Thursday afternoon free-for-all
I was in Oklahoma City today to give a Town Hall series lecture. Wonderful weather, wonderful people. Sorry I didn’t have more time to spend in town. Anyway, I just got frisked in secondary screening and thanked the TSA agent for taking her job seriously. Wish more folks in Washington would.
I’ll be getting on a plane soon–I hope–so here’s your Thursday afternoon open thread. I updated the Obama grandma post with the WIP AM audio.

If, as Obama says, he doesn’t agree with pastor Wright’s outrageous, bigoted, racist and hate-filled diatribes, I wonder if he sat his kids down after church each time this came happened and told them how wrong Wright was?
Seems really doubtful to me.
I watched the flick American History X tonight. Edward Norton was a truly evil Nazi skinhead to killed two blacks who were in process of stealing his vehicle and he ended up in prison. It appears his own racism got a real start when he father was murdered by blacks. Anyway eventually he had an epiphany and gave up his evil racist ways. My question is just what changes had B. Hussein Obama wrought in his own black separtist church in 20 years of attendance and financial support? How can he possibly bring the races together when he did absolutely nothing to stifle the venomous rhetoric in his own church? Seems to me he bent over backwards to accomodate the Rev. Wright in his life and campaign. So would an Obama administration feature the same tired old liberals from yesteryear along with a bevy of angry, racist black supporters?
Btw, the trolls around here tonight are truly insufferable. It is amazing to me that with all the thousands of posts over at LGF, the trolls don’t have much of a presence. I’d like to know where the trolls here normally congregate…Kos, DU, Huffington, moron.org, codepinko, ANSWER? It’s amazing with what strides have been made in mental health, that losers like lgm and the other side, leadedcretin and others have not sought help.

standing with her eyes closed and one arm up like I have seen some Protestant worshippers do. I also
heard that if he missed a church service, he listened
to the sermon on tape.
Whether he or HRC gets the nomination doesn’t make
a lot of difference. They are interchangeable.

I finished the day 14 of 16. Missed the Kansas State – USC game and the Kentucky – Marquette game.
Just saw Newt on H&C rerun; he said Obama’s big speech on race was “one-sided”. That’s the best one-word critique of it I’ve heard so far. For example, I don’t recall him saying anything about the black community’s own problems or how they’re dealing with them. Newt suggests Obama read Bill Cosby or Shelby Steele. LOL.

Well, Michelle, it’s too late for you now, but there is an excellent museum in Oklahoma City called the 45th Infantry Division Museum. The 45th ID fought in WWII, where it captured one of Hitler’s hangouts. They have Hitler’s cloak, other pieces of his clothing, some of his lamps, dinnerware, and whatnot. Life Magazine took a photo of a 45th GI laying in Hitler’s bed, reading Mein Kampf. The museum has the distinctive table lamp in that photo in the exhibit, next to the photo.
I’m also wondering why the TSA would need to frisk you. Where exactly is a skinny little girl like you going to hide a bomb? It’s not like they’re gonna need to frisk you to spot it. They’ll be able to spot it at twenty paces.
I’m also curious about this photo of you in the ad on the right of your website where you’re sitting in a park with your hair done, sitting on a bench, blogging away on your laptop. Have you given up your closet and taken to wandering from park to park to do your blogging? This new homeless blogging approach has me a little worried for you.

I am still hanging in here at 16-0 after day one … day two should get tougher and more interesting as there seem to be some more evenly matched pairings on the schedule … only second time I have ever made it through day one without missing any …
shocker would have been had Duke lost … did not see that possibility coming … personally I think they really got outplayed but got their usual late game breaks that always seem to happen to them and UNC in a close game to pull it out … Belmont gave them all they could handle … easily best game of the day …

Does anyone remember that Obama campaigned for Byrd in 2005? This guy seems throughly confused. In between Sunday sermons of white hate, he is out supporting Mr. “Grand Wizard” of the KKK! Well, if he can also get an endorsement from the KKK, he’ll have the radical black and radical white all in his camp. It’s only a matter to deny them both publicly,thank them privately,and win the moderates.

Did anyone see this most fortunate news about NY’s state legislature finally taking steps to protect against libel tourism? I was glad to see that an important law like this was finally realized.
I think I’ll also plug four comic book fansites I built (mostly from scratch, as I still haven’t learned much about graphics design, but I’m still proud of my efforts): Hawkfan, The Greatest Thing on Earth, The Outer Observatory, and Earth’s Mightiest Heroines.
And I might as well have my say about awful Obama too: I’m glad if he’s plummeting. I’ve read some of the news about the ghastly pastor he’s been worshiping, and it made me sick too. I don’t like Hillary either, but clearly, he’s the worse of the two.

With so many on welfare and counting on uncle sam, anytime a conservative proposes entitlement reform, they are branded a racist.

The column spouts the usual Hamas propaganda defending terrorism as legitimate resistance. The column was published on the “pastor’s page” of the Trinity Church bulletin on July 22, 2007 and posted online here by Bizzyblog yesterday. Perhaps most revealing is the church bulletin’s own subhead over the column: “An official of the movement describes its goals for all of Palestine.” You know, “all of Palestine,” including Israel, whose right to exist Hamas denies and which it seeks to “liberate” for Islam.

“We’re having our protest at Civic Center,” said a livid Glenn Spagnuolo, a lead organizer for the group Re-create 68. “We’re not going to give up Civic Center park to the Democrats. . . . They are creating a very dangerous situation.”

I bet Hillary ends up getting the nomination as it becomes more and more clear that Obama cannot win a general election. This passport controversy is the latest demonstrating that Obama has much to hide.
Republicans are almost always far behind in polls this far from elections because of the nonstop MSM propaganda for the Democrat. For McCain to have near double-digit leads has to scare Democrats.
Well didn’t these guys recently endorse BHO? A winks degree of separation. Do I think BHO agrees with them. No of course not. The cult he and his family have been members of for the last 20 years does but I’m sure he feels differently. I think you’re right. They want an open-borders socialist, but they don’t want a black open borders socialist. In Mexico racism against blacks is common and I don’t think many hispanics are feeling “white guilt” toward the radical blacks Obama is so cozy with.

This conservative will be voting for McCain. I don’t personally like the man like you personally like Obummer. I don’t think Obummer is the personification of the American Dream or a family man.

I enjoy political discourse. I check a number of blogs and news sources daily, both on the left and the right. I leave comments when I have a sincere opinion on a topic, or when I feel disinformation is being passed around. I’ve read a number of books suggested by right-wing sites and by my conservative parents (The Looming Tower, America Alone, and currently on my mother’s suggestion The Truth About Muhammad by Spencer). I try to keep an open mind. How many commentors here have done likewise? I am not a radical liberal as Gabe suggested, but rather am center-left. I tend more to the left on social issues, and more to the center on ecomonic ones.
Sometimes frustrated yes, but not angry and if you read through threads I post in, I think you’ll find that I don’t come off as angry as Gabe and certain other posters. Unfortunately, when I bring up a counter argument, I am immediately labeled as a radical liberal troll, and am rarely responded to by any reasonable argument against my point.

I am angry, angry at what has become of our country and the direction it is heading.
I had the honor of spending from 1987 to 2006 in the military, stationed in and around Germany. My first assignment was, 1983-1984 in Korea.
What I know is the socialist policies of Germany. The people benefitting from the hand outs of the high tax system love it. Those that work and pay for the free loaders resent the welfare given to those that don’t work.
The germans that don’t work are entitled to nearly the same pay and benefits as those that are actually working and paying the crazy taxes they have.
The plus side of the German welfare way is that they are much tougher on fraudulent claims.
In Germany if the state is supporting you, they reserve the right to unbridled access to your home and bank accounts.

Here’s the thing about your approach to blogs like Michelle’s, if you respond to posters like Gabe with insults, you in return will receive likewise. Again, you and other “visitors” have a tendency of “labeling.” You don’t like labels, so why are you using them on posters like Gabe or Rooster?
You want open dialogue but from what I’ve seen on this thread all you offered up was one linked article from an Israel journalist proclaiming his love for Obummer. I’m not sure that that’s what you mean by “discourse.” From what I saw from some of the poster comments on YNet (from which you linked I think) this journalist’s feelings aren’t the total representation of the Israeli people.
Another thing… I’ve looked through your posts and here’s my advice (for what it’s worth). Insulting Gabe and calling him names is not “political discourse.” If you want open dialogue keep it away from the personal aspersions. If not… you’re acting no better than some of our other fine “visitors” from left-wing land.

Are you saying that Gabe “slung the mud” first because he said something “bad” against Obummer? Or do you mean he cast a personal aspersion against Olympian first? If you’re basing your comment on the exchange between you and Gabe (unless I read the thread out of order), then the only person who slung the mud first was you. I do believe you called Gabe “delusional.”
Gabe doesn’t trust Obummer. Frankly, neither do I. You slung the mud at him because he thoroughly despises Obummer. At least he’s honest. There’s people going around supporting Obummer for very nebulous reasons having nothing to do with whether or not he’s qualified. Some of them are racial, others are social, and for others they’re hopeful.
As far as I can see, there was no reason for you to defend yourself… just Obummer. Unless you think that your positions and Obummer’s beliefs are interchangeable. At any rate I think you’re protesting a tad too much.
I do not trust Obama, Clinton or McCain. But one of
these is going to be our president and in my book, it

I’m actually surprised that Gabe hasn’t been banned. Michelle issues a pretty stern warning on Obama bashing related to his name and false assertions that he’s Muslim. Gabe is about as far out in left field (or should I say right field?) as one can be. He reminds me a lot of some of the loons on DKos. Not surprised to see emjem defending him BTW.
