Triple-snort-worthy photo of the day: “Hugo Chávez con orejas.”
A tipster points me to this hilarious photo of Hugo Chavez unintentionally (or not?) Disney-fied by a Reuters photographer.
Apparently, Chavez is incensed and called the photograph an act of “terrorism.”
My tipster e-mails: “This must be the first time Reuters ever did anything right.”
Noticias 24 even has a poll asking readers whether they think the photo is funny or terroristic.
Go vote.

Requires warning, not safe for viewing in class or in a meeting!!!!!! I just got in trouble!
So, Hugo, what are you going to do after you take over the world? All together now, “I’m going to Disneyworld!”
He looks normal to me! Which button should we select to vote?
You owe me a keyboard, Michelle; coffee everywhere.
I translated it, the second button.
Aw schucks. It’s Mickey Mouse. I love it!!
zorro,
what does the 3rd option say?
“Now’s the time to say goodbye to all our company.
M-I-C
See you real soon!
K-E-Y
Why? Because we like you!
M-O-U-S-E.”
While I always suspected that Chavez was a member of the rodent family, I thought it was more like the rat than the mouse. I did consult a rodent information site and was distressed to discover that “because of their high reproductive rates and ability to invade many habitats, rodents are able to spread and multiply quickly.” On the good side, however, it was also noted that “population, however, may soon crash because of predation, disease and food shortages.” Spot on for Hugo!
la la la
M.I.C….K.E.Y…..
YUGOOO IS A TOOLLLLL…..
From what little Spanish I know, here’s a summary of the poll:
Is the picture disrespectful of Chavez?
1: Yes
2: No, it’s just humor.
3: No, it’s just a coincidence.
If anyone wants to correct my summary, please feel free.
He throws that word around to describe everything he deems adverse to his “character.” Terrorism - he doesn’t even know…
Good to see it wasn’t a drawing of Mohammad…there’d be demonstrations world wide, followed by be headings for shaming and disrespecting the leader the Culture of Death, Islam.
Amerpun - thanks, I’m glad I picked the right option. At least I think “humor” was the right option.
MICKEY MOUSE!
Narcissists do NOT like being made to look foolish.
I guess “terrorism” is taking a picture that makes you look humorous (as opposed to bat-sh* crazy), while “killing unarmed protesting students” is okay, if you’re the president of Venezuela?
Nice going, Chavez. Don’t worry, idiots in the U.S. will be wearing your t-shirts soon enough.
Terrorism?
He’s been chewing way too many coca leaves.
Mickey has white teeth.
Can’t correct it, that’s the same thing I came up with.
You’re dead-on.
And as of 15:04 on 2-APR-2008, here are the results. 2,828 votes cast total.
Disrespectful - 7% (205 votes)
Humourous - 37% (1,043 votes)
Coincidence/
Unintentional - 56% (1,580 votes)
Poor Chavez. I can hear his blood boiling all the way up in Ohio.
Hehehhehehhhheheheheehe
Actually, I think this would make a good poster, with the red circle and slash through it.
He could become the new poster-boy for contraceptives. “Always use protection, lest your children end up like this.”
Maybe I’m seeing this incorrectly…but shouldn’t the complaints be coming from Disney?
Or Hamas tv for impersonating that mouse that was beat to death by a Jew.
I would like a Tee shirt of that photo with some catchy phrase in spanish about La Raza heros.
Thanks for the afternoon belly laugh. Great for the digestion!
I long suspected he was a rat, now I have proof.
It’s further proven by his comparison of this picture to the flying of jets into skyscrapers and killing thousands of innocents.
update….
SI 7% (295 votes)
NO, las orejas son sólo algo de humor 38% (1,611 votes)
NO, las orejas son sólo casualidad 55% (2,341 votes)
comments are ‘unhinged’ also.
I think the devil horns have curled from too much……!
Fill in the blank.
My input: HEADBOBBING
That was funny! But if I was Disney, I would sue him. Terrorism? Well, he ought to know, he promotes a lot of it. I think it show him in his “true light”…an idiot, and a dangerous one too.
The photo itself is a crack up… but the article below it is a hoot!
…. Oh, my sides…
Help! I can’t find the ‘para ingles marque dos’ button!
Great pic.
Of course the photo is disrespectful. Mice everywhere should be offended by the comparison to a rat.
