Jamiel’s Law: The revolt against L.A.’s illegal alien sanctuary policy

Law-abiding citizens of all colors are uniting against the targeting of innocent black residents of Los Angeles by illegal alien gangs. The parents of murdered high school student Jamiel Shaw met with L.A. public officials yesterday, urging them to rescind the city’s notorious Special Order 40–one of the nation’s oldest illegal alien sanctuary laws. Enough is enough:

The parents of Jamiel Shaw Jr., a high school football star who was gunned down by a reputed gang member just blocks from his home, urged Los Angeles city leaders today to go after criminals who are in the country illegally.

Pedro Espinoza, 19, allegedly shot and killed the 17-year-old Los Angeles High School student on March 2 in the 2100 block of Fifth Avenue, not far from the Shaw family’s Arlington Heights home. According to police, the shooting occurred one day after Espinoza was released from county jail, where he was serving time for assault with a deadly weapon.

U.S. immigration officials believe Espinoza, a member of the 18th Street gang, may have been in the country illegally.

“We have a problem with the system. My son was murdered by someone that was here illegally. No matter how you look at it, that’s what happened,” Jamiel Shaw Sr. told reporters before entering the Los Angeles City Council chamber.

Authorities do not know why Espinoza was not detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement upon his release from the county jail.

Because, as I’ve reported so many times over the past several years, catch and release remains the standard operating procedure of the day.

Jamiel Shaw Sr. said checking the legal status of criminals is not an issue of racial profiling.

Exactly.

“We’re after the gang members who are here illegally, and when they’re released from jail, they’re out in the community,” he said.

“The guy who killed my son was in custody. He had a long prison record … and he was let out without any kind of hearing. He was let out into the community on a Saturday night with no supervision and within 24 hours, he had gotten another gun.”

The teen’s mother, Anita Shaw, said she plans to attend Espinoza’s arraignment hearing tomorrow. She was serving in Iraq when her son was slain, and will ship out Thursday for duty in Kuwait and Germany.

“I’m safer, somewhat, in Iraq than my son is safe on the streets of the United States. It doesn’t make sense,” she told the City Council.

Here are Jamiel’s parents confronting the council:

Walter Moore, an LA mayoral candidate, is crusading for Jamiel’s Law.

Go ahead, Geraldo. Call them racist. What are you going to do? Dare to threaten to spit on them?

Go ahead, La Raza. Call them hate-mongers. What are you going to do? Try and stop them from getting their message across?

Hey, Barack Obama. Where’s the honest dialogue about the racial crimes the Left doesn’t want to talk about? Will you march with the Shaw family–or with the illegal aliens again?

Innocent families of all races are sick and tired of the bloody consequences of open borders.

Enough is enough.

Outrage regarding specific incidents aside, the whole “immigration issue” (legal or illegal) is about big business and its desire for cheap labor vs. the populist notions being articulated on boards such as this one. This is not a liberal vs. conservative issue, and until we get our arms around where the power really lies on this issue, all the talk about fences and enforcement, etc. will continue to be just that…talk. One thing that absolutely has to happen immediately is for all illegal or legal aliens with criminal records to be rounded up and sent home…all of them.

Here you have a black family whose future was destroyed by an illegal. Here you have an American city totally run by pandering Democrats.

I find it amazing that black people vote 9 to 1 for Democrats in election after election. It is insanity to vote this way and expect a different result. Watch for this to be buried as soon as possible under a blizzard of emotional garbage.

Wow, you created a straw man out of that!

Wondering why Trolls have not posted at certain threads is trolling?

A definition of trolling, from Dictionary.com, that does NOT pertain to fishing:
“(Slang) To patrol (an area) in search for someone or something.”

Gotta say, getting TO actively looking (patrolling in search of) for something(someone?), FROM noticing the absence of a remark by that something(someone?) (sort of like noticing that the dog that did NOT bark in the night, in the Sherlock Holmes story) is quite a magic trick… truly something from nothing.

    Talk about pretzle logic.

Waiting for frustrated, sputtering, less-than-complimentary, less-than-logical, even more unrelated response in 10,…9,…8,…7….

But, I have far more important things that to take up my time right now.

Perhaps we’ll see you at another thread, where you’ll provide a much appreciated yuck or three.

Could you elaborate on this thought? Because I’m used to addressing problems in terms of root causes and symptoms, your terminology is foreign (no pun intended) to me.

A political alliance of black and white against the illegals would be formidable and just might get the job done. Unfortunately, it is not going to happen. The quick answer is that urban black people hate white people to such a degree they will never work with them. The longer answer is that neither black political leadership nor white political leadership is interested in supporting secure borders. Both are committed to the belief that large numbers of Hispanics will break the current political impasse and allow one party or the other to attain majority status for all time. Since the democrats are masters at tactics their victory is not in doubt.

That large number of innocent blacks will suffer because of the policies of the political elites bothers the democrats not at all. That large number of whites will suffer is a yawner to both sides. I wish it weren’t true, but pigs will be flying over the southern “border” before there is enforcement and deportation on a significant scale.

Saw Anita Shaw on the O’Reilly Factor a short while ago. A good woman, a good mother, and yet another victin of open border policy. It was said during the report that she is in the service and returning to Iraq tomorrow. I may be wrong, but I think that given the circumstances she would have little problem getting out of her redeployment or out of the service altogether. It speaks volumes about her character.

Beenthere … That is why we need a return to the Federalist system where people are not judged by color but by ability. Unfortunately, the sad truth is that the liberals/progressives/socialists have created a fully dependent subculture rather than integrating people into a standard culture of the people, by the people and for the people. No matter what color, creed, race or religion people may be, once they have become accustomed to the government entitlement teat, it will become very difficult for them to be weaned.

Traditionally, conservative values have done more to integrate people into a common society. This allows all of us to work together for a common goal and not divide and separate ourselves as peoples for the sole benefit of politicians and a select few others in a position to take advantage of such circumstances. What we are seeing is a very effective and very deadly game of divide and conquer being played out and We the People are the ones being divided and conquered.

Unfortunately, I do not see a great formation of “Americans” of any ilk coming together to make this happen. Whether it will or not depends on far too many factors to be able to make an accurate prediction. Whether it can or cannot be done without resorting to the tactics outlined in the Declaration of Independence is also questionable.

Equally unfortunate is that like many other races/religions/creeds etc … the politicians have also become a subculture completely separate and without regard to We the People. Unless we can discover common ground to unite us as a nation again, I fear that the Great American Experiment has already written its final chapters.

“FAREWELL! A LONG FAREWELL TO ALL MY GREATNESS.”

More on topic, my prayers will be with the family of this man for whatever that is worth.

The Mexican mayor and his gabacho stooge Chief Bratton could care less about the blacks or whites. They care about the Mexicans, and Bratton has already told us to leave if we don’t like it.

It’s a race war, just the way they like it. Most of the blacks have already left. The whites are leaving now, and 65% of the babies born in California hospitals are Mexican.

Take a close look and this murder, like many others, comes straignt fromt he White House. Time and again, White House has supported illegals, often at the cost of American citizens, who entrusted their welfare in this corrupt and timid sell-out. Americans made this spoilt, AWOL brat the custodian of their secuity. Taking a cue, states issues driver licenses without any checks and cities turned into ’sanctuary cities’ for criminals. Any surprise that innocent blood flows in the streets of these sanctuary cities? And what action does White House take? Imprison border-patrol agents Ramos & Campeon. What side of America is white White House on? Then again, Americans have only themselves to blame for putting a corrupt, timid spoilt rich brat in White House.

Bhishma, I might come as a surprise to you, but the White House is not the seat of government and Bush is not our dictator. A whole lot of blame can be placed on Congress and SCOTUS too. Let’s say that Bush decided to really clamp down on illegals. How far do you think it will go, with the Congress and local city/state governments today? Pelosi and Reid, et al, will slam the door on it real fast. Shouts of racism and “hate-mongering” will ring through the halls, while bills fly through voting to stop him. There would be open defiance in sanctuary cities. Somehow, people think that whatever the WH says, goes…not in this government. We have a system of checks and balances, and there would be a whole lot of “checks” coming out as laws. Oh, Bush could give a nice speech, but that will be how far it gets. The House will make sure no money is allocated, backed up by the Senate. Let’s be realistic here.

Minghui Yu, 24, was killed last Friday night when a 14-year-old boy, apparently on a whim, attacked Yu as he was heading to his Morningside Heights apartment, police sources said.

Yu fought back, then ran off — only to be hit by a Jeep. He died later that night.

The teen, who is from the Bronx, has been charged with manslaughter and is due back in Family Court Wednesday.

The suspect showed no remorse after his arrests, a detective testified in Family Court, but two of his aunts said that the death was an accident caused by “child’s play” and that he is indeed sorry for what happened.

A judge assigned the boy lawyers and decided he would be tried as a juvenile offender in Family Court.

As the suspect was being held inside the 26th Precinct, a throng of photographers gathered outside awaiting his transfer. His mother also waited outside, telling photographers to leave him alone and that Yu’s death was not his intention. “He’s only 14! He’s only 14!” she shouted.

He’s not a full growed criminal.
