Obama adviser: Between 60,000 and 80,000 troops in Iraq by the end of 2010

Sure, Obama says, he’s just one adviser out of many. But as you look through the article, you’ll see that this isn’t the first prominent Obamadviser to hint that “all troops out of Iraq” doesn’t actually mean “all troops out of Iraq”.
Obama himself is talking about maintaining a little “strike force”:
Both Clinton and Obama have talked about keeping some U.S. presence in Iraq after withdrawing the bulk of American troops, but it’s unclear how broad that presence would be. Obama’s Web site states that “some troops” would stay in Iraq to protect U.S. embassies and diplomats and carry out targeted strikes on Al Qaeda if the organization tries to keep a base in Iraq after U.S. withdrawal.
Obama talked about keeping a “strike force” in the region Monday. That drew questions from McCain who asked, “Where are they based? What do they do? Now I’m intrigued. He has said he will pull out all troops before. How do you reconcile those two?”
Strike Force! sure sounds cooler than “Leaving troops stationed in the middle east, re-invading every time Al Qaeda establishes a foothold or the Mahdi Army takes over a town”, I’ll grant him that much. And stationing it somewhere in “the Middle East” sounds closer than “Okinawa“.
Hey, you know where would be a good place to maintain a Strike Force! to watch over our interests in the Middle East and keep an eye on Iran and Syria?

Maybe by saying Strike Force! he was saying that he is going to try to get them unionized. I don’t think we have to worry too much about him pulling out the troops. Democrats aren’t too good at pulling out of anything. That is why they fight for abortion so hard.

This isn’t even the worst of what Obama would do as the Commander in Chief. Get a load of what he has said he would do to our strategic arms programs (antiballistic missiles, nuclear weapons, advanced laser weapons, etc.), namely that he would dramatically cut or terminate such programs.
Why aren’t the MSM asking him to describe his position clearly on these life and death issues??!!!

Am I missing something here? I don’t think there’s much of a story. Just because some adviser wrote some memo doesn’t mean that B.O. will change his position on the subject.
In fact, it gives him an opportunity to appear like a darling of the far left (and make him look good to many other Americans) by saying, “I don’t care what these advisers are saying, I fully intend to remove our troops within 16 months.”
Thats double-speak for, “I’ve spent too much time on the road instead of in the senate and missed every intel brief.”
First he’s for pulling out all the troops and now he’s for leaving some there. Did he borrow some shoes from John Kerry?
I still remember all those pink flip-flops that got draped over John Kerry’s campaign signs here in 2004. The Democrats here were going nuts and crying vandalism. They were so disappointed that Tennessee Code Annotated was seen as “a living, breathing document”, like they like to construe the Constitution, so they could alter the placement of those flip-flops as “vandalism”.

That’s the problem with these nutroots. Documents such as those mentioned above are interpreted and reinterpreted at different times to mean what they want it to mean at the time they want it to mean it to support whatever they are for or against.

I am for it as long as the strike force will go after Al Qaeda and where they are coming from … Saudi Arabia. And, where they are hiding … Pakistan.

Probably not a good idea since liberals think that Bush is responsible. I would say if you go after him a secret service agent will probably shoot you with a BB and knock half your brains out.
Yes, it is quite a bit different. When a lilly liver,spineless jellyfish like Obama and one out of many advisors says it, we get another chance to laugh at the liberals. I am sure Obama’s idea of a strike force looks more like a posse of those clowns in the Nation of Islam that wear those military uniforms. Now there is something to laugh at.
Fox news has just reported that Oboma has denounced this advisor and his plan.
This unprepared, inexperienced, obscure and arrogant politician scares me more every day. Actually, it’s more the people who are going to vote for him that scare me the most.
Read his book “Dreams of my Father” and you will have more insight into this person who is not what he presents himself to be.
CC I did read that “Dreams of my Father” and it is an eye opener. I actually received it from a cousin who thinks Barry can walk on water. I did read it and sent it back with a note telling him that the LSD he took in the 60’s while spitting on some of our other cousins must have really affected him greater than we all thought. If he couldn’t see Barry for what he was, then there is no help for him.
I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this but am sure it’s at the library.

Obama, like the Clintons, would never actually serve in the military (although Hillary lied and in 1994 said she tried to join the marines. In 2008, Bill Clinton lied and said Hillary tried to join the army). What Obama and the Clintons know about the military comes strictly from antimilitary movies or from video games. For Obama to come up with ridiculous notions like a “strike force” flying into Iraq, doing a quick mission and getting out just shows his abysmal ignorance. Since Obama owns the three networks, nobody will say to him: If Al Queda controls Iraq, how will you send in a “strike force”? How will you extricate the men on the mission? How will the mission be accomplished? Obama is just playing with his X-Box and thinks that this is all he needs to know because he did go to Harvard (something that Barack and Michelle never get tired of bragging about).
