Video: Politicians don’t “create jobs”

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 2, 2008 07:52 PM

I did a brief segment on Neil Cavuto earlier today about Hillary Clinton’s new jobs program. The woman can’t pay her campaign bills, but she’s a whiz at coming up with endless plans to spend your money “creating jobs.” It’s almost as annoying a Washington platitude as “managing the economy.” Oh, and if the Democrat Clinton supporter in this segment had said “investment” and “investing” one more time, I was ready to lose my lunch:

I like how they asked her at one debate about her history creating jobs in NY. She campaigned on the promise of creating X-amount of jobs after she was elected, and since her time in office NY actually has experienced negative job growth. She of course blamed it all on the Bush administration (Reflex, I’m sure).

    Michelle,

You are spot on. Only a socialist government creates jobs by taxing its citizens and redistributing.

Since when is it acceptable to believe that the government is capable of creating jobs? This is so dumb it is moronic. Lefties are so brain damaged from their drugs and anti-depressants that they aren’t fully connected to reality.

Wealthy entrepreneurs create jobs, government regulations, restrictions and high taxes drive them away.

I saw you there today. When asked, she ( clinton supporter) couldn’t answer but she instead went straight at the “Bush is bad” rant. They have NO idea how those millions of billions of jobs are going to materialize, but B.Hussein and theShill have some/many on the left convinced they’re gonna do it.
How shallow can they all be?

Them:We’re gonna change the world, add millions of jobs, take rich peoples money and give it to you, vote for me!
Then they’re asked: How ya gonna do it?
    Them : Bush is a bad guy….
    now, where were we?

Basically they are saying, hey, the economy is slowing down, let’s take more money out of the system by raising taxes! That is so stupid it should be the punch line on one of the late night shows!

i am amazed at how many people actually believe that Government create jobs. they want to make the ‘rich’ suffer by penalizing them through taxes and regulations. this is the mantra that has worked for the dems ever since i can remember, the 60’s was the beginning. now 40 years later, they are saying the same thing and there are still some stupid people out there believing it.

after what happened to the GOP party with McCan’t, i am beginning to think that truly the number of conservative thinkers is dwindling. i remember an economics professor teaching this and i argued with him, of course i was so outnumbered. i remember asking him if he really thought government created jobs and his answer was ‘yes, the government is the only one who can’. slap me silly. he was an economics teacher who taught at both USC and UCLA. He graduated from Cairo University, no surprise there.. hey?

Let’s see–we take $60-150 billion of our money to create jobs rebuilding the broke infrastructure consisting of roads and bridges. Utilizing the available labor pool, all this work is accomplished with people who are unskilled in this type of work. That means that by the time they’ve gone coast to coast and fixed everything we will have to transport them back to wherever they started and start the whole process again because everything they fixed will be broke again by then.
That ladies and gentlemen is a perpetual Democratic fix to the job solution in America.
By the way-everyone that had a real job and paid the extrordinary taxes will now be homeless and standing in food lines. All the ones who participated in the “infrastructure rebuilding” will be rich from being overpaid.

Never mentioned in the broken infrastructure scam is that the fed initially funds most of the construction, with the states responsible for the maintenance. Usually the maintenance $$’s get used for more important things like welfare, or redistribution. Then when maintenance funds gone, get more tax payer money courtesy of our elected critters.

HAHA Another one that buys that “Jobs Americans don’t want to do” crap. It’s only partially correct. It’s jobs Americans won’t do for PEANUTS! In this country, we expect to get paid a decent wage for work like that. It’s the “Down South in the country ILLEGALLY” workers that are undercutting our LEGAL workers and making them non-competitive in the job market.I’m sick of hearing about jobs Americans won’t or don’t want to do. I blame the employers for being cheap. Cut off the head of the snake, the snake will die.

The Queen of Unqualified for the Position is seriously suggesting we take unemployed and unqualified and untrained (not to mention some poorly educated) people and use them to fix our nation’s infastructure? I’ve listened to the same leftist drivel for most of my adult life, and it still surprises me when no one calls them on it. Where were all these “investments in infrastructure” when they were the ones holding the legislative and executive branches of government?

Make them decide…money for more social engineering programs, or money for infrastucture? Add all the illegals coming over the border, driving our roads, using social programs intended for OUR poor, and what do you get? Nada! Except maybe more new social programs to aid the “undocumented” who have not ever, nor will they ever pay their fair share the lefties are wont to eternally complain about.

The Fatal Conceit, according to Hayek, is that “man is able to shape the world around him according to his wishes.”

Hillary is just another in a long line of progressive eschaton immanentizers who fail to realize that the means they advocate will never achieve the ends they desire.

Has anyone looked at the “help wanted” ads lately, especially around D.C.? You can offer all the jobs you want, but if people want to sit at home, collect food stamps, unemployment checks, and welfare, there isn’t any amount of jobs that is going to get them off their front steps. Michelle was excellent in her views. That democrat could only play the same old stuff…it’s all Bush’s fault (forgetting the Congress which introduces and passes the legislation), the economy is dying, (which it isn’t) and that the only way to solve problems is to throw more and more of our hard-earned money at it, stand back, point, and say that the democrats are doing something. Besides, the unemployment rate is fine. Under Clinton, it was higher. When backed into a corner, they blame the “rich” for not paying their fair share. Well, I know who their “rich” is…it’s me and everyone else who pays taxes. Look at the figures.

QFT. That’s $310 million per person if they handed that out as a check. Do these people actually stop to think about what they’re saying?

What they need to do is:
    a) Explain how the government is going to create jobs.
    b) Show how the arrived at the $93 billion figure
    c) explain exactly where that money is going to come from. It is not sufficient to hand wave and say that we’ll tax the rich. Define “rich” and define how much tax you’re going to levy.

Once that is all out in the open, anyone with any semblance of a brain will jump out of the Clinton/Obama camp.

Repairing our infrastructure is necessary. Oklahoma has some of the worst roads in the country. But, I wonder what is her plan for doing that. New Orleans was given money for update and repair their levee system. They squandered it on other things, then blamed Bush for not updating and repairing their levee’s.
Also, why is their solution for everything “Raise taxes on the wealthy”? Sean Hannity has said that he never got a job from a poor person. So many of those liberals are also some of the wealthiest people. If they honestly believe they should be paying more, then lets see them lead by example, and write a million dollar check to the Government. Otherwise, shut your face!

Hillary’s and Barack’s penchant for “change” to nowhere is proof.
