I was in Italy (almost as south as you can get) and England. I’m not talking about getting jobs or dealing with the governments. And it doesn’t matter if you are black or white. It was subtle and hints could be dropped and things implied about things that sometimes made you wonder if you had just heard what you had just heard.

I have worked in San Francisco for 30 years. It’s people like these that have ruined this city, and given it the most leftist “government” in America.
The city “leaders” spend most of their time pandering to the looney left, while the middle class has deserted this place in droves. There are still the rich, of course, who can afford private schools. But the ordinary middle class is gone to the burbs.
The schools are politicized, with leftist protests on campus, aided by teachers and staff.
Our bus system is horrible, we have legions of bums, and the left is working as hard as possible to drive out business. Due to the lefties who constantly move here, we now have the highest minimum wage in CA, mandatory sick pay for all employees, city-funded healthcare paid for by taxing businesses, etc. Businesses are fleeing and telling people why, but no one is listening. They’re busy worrying about the transexual vote.
It’s a disgrace.

LGM,,, you were questioning Pat Robertson and his issue with gays. I imagine Robertson was thinking of Sodom and Gomorrah when he made his claim. God hates all sin but loves the sinner. He has given us many chances to stop sinning but apparently Sodom went too far and Robertson doesn’t want the USA to share the same fate.
There is a young Army Specialist named Dustin Chapman that is about to be buried in Arlington, TX. Dustin, from what I have heard of him was a
loving, wonderful, person who died in Iraq. He died so that this woman
can stand on a street with her sign and peacefully protest. He would agree
with her right to do so, though I do believe her sentiment would have made him so terribly sad.
I hope the rise in Catholic immigrants gets that place back to a more moral standing. Hopefully, the childless, barren-wombed liberals will just breed themselves out of existence in the Bay Area.

I am getting tired of the “typical San Franciscan” comments. The people who carry around the signs and get the soundbites are the minority. Most of the people living in the San Francisco Bay Area, work at our jobs, worry about getting our kids into decent schools, pay our bills and whether our kids will come home alive from Iraq. In my high school, during the height of the Vietnam War, we had many graduates enlist, myself included. So please, if you want to make fun of the loons with the signs, feel free, but don’t lump the rest of them with decent people. We’ve earned that respect.

You’re implying that you’re upset that MM characterized these photos as typical San Francisco. Think about it. Is that what is really concerning you? I’m sure MM has rationale for considering it typical San Francisco. Even if she did have a reason to call Phelps a typical Kansan, would you really gripe about her NOT including that fact in her critical piece of him?
And that’s exactly what she is reacting to in this situation. I fail to see ANY hypocrisy here. Maybe it would be more credible for you to bring this up in an open thread.
First you criticize MM for not writing about Phelps, then, when I link to one of her many blog pieces about him, you criticize her for a comment that she WOULDN’T have made IF Phelps had said something different???????

P.S. Please provide the Pat Robertson quote that you are referring to. I’m not implying that I don’t believe he may have said something close to your paraphrase, but I thought he usually stated that ‘God hates sin, but still loves the sinners.’
