line for baggage check was through the door. So we made the decision to carry on our bags and whatever they had to throw away, so be it.
We got up there and scanned our bags and of course they wanted to search them. The guy pulled us aside with the bags and did the standard, do you have anything in here that can hurt me question. When he opened up the bag of toiletries, he was just like, you guys are killing me! He asked if we knew the rules and I said we did, but explained what was going on. He took me back around through security to get the baggies to pack everything in, escorted me back through, and helped me package everything up. All we had to throw away was our bottle of saline. Nicest guy I’ve met in a long time. I wrote a letter to TSA (unfortunately couldn’t remember his name) thanking them for a good experience.
It really comes down to the way you treat people. He could have made us feel stupid or thrown everything out, but he didn’t.
I didn’t know there was video of her arrival. I wonder why this isn’t a bigger story?

Hope you got a chance to visit the Murrah Memorial … It is considered one of the finest memorials ever built because of the way it honors every individual lost in the bombing … and the times inscribed on the portals at the ends of the reflecting pool are meant to express how little time it takes to change the lives of thousands of people …

My cousin was the last body recovered from the building … had the bombing happened 10 minutes sooner 5 other relatives of mine with government jobs that had offices in the Murrah Building would have still been in the present in the building … forunately they had left for field work … 2 of those 5 were my cousin’s son and daughter …

One TSA idiot dug around in my wifes bag and pulled out a pair of tweezers, holding it up and loudly saying “Ah HA” like he had found a bomb. My wife sarcastically said What am I going to do, tweeze someone to death? The TSA guy got a blank look on his face and put them back in the bag. I have nothing good to say about that whole lot of retatrds, and the bosses that make the stupid rules. If I am within 1000 miles of a location I will not fly.

I agree. There’s no way I’d go back to that church after hearing Wright spew that kind of crap. I don’t believe that Barack agrees with what Wright says. I really don’t. But I can’t say the same for his wife. After reading her thesis from Princeton, you can sense that she’s an angry woman. And Barack, who was for all intents and purposes, raised in a white family, may have felt like the black half of him was missing. Michelle’s influence in his decision to attend that church and become close with Rev. Wright could have been a huge factor.
I don’t think Obama is an evil man or a racist. I think he’s someone who’s stuck between two very different worlds and hasn’t made the smartest of choices.

Thank God for that! I feel more confidence in America’s future knowing that McCain is leading by almost double digits over Hussein Obama.
Let’s brace ourselves, though, for some angst by the MSM. On the radio home today, I heard some guy whining that America is “not yet capable” of electing a “black” president. If we reject a Marxist/Islamic radical who is married to a woman who hates America and has loved his preacher so much that he never left the church, then we are “not capable” of electing a black.
One last thing: Obama is not “black,” if the term means black American culture. He is a foreigner, with foreign Marxist/Islamic values.
I disagree. He is no “victim.” He has rejected American values and has embraced foreign Marxist/Islamic values. The guy is truly scary and creepy. There is this picture going around that shows Hussein Obama refusing to salute the flag or wear a flag lapel pin. He has no patriotism and people are finally realizing this fact.

For me and other conservatives this year, it’s ‘Constitution Party‘ supporter so get your facts straight. We won’t be voting for McCain no matter what, and then support a REAL conservative in 2012. It’s likely to be closer to 20% when you count all the conservatives who will be sitting out.
