Jamiel’s Law: The revolt against L.A.’s illegal alien sanctuary policy

Law-abiding citizens of all colors are uniting against the targeting of innocent black residents of Los Angeles by illegal alien gangs. The parents of murdered high school student Jamiel Shaw met with L.A. public officials yesterday, urging them to rescind the city’s notorious Special Order 40–one of the nation’s oldest illegal alien sanctuary laws. Enough is enough:

The parents of Jamiel Shaw Jr., a high school football star who was gunned down by a reputed gang member just blocks from his home, urged Los Angeles city leaders today to go after criminals who are in the country illegally.

Pedro Espinoza, 19, allegedly shot and killed the 17-year-old Los Angeles High School student on March 2 in the 2100 block of Fifth Avenue, not far from the Shaw family’s Arlington Heights home. According to police, the shooting occurred one day after Espinoza was released from county jail, where he was serving time for assault with a deadly weapon.

U.S. immigration officials believe Espinoza, a member of the 18th Street gang, may have been in the country illegally.

“We have a problem with the system. My son was murdered by someone that was here illegally. No matter how you look at it, that’s what happened,” Jamiel Shaw Sr. told reporters before entering the Los Angeles City Council chamber.

Authorities do not know why Espinoza was not detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement upon his release from the county jail.

Because, as I’ve reported so many times over the past several years, catch and release remains the standard operating procedure of the day.

Jamiel Shaw Sr. said checking the legal status of criminals is not an issue of racial profiling.

Exactly.

“We’re after the gang members who are here illegally, and when they’re released from jail, they’re out in the community,” he said.

“The guy who killed my son was in custody. He had a long prison record … and he was let out without any kind of hearing. He was let out into the community on a Saturday night with no supervision and within 24 hours, he had gotten another gun.”

The teen’s mother, Anita Shaw, said she plans to attend Espinoza’s arraignment hearing tomorrow. She was serving in Iraq when her son was slain, and will ship out Thursday for duty in Kuwait and Germany.

“I’m safer, somewhat, in Iraq than my son is safe on the streets of the United States. It doesn’t make sense,” she told the City Council.

Walter Moore, an LA mayoral candidate, is crusading for Jamiel’s Law.

Go ahead, Geraldo. Call them racist. What are you going to do? Dare to threaten to spit on them?

Go ahead, La Raza. Call them hate-mongers. What are you going to do? Try and stop them from getting their message across?

Hey, Barack Obama. Where’s the honest dialogue about the racial crimes the Left doesn’t want to talk about? Will you march with the Shaw family–or with the illegal aliens again?

Innocent families of all races are sick and tired of the bloody consequences of open borders.

Enough is enough.

    (Pedro wasn’t in the database because he was able to pass himself off as a US citizen in previous brushes with the law.)

    but the subtle message that Jamiel’s Law wouldn’t work is pretty disgusting.

    So let me give your dumb a$$ a test. Please take the term Illegal Alien and replace it with Al Qaeda. For example, “Mr. Ansell, we can’t possibly deport 12-20 million Illegal Aliens” will now turn into “Mr. Ansell, we can’t possibly deport 12-20 million Al Qaeda”.

How many blacks are allowed 10’s if not a hundred crimes against society before being tried for being felons and who gives a hoot against a court system that allows this.     Murder is murder, no matter who commits it - but the fact that an illegal alien might have committed it(and, according to the story, it hasn’t been conclusively proved that the murderer is an illegal alien) makes it all the more abhorrent. If it proves out that he is in the country illegally, and that he has that many priors, then I hope they have a spot picked out for him up here in San Quentin on death row. If he’s returned to Mexico, how long do you think it’ll be before he’s back here with another gun in his hand?

    In any case, get him permanently off the streets.

    Looks like more and more like people are getting upset about the illegals and their law breaking. I sense violence in a lot of posts…as I’ve said before, it will happen, sooner than you think and it will be ugly.
    I understand the L.A. sanctuary policy was initiated to encourage the illegals to report crime without fear of being singled out…HUH? What does that mean? If their illegal should they not be singled out as illegal aliens? Now it’s got so a lot of American citizens are afraid to call the police because we don’t know how their going to react. Will they be politically correct or will they up hold the laws? This will result in the push for actions by the citizens…not knowing if you can trust your law enforcement officers to do the right thing.

    Outrage regarding specific incidents aside, the whole “immigration issue” (legal or illegal) is about big business and its desire for cheap labor vs. the populist notions being articulated on boards such as this one.     The teen, who is from the Bronx, has been charged with manslaughter and is due back in Family Court Wednesday.

    The suspect showed no remorse after his arrests, a detective testified in Family Court, but two of his aunts said that the death was an accident caused by “child’s play” and that he is indeed sorry for what happened.

    A judge assigned the boy lawyers and decided he would be tried as a juvenile offender in Family Court.

    As the suspect was being held inside the 26th Precinct, a throng of photographers gathered outside awaiting his transfer. His mother also waited outside, telling photographers to leave him alone and that Yu’s death was not his intention. “He’s only 14! He’s only 14!” she shouted.

    He’s not a full growed criminal.

    As for our Troll who repeatedly employs a lame, affected mode of address; and who remarkably manages to cram several (4-5, by my count) insults into two sentences…if I did not have better manners, I would advise him to take his remarks and blow them out one of his bodily orifices.
