Growing up in Memphis, I would turn to Ramirez’s cartoon in the Commercial Appeal’s section A before I’d turn to the other comics in section C. I can’t think of a more deserving choice for this award.

Ramirez’s best one’s are of McCain. His colorful descriptions and characterizations really hit the nail on the head.
The cartoons of Obama are pretty true too but they could be a little more biting. (like the one of Michelle Obama). I don’t think he was intentionally soft on Obama, but if you compare the Obama and McCain cartoons, you can see that, like many of the rest of us, he appears to be more angry and disappointed in McCain than Obama. Probably because betrayal hurts more than disgust.

I recognize Ramirez’s work from Townhall.com. I read through their editorial cartoons every now and then and his are always my favorite. He is very talented. Congratulations Mr. Ramirez.

Ramirez is a true artist. Here is an example of the childish cartoons by Clay Jones that appear in my hometown paper, the Free Lance Star This paper really needs to get another third-grader who has some drawing talent.

What? I suspect someone got snookered.

Perhsp the prize committee received a gag nomination from a Mr. el-Rushbo and mistaken the name for someone from CAIR. Naturally, they approved the award with even reviewing Ramirez’ work.

I have always admired Ramirez’ work.

I remember when I used to get the hard copy of National Review, always looking forward to his cartoons.

I’m thrilled he got the Pulitzer – VERY VERY WELL DESERVED!!!!
