That reluctance was, he argued, based on the particular historical sensitivity of the Jewish people, and Israel’s ability to avoid having their policies held up to international law and morality.
Riiiiiiiiight. No one ever complains about Israel. Especially at the UN.
This fellow is Professor Richard Falk. More about his appointment here. But really, I think this letter says it all. Excerpt:
I regard Professor Churchill’s scholarly work as having made major contributions in ethnic studies and with respect to Native Americans. This assessment is reinforced by Churchill’s worldwide reputation, as well as by the high regard with which he is held by students.
Yes, that is Ward Churchill he’s talking about.

Maybe we need Ward Churchill in the UN. Then maybe we would finally realize what an absurd organization it is and get the hell out.

His appointment is par for the course at the UN. It is noteworthy that repeated requests to fund renovations of the UN headquarters buildings have been blocked by Congress. Apparently, there are plenty of congressmen who feel that fixing up the place begins with fumigating the cockroach infestation.
Sad really. The UN was once a proud and respected organization.

The time at Princeton opened my eyes. The faculty was definitely to the far left of the student body. My impression was that a sizable portion of student body had little interest in politics, but that the radicals outnumbered the conservatives. As well, they were louder and ruder.

I remember thinking the UN was a horrible organization when I was 10 years old, back in 1989. Was I just a boy genius or were they collectively acting just a stupid then as they are now? I’m going to go with the latter…

The UN is a worthless and corrupt windbag society that is blatantly and shamelessly anti-American and anti-Israeli. This eunuch organization has never accomplished anything without American money and military might. It’s sole purpose is to provide more diplomatic spy slots in the U.S. for all foreign intelligence agencies. We should start by cutting off any U.S. funds, kick all of their worthless a**es out of the U.S., tell them to set up shop in some friendly destination, like Tehran, Havana, Khartoum, or Pyongyang, and tell them DLTDHYITAOTWO. Let’s set a U.S. foreign policy that has only one loadstar – what is in America’s best interest. Enter into bilateral or multilateral agreements with countries friendly to us, work directly with them, and not give a sh*t what the UN or our enemies (redundant) think.

This doesn’t surprise me. The U.N. hasn’t done anything, other than pass useless resolutions, pat each other on the back, and push very liberal socialist ideas around, not to mention the rampant corruption. Once a fine organization has turned into nothing more than a useless forum.

Richard Falk is a useless egghead who could only survive on a liberal elite college campus. He is a dried up old prune who is forever stuck in his glory days of the 1960s. Falk is the type of guy who has never been inside a diner, a bowling alley or a pool hall but fancies himself a working class hero. I guess his nonstop Israel bashing makes this wimp feel like a tough guy.
The UN is perhaps the greatest collection of America-bashing anti-Semites to have ever assembled in one location, at any one particular time, in the history of mankind!
In my view, the sooner we extricate our country from that cursed fraternity of “blame America and the Jews” for the world’s ills, the better.

Anyone who thinks the UN still has credibility after Iran was put on the Human Rights Committee (or Libya was named the head of it), isn’t going to have any trouble swallowing this kool-aid either.

I used to work for the UN, and this guys is an embarrassment both personally and professionally. Many organizations turn to UN agencies for reliable information.
Also, on a personal note, Churchill is just infuriating people. I grew up next to an Indian Reservation, and I’m multiracial, and I know tribes have looked into his so-called Native heritage and to my knowledge, haven’t found any genetic connection with him and a Native tribe.
Churchill was removed from his university job because of copyright infractions, which was at the same time he called the 9-11 victims “nazis.”
Real nice, huh? And here’s a UN guy backing him up.
And people wonder why Americans dislike the UN. Is it obvious to them NOW?

Every university department and every class that did not exist in 1965 should be eliminated from all college curriculums. These are destructive, empty exercises that teach resentment, victimhood, and self-pity. Every college and university is burdened with a huge Department of Crap made up of phony indoctrinational sessions such as those by Ward Churchill, Falk, Chomsky, et. al. Eliminate them all and make the ‘professors’ into janitors and lawn care agents.
Professor Richard Falk looks like a homeless long-term alcoholic.
