Hey, the DKos are having their problems. The Clintonistas are peeved. They feel they are getting a raw deal at DKos. They were talking about "boycotting" it and
were told TS go right ahead.

I'm actually surprised that Gabe hasn't been banned. Michelle issues a pretty stern warning on Obama bashing related to his name and false assertions that he's Muslim. Gabe is about as far out in left field (or should I say right field?) as one can be. He reminds me a lot of some of the loons on DKos. Not surprised to see emjem defending him BTW.

I do not trust Obama, Clinton or McCain. But one of
these is going to be our president and in my book, it
needs to be McCain because at least he is not a
socialist.

emjem24,

Fair enough and good advice. Please not however, that Gabe slung the mud first and I felt the right to defend myself. In hindsight, I should not have done so in a name-calling, labeling manner.

Are you saying that Gabe "slung the mud" first because he said something "bad" against Obummer? Or do you mean he cast a personal aspersion against Olympian first? If you're basing your comment on the exchange between you and Gabe (unless I read the thread out of order), then the only person who slung the mud first was you. I do believe you called Gabe "delusional."

Gabe doesn't trust Obummer. Frankly, neither do I. You slung the mud at him because he thoroughly despises Obummer. At least he's honest. There's people going around supporting Obummer for very nebulous reasons having nothing to do with whether or not he's qualified. Some of them are racial, others are social, and for others they're hopeful.

As far as I can see, there was no reason for you to defend yourself... just Obummer. Unless you think that your positions and Obummer's beliefs are interchangeable. At any rate I think you're protesting a tad too much.

#134...It's a praying mantis. Probably a female that has just eaten and devoured her
poor mate. I never knew that they were so colorful or could dance. She's is just so
blooming happy!!!!!! I could not resist sharing the picture with everyone. She really
made me smile with her celebration.
The New London, CT story is really a morality lesson for the rest of us. The council
in New London is acting exactly like the pols in DC. No matter what, they just don't
listen.

TheOtherSide:

Sometimes frustrated yes, but not angry and if you read through threads I post in, I think you’ll find that I don’t come off as angry as Gabe and certain other posters. Unfortunately, when I bring up a counter argument, I am immediately labeled as a radical liberal troll, and am rarely responded to by any reasonable argument against my point.

Here's the thing about your approach to blogs like Michelle's, if you respond to posters like Gabe with insults, you in return will receive likewise. Again, you and other "visitors" have a tendency of "labeling." You don't like labels, so why are you using them on posters like Gabe or Rooster?

You want open dialogue but from what I've seen on this thread all you offered up was one linked article from an Israel journalist proclaiming his love for Obummer. I'm not sure that that's what you mean by "discourse." From what I saw from some of the poster comments on YNet (from which you linked I think) this journalist's feelings aren't the total representation of the Israeli people.

Another thing... I've looked through your posts and here's my advice (for what it's worth). Insulting Gabe and calling him names is not "political discourse." If you want open dialogue keep it away from the personal aspersions. If not... you're acting no better than some of our other fine "visitors" from left-wing land.

I have two sites today...one will really, really tick you off, especially at SCOTUS and
their ruling on eminent domain and the other will tickle your funnybone if you are
someone that can appreciate a Truly Happy Bug!

Other side,

I am angry, angry at what has become of our country and the direction it is heading.

I had the honor of spending from 1987 to 2006 in the military, stationed in and around Germany. My first assignment was, 1983-1984 in Korea.

What I know is the socialist policies of Germany. The people benefitting from the hand outs of the high tax system love it. Those that work and pay for the free loaders resent the welfare given to those that don't work.

The germans that don't work are entitled to nearly the same pay and benefits as those that are actually working and paying the crazy taxes they have.

The plus side of the German welfare way is that they are much tougher on fraudulent claims.

In Germany if the state is supporting you, they reserve the right to unbridled access to your home and bank accounts.

SO WHY ARE YOU HERE?

I enjoy political discourse. I check a number of blogs and news sources daily, both on the left and the right. I leave comments when I have a sincere opinion on a topic, or when I feel disinformation is being passed around. I've read a number of books suggested by right-wing sites and by my conservative parents (The Looming Tower, America Alone, and currently on my mother's suggestion The Truth About Muhammad by Spencer). I try to keep an open mind. How many commentors here have done likewise? I am not a radical liberal as Gabe suggested, but rather am center-left. I tend more to the left on social issues, and more to the center on ecomonic ones.

By the way, I don’t think Gabe, or rooster, or anybody else is nearly as angry as you think.

TheOtherSide:

Gabe,

I do support Obama, but I am far from being a radical liberal. Although, you seem to fit the mold of a radical. Angry posts, check, angry blog, check, career student, check.

Then why are you here? To get a sniff of "the other side?" By the way, I don't think Gabe, or rooster, or anybody else is nearly as angry as you think. Nice try with those assumptions. Why is it when you can't engage somebody you need to come up with a creative picture of who you think that person is (or isn't)?

So you don't like Gabe. We get it. So you think that Michelle's blog is "angry." Check. So you think us conservatives and other like-minded people who have issues with Obummer are "angry." Check.

Stop being so bent out of shape, TheOtherSide. We don't want kiss Obummer's feet. He's not the second coming of Kennedy. Get over it. If you can't understand the real reasons why people don't like Obummer, I'm sure you can find a cozy blog of his supporters on the net.... somewhere, anywhere, but here.

SO WHY ARE YOU HERE?

olympian2008:

For me and other conservatives this year, it’s ‘Constitution Party‘ supporter so get your facts straight. We won’t be voting for McCain no matter what, and then support a REAL conservative in 2012. I’m going to be part of the 10%+ of those 63 million votes Bush got in 2004 that will not go to McCain this year. It’s likely to be closer to 20% when you count all the conservatives who will be sitting out.

This conservative will be voting for McCain. I don't personally like the man like you personally like Obummer. I don't think Obummer is the personification of the American Dream or a family man.

It's interesting how you deride Gabe even though he brings up some good points. I think that Obummer is a Marxist if not an outright Islamist. I don't think he will be really good at representing all of us when he makes misguided decisions.

You are tooting Obummer's horn, Olympian. Pure and simple. That's your choice. I think you're as in the tank for him as Gabe is against him. Hey, it's your choice, your peril.

When we really shake it all out, there's not much difference between McCain and Obama, Republican and Democrat. Except in regards to the military and the economy.

Have fun with your protest vote... this military spouse has a lot more to lose than you do. You may be also surprised how many conservatives "come around." The "Constitution Party' vote won't save us from disaster either... if there is even that kind of option this year.

This Obamagasm we're having is great.

I haven't had anywhere to focus my deep insecurities and venom since the shamnesty debates!

Let's keep it going!
