Thank you, EWTHeckman. Well said. The thing about “gray thinkers” that I find a bit hypocritical and shifty is that it all boils down to the following: who’s necessary and who’s not? If they applied their idea of life to certain people, the likes of Stephen Hawking would not exist.

Liberals like rules as long as they don’t apply to them. Liberals have become a privileged class in America that can’t be challenged. They can determine if a child at a particular school district can celebrate Christmas or Winter Holiday. They can determine if you can put a Christmas tree in a public square or not.

After liberals have determined who is necessary to keep and who to get rid of, they then can determine how that life should be spent (and how it should be supported). This is why abortion and the meaning of life go hand in hand.

While I like the “no liberal” rule, I recognize that this is someone else’s blog. I respect Michelle’s decision and don’t wish her to change it. Then she would be as exclusive as DKos and Huff n’ Puff.

What I find interesting, is that “liberals” or those of the left persuasion who assert they love the gray zone, seem to be guilty of judging those they accuse of doing likewise. This is why Michelle keeps you and others around. Irony is part of the human condition as is comedy and you and your fellow “travellers” provide both.

So much of it is the result of the ensnaring, inescapable hold of the socialist/secularist – indeed, nihilist – worldview.

I believe it was a comment on the dust jacket; or perhaps in the foreword, or preface, etc of Paul Johnson’s excellent book “Intellectuals”: paraphrased, it said that the writings and philosophies of intellectuals over the past 200 years or so are essentially no more than their efforts at justifying their (aberrant) behavior.
