According to an article in Salon, he only bowled seven frames. (but I can't get the link to work anymore):
http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2008/04/01/bowling

He had recently left a rally in Pittsburgh with ex-Steelers Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis. He should have taken Bettis with him to Altoona (where he bowled the 37); Jerome is an excellent bowler.

For the record, it's candlepiin bowling in which three balls are thrown for each frame (called a "box" up there in New England). Additionally, fallen pins are not cleared away between balls. Duckpin bowling is played and scored the same as tenpin bowling, with two balls per frame.

That "rail thingy" is a valuable part of the sport for the severely handicapped; and it's also preferred by some wheelchair bound bowlers with otherwise normal abilities.

To answer the question about why he'd do it if he hadn't bowled before, the only one I could come up with is that he thought "It's only a game dumb crackers play, how hard could it be?"

How hard could it be, indeed?

I just have a hard time imagining a grown man not able to break 50. My first game back in fifth grade was something like 76. That's just super embarassing, but he probably couldn't have cared less, since it's just a game dumb crackers play.

The more I find out about this guy, the less plausible I find it that he can possibly become president. First he turns out to be so far to the left, he makes George McGovern look like Barry Goldwater, then there's the Tony Rezko business, and his race-baiting America-hating pastor of his, and his terrorist friend from the Weather Underground, and the Black Panthers, and the Million Man March with Farrakhan, etc...etc...

Seriously, when are the Democrats going to finally tell us that this has all been a huge practical joke, and tell us who they're REALLY going to nominate for president? Andrew Jackson has to be spinning like a gyroscope in his grave.

I was wondering what a guy who can’t hit 10 pins with a large ball thinks of a strategy to shoot missles out of the sky. It stands to reason that if Barack finds it difficult to keep a bowling ball out of the gutter, he might think a missle defense shield is impossible.

You might want to go to his web site. There you will find absolutely nothing about missle defense. As a matter of fact, you will find nothing about national defense.

I saw a Barrack ad today and realized he looks just like Alfred E Neuman. This will also occur to Democrats in about 3 years when they wake up and consider 'What were we thinking?'

It's the what wakes them up that has me worried.
