AP, REUTERS, MSM as a whole. Integrity is out the door. These groups of liberal idiots must resign. Newspapers must take their hits for their lies, all of them. My local paper is about one-half what it used to be. And the only people who write in are left-wing whack jobs. I only read the comics now.

“…blogs will continue sprouting like crab grass throughout the electronic ether. Soon, the line separating quality journalism from utter hokum will be too blurry to discern.”

David Lazarus was right; he just failed to realize which side of the line his, and other MSM publications, would fall.

I think I am going to make up a new word for this: schadenfreudilicious!

"Pulitzer prize winning" is a big a death knell to a career as tenure is to a professor. It means "Don't you know who I am?" and "How dare you question my veracity?"

It is sweet justice when these lazy, biased slobs get their comeuppance!

I wonder what would be the results if the media were actually objective and did not present opinions and theories as real news?

Suppose the terrorists did not have a NY Times to beat abu graib to death for weeks on end or expose national security secrets? Or a CIA and State Dept. not blatently Arabist?

What is the percentage of informed citzenry who actually still believe the drivel that courageous puke Dan Blather tried to foist on the public? I get sick of hearing how that disgusting propagandist Michael Moore is a great American for revealing the truth about corporations and the government.

So isn't it possible that like Walter Durante going back to the 30s if not earlier , a portion of "great Pulitzer- winning journalists" have presented bogus stories? In a case of art imitating life, this past final season of The Wire had a Baltimore Sun newsguy making up and elaborating on a bogus story about serial murders. Ok, he did not know that detective McNulty created the appearance of serial homeless murders, but the reporter certainly dressed the story up and created his own dialogue, etc. And that reporter wins a Pulitzer when all the mature is shoveled out of sight to protect various butts in city government.
Would be great if some enterprising reporter or criminalist could go back and weed out some of the past BS propaganda swallowed by a gullible public.

Nobody should be surprised by what appears in the left wing newspaper known as the LA Times. This is the same newspaper whose MidEast reporter makes Al Jazeera look like the Weekly Standard. She wrote an article which claimed that in 1948, Israel expelled "millions of Palestinians". This was physically impossible since there were not even "million of Palestinians" even if Israel had "expelled" every single one, as she charged. The LA Times angrily ran a correction after it got some bad press over this tall tale. The LA Times also is the same newspaper that invited the infamous Walt and Mersheimer to write for the LA Times editorial page and recently invited the terrorist Marzook from Hamas to be an occasional guest columnist for the LA Times. Only in the crazy world of the LA Times could Marzouk, who was expelled from the US and not allowed to enter Jordan, invited to be a guest columnist. Some of us wrote to the editorial page editor of the LA Times asking him what qualifies Marzouk, who plots terrorist attacks from his safehouse in Damascus, to be an LA Times guest columnist. The LA Times editorial page editor thinks that Marzouk has an intereting point of view. Yep, defending putting bombs filled with ball bearings on a suicide bomber and putting the terrorist on a school bus filled with eight years old is surely an "interesting point of view". Way to go, LA Times. Next time, why not invite Ben Laden to be your occasional guest columnist.

LA Times reporter Chuck Philips said:

I now believe the truth here is that I got duped.

No,no,no Chuck. That's the journalism equivalent of, "the dog ate my homework."

I'd go with either, "It's been a long career, I'm sleep deprived and I've been coming under severe sniper fire," or "I'm only human."

Maybe Chuck felt that Sabatino's previous case history of fraud and identity theft gave his source instant "street cred."

Philips, a Pulitizer Prize winning writer, worked on the article for 6 months and never suspected a thing. Wow.

From "Scoop Dog" to "Dupe Dog" in the blink of an eye. Maybe he's going for the P.U.-litizer.

If it weren't for the blogs John Kerry would be president right now. Dan Rather and CBS tried to influence an election by using documents they knew were forgeries. Somebody should have gone to jail in that fraud.
