We should boycott the entire games. I’m still trying to figure out how the heck China got the games. China’s poor human rights record should have taken them out of the running to begin with.

U.S. President George Bush is giving serious consideration to heeding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s suggestion that he boycott the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games in China. In the same way that even paranoids can have enemies, even evil morons….

I’m sorry…didn’t Mr. Hillary award China the title of “most favored nation” back when he was Prez?

And weren’t the conservatives at the time raising questions about how they could do this with all the human rights violations China commits and the media didn’t give a fig and nobody else addressed it, certinaly not the Libs.

And I also seem to recall that Hillary gave a speech to women in China where she never mentioned how they routinely abort their babies and some even kill them if it’s turns out they are girls and not boys for their “one baby” rule…

NOW THEY CARE?

Ace’s post makes a great point. Let’s boycott Snickers, just for the heck of it. When the President of Snickers Company asks why we are doing it, we’ll simply say, “You KNOW why” and refuse to discuss it further.

Maybe that would only be funny to me though .

The Olympics should always rise above what is happening in the world. PERIOD.

Except of course the counterintelligence opportunities we will have, that we have NEVER had before.

Once again the Clinton team shows that it would rather pander to the left around the world than take advantage of a golden opportunity.

I wonder how Hillary felt about this last week before the Mark Penn problems or the “mistake” about the Ohio hospital healthcare story. Yeah, the president shouldn’t go – Nancy and Hillary say. Sorry See-dub. We didn’t pick the Olympic location – the Olympic Committee did that a few years ago.

The president should go so that
(1) We are fully represented at the Olympics
(2) He can show his full support of our olympic atheletes
(3) He can see firsthand how the host country handles outsiders and protesters
(4) The (hot air) wind can be taken out of opportunistic Democrats who will find something else to complain about next week (think: The pre-emptive Nancy Pelosi warning/strike on General Petraeus’ testimony) just to keep their names in the headlines.

Futhermore, if The President were really shrewd, he’d take Sen. McCain with him.

Bush can go but only if he bound and gagged. As for boycotting the Olympics themselves, I am beginning to have my doubts. China’s whole foreign policy is focused on threatening and humiliating America. Did Hill and the “Pill” (Pelosi) object then? No, of course not. So they had their chance and said nothing so forget it (or other words starting with “f”). Let the athletes go. It won’t make any difference either way.
