I think this is part of the problem today. Citizenship means nothing.

I think since we began allowing dual citizenship, the concept of remaining loyal, of committing to your country really has been put aside in favor of globalism and "world citizenship" which is to say, none at all. It's just an ID matter now. For many people "I'm an American" means "I live in America" the same way I might say I live in a particular city.

Calling her a "dumb-f**k" doesn't do anything more than give her something to take back to her cult of echobloggers and say "See, Madison is a wretched hive of scum and liberalism."

A. We didn't need proof, we already knew about the hive of wretched liberalism.

B. We also know liberals can't help it, if they responded logically, they'd be Conservatives.

hosted by the College Republicans had devolved into meandering poorly-defended assertions lobbed at Ms. Malkin, who batted them back with her characteristic swaggering vitriol.

Rather, it was because when it came to her assessment of UW pharmacy student Tope Awe, she actually made sense.

Ahem,see what I mean.

Yeah, lgm, you're the martyr of liberalism. You reveal a lot more in this comment than you'd like to. My questons to you are:

1. Who are the "masses"?
2. Who are you refering to as "you"?
3. Have you heard of the following phrase made famous by MichellE:

BOO FREAKIN' HOOOOOOOOO!!!

A coupled of things in Russell's piece jumped out at me:

Obviously, Malkin says what she needs to say in order to keep her job with FOX, to secure speaking engagements, and to move books.

- It's not like, you know, she might actually believe in what she's saying. Progressivism 095: any expression an opinion "diverse" from Russell's must be an exercise in cynicism or hate-speech, there is no other plausible explanation.

Calling her a "dumb-****" doesn't do anything more than give her something to take back to her cult of echobloggers ... The end result: conservative bloggers take her words and rewrite them to a point where they feel like they have created an original thought and spew it all over blogs and comment pages across the Internet.

Classic projection. Progressivism 101, a.k.a. the "Ann Coulter Rule:" If you want to know what a "progressive" is doing or thinking, listen to what they accuse conservatives of doing and thinking.

Russell is taking quite a beating in her comment section, though, which is a good sign.

Giving too way much credit. I’d say a basketweaving major.
I understand Jesse is post-grad so upper division study is 'underwater basket weaving'. Unfortunately an excesssive amount of breathholding leads to deterioration of brain cells from lack of oxygen. Students admitted to UW Madison usually have a deficit of gray matter to start with so you can see what this field of study leads to. You only have to read this screed to see the effects. All enuendo, no facts.

I read this "apology" only it really didn't sound very "apologetic." Perhaps, the writer meant it as a back-handed compliment?

This guy's blog "apology" was just as vitriolic as he accuses Michelle of being. How intellectually dishonest.

This is why I don't send money to my Bachelor's and Master's degree alma maters. If I thought that there was an equal exchange of ideas on either campus, I would change my mind. Furthermore, my Bachelor's alma mater is frightfully expensive (private liberal arts college) that has decided to raise the tuition whenever they need a new building addition.

Michelle, keep up the good work!

Please support growth of conservative thought on the campuses - they are the future leaders, like it or not.
