Feds to start deporting criminals first!
{Guest post by See-Dubya}
Are the Feds catching a clue?
The recently announced ICE effort, known as “Secure Communities,” will upgrade computer technology in jails and allow local jailers to access ICE’s fingerprint database to quickly identify prisoners with immigration violations as they are booked. The $200 million in funding already allocated for the program this year would also add an unspecified number of ICE detention and removal officers, Counts confirmed.
The program would also:
• Prioritize removal of criminal immigrants based on their danger to the community.
• Expand an early parole program for non-violent immigrants who agree to deportation.
Sounds good to me. There’s some discussion of the cost of the initiative (a billion) and also a secure-borders guy claiming that hardened criminals should serve out their sentences before they’re deported. There’s a point there, because without a secure border, they can come right back over and will have effectively enjoyed a “criminal illegal alien early-release program”. I hope the “prioritizing” of these deportations focuses on, for example, murderers who are arrested for a misdemeanor and would be back on the street in a matter of days if they’re not deported immediately. As for convicted felons already serving time in prison, well, the damage is done. Make a note, let them serve out most of their sentence and then have a plane waiting to take them home the day of their release.
Unless the state decides differently. States may be tired of paying for the incarceration of illegal immigrant criminals and want to send them on home. If states want to do that, it’s their business.
I look at the cost issue this way: illegal alien criminals are in state jails because the Federal government failed in its obligation to secure and defend the border. Especially these repeat offenders who should have been thrown out and kept out. The burden should be on the Feds to pay the bill if someone gets back through and commits a crime, and the state has to arrest them.
(Hat tip to DRJ for that one.)

Government efficiency…..oxymoron
Don’t bet on it!
Sounds like a loophole to be exploited by the open borders crowd.
I’m cynical about promises of “enforcement”, but it would be great if we actually move in that direction.
Be sure to take away their hacksaws too.

Wow, and it only took them about a couple of generations to figure out!
The initiative sounds simple enough I’m sure the Feds will find some way to screw it up and add more “pork” to it until the original goal gets lost in all the confusion.
Here’s another idea: if the technology is there how about we put some kind of identity chip into these criminal aliens and have a scanning system in place so that we know who they are at all times. Maybe then these illegal invaders would get the message that, no matter how desperate you are for a better life, please enter the US legally. If you do not… you’ll wish you had.
*in my best condescending Cartman tone*
There you go…
“Show me the
moneyresults”$200 million? That’ll get them what - 200 computers?
Care to start a pool on how long it takes the ACLU to challenge this in court. I am in for May 1, 2008.
Does this mean the families of the criminals will be deported also? Probably not if there is a kid born here. They are American citizens, our government says so.
L
S/B Does this mean the families, if illegal, of the criminals will be deported also?
L
This is perfect. I know it makes me a bleeding heart, but children who were brought over the border and don’t have any family in their home country are in an especially troublesome predicament. Those aren’t the people I want to seen deported.
However this is a great way to eliminate threats to the community without wasting too much of the taxpayer dime. My issues with illegal immigration stem from criminal (outside of their illegal crossing) illegal aliens being hard to pin down because of their status. They need to go. They deserve top priority for a one way ticket.
They should contract with North Korea to house all our illegal immigrant inmates. I’m sure most states can get a bargain basement deal. We can send Jimmy Carter to hammer out the deals of the contract.
$200MM. Let’s see, how fast can Julie Myers blow that? That’s her T & E party budget for one year. Come on!
Boo-freaking-hoo!!!! What do you think Mexico does with it’s illegal immigrants in similar circumstances? THEY deport them ASAP!
My dogs each have one under th eskin, so that any vet (or law enforcement agency) can see where they belong. And if they get lost, we can just do a sat search adn there ya go.
If we can do it with a legal yellow lab, we can do it with an illegal person.
Yes! Yes! emjem, I see where you’re going with this. A chip with a micro-explosive device that can be detonated on command. “Si effe. I almost got security clearance just before they caught me.” BLADAAAAAMMMMM!!!!!!!
Here’s another thought. . .how about we release the border patrol agents that we sent to prison for doing their jobs? Two more agents on patrol and two beds opened up for real criminals awaiting deportation.
About damned time!

Will Sutton agree with this, doubt it. These two agents and their families have gone through he33 with this mess. My mind can not understand why this is happening. It is hard to understand why any person would want to be a patrol agent with the way their government is treating these two.

I swear I held a conversation just like this last night with BHO….it was a dream. lol Really….I had a dream about discussing illegal immigration with him. OMG!! I was trying to convince him that taking away all the things that draw them to the US would work. He just gave me a smug smile like he was soooo much more intelligent than I am. What was I thinking about when I went to sleep?!?!?!?!?!?!
#20, dip your oreo’s in milk not nyquil before you go to bed.
The Pres. has been deeply involved all the way with the immigration equations of his tenure.
Is this a leave’em smiling? Or a leave’em laughing?
Or is this an economics formula?
Maybe its to make up for the smashmouth politics Bush gave McCain in 2K.
Its not because you and I want it, if that were the case, it would have happened long ago.
Implanting the chips would be great. Especially for the gang members.

This is exactly what they are betting on….What kind of person uses their child in defence of their criminal choices.
I say buh-and bye. Then let their kids back in legally…make them stay behind.
Sounds good!, until the ‘touchy-feely gonna lose my family’ types start yapping. You are still splitting the family up even though one of you has been behind bars for a period of time. Yes, loopholes or Dems will get in the way of this…ACLU, LARAZA and all the other ‘dependents’ of America.
ROTFLMAO!!!
Unless we secure the border, what’s the point of deporting these criminals, when they’re right back across the border, before the paperwork is finished? Of course, I’m for any sort of deportation. Every little effort helps, but it’s a “finger in the dam” proposition. They say we can’t deport the millions of illegals here already. We don’t have to. Just make it so inconvenient for them to be here, and they will all go home. Please, first, secure the border!
#21…I think it is because we are being bombarded here in PA with campaign commercials and such. It drives me crazy to hear what they say in these commercials when I know damned well what they REALLY mean. It’s getting to me. Also, I am frustrated because we should be shoring up a Republican voter base, but it seems like Dems are registering like crazy. Maybe it was more of a nightmare?
This program will be among the first thing President Obama cancels, as a budget cutting measure, of course. In English: this program will up and functional when then border fence is.

Might I suggest the ‘mute’ button. I do not listen to any of these three. Any of the three comes on, mute. Get 20 or 30 batteries so the mute still works. They all can spend 80 million on PA things, I don’t listen. I feel gobs better.

Please! Don’t fall for “the poor children of illegals who are deported” whine. It’s crap.
Minor citizen children of deported illegal parents can be taken back home with mom. When the kids are 18 they can come back as citizen adults. The alternative is for illegal mom to leave them here, either with relatives or in foster care.
This is not cruel. This is the result of breaking our laws and thumbing your nose at our sovereignty. Eventually, there will be enough popular support to end the anchor baby nonsense, but we’re not there yet.
I work for a big city welfare department, folks. We currently have almost ONE THOUSAND cases here of illegal parents with citizen kids. We don’t “aid” the illegal parents, but we aid the kids. But who do you think gets the welfare check? Hint: it isn’t the six year old. Multiply this by 58 counties here in California, paying special attention to LA County with NINE MILLION people and hundreds of thousands of illegals with citizen kids.
If we don’t get a handle on this now, this state, and yours down the line, will look like, smell like, and be as “liveable” as Mexico.
I will not consent.
My family has some real in-your-face experience with this. We survived the sexual molestation of our nine year old daughter by a CONVICTED sex offender who was allowed to roam freely. He lived in our neighborhood for years without our knowing he was a pedophile. Following his arrest, conviction and forced relocation out of our neighborhood in 2007, I managed to keep tabs on him via the internet. Much to our surprise, we learned just two days ago that because this was his second conviction for moral turpitude, he had to be deported! Thank God the US Gov’t grew a spine and kicked the creep out. (I’m happy to report that our daughter who is now 13 years old is happy, well adjusted and doing splendidly, thanks to God, our church, and family. She even speaks to her church youth group about how to protect themselves. She is an amazing young lady.)
It would be nice if you shared the same kind of “bleeding heart” for the American taxpayer, Rusty. I really don’t feel their plight since they get freebies like public education (which enables/excuses their illegal presence), healthcare, and welfare. Nope, I really don’t feel pride in Latino students who have a free ride in our education system yet don’t take it seriously enough to achieve success or graduate either on time or not at all.
You see, Rusty, your “poor little darlings” don’t feel they should contribute to the US, only take from it… just like their parents. I’d rather both parent(s) and offspring get a one-way ticket where they can become Mexico’s problem.
Oh, and another thing: BOO FREAKIN’ HOO!!!
This whole border business has become a sad joke. Oh, the government is doing something, which is the same as doing nothing. What a waste of money and effort.

mwah….hugs and kisses to your family.
My problem is that the children don’t really assimilate.. Legals do.. Illegals.. Don’t..
members of MS-13, for example?
I just read that California currently pays $46,104 per year per inmate—more than the nation’s per capita income.
Wanna guess how many are illegals immigrants? Yet our esteemed Democrats in charge of the legislature refuse to deal with the illegal immigration issue…or force the feds to cough up money to pay all or a portion of this enormous annual burden on California taxpayers.
Wow, what an epiphany!
I hope it continues after the election!
Who is going to pay for the Illegal invaders’ home loans?
This sounds like typical election year pandering to me. The current administration has an awful record in protecting our borders as well as the citizens of this country from criminal activities and health risk caused by our unwelcome invaders. Time will tell how the execution is handled by the incompetents of the Department of Homeland Insecurity.
Until they take down that revolving door on the border this too will be a waste of money made to make them look like they are doing their civic duty…..i’ll believe it when I see it….and I bet you’ll see these people waltz back in as soon as they are sent back…..that is the whole point of the fence and the reason why the politicians are making sure it will not be built.
It has been said before but I have to throw in my two cents worth. Unless we secure our border, all of the deportations in the world are not going to solve even one small portion of the problem.
We are rewarding seditious acts, people who break our laws and politicians who treat us like gum on their shoes. We allow people to celebrate their “rights” when legally they have none. The politicians encourage people to destroy this once great and proud nation by dividing the people and not uniting the people as Americans first.
They have come to learn that the hardworking Americans that they depend on to be productive and taxpaying members of society will continue to work and continue to pay no matter how bad they are treated. They believe that we will continue in our blind hope that things will get better until they are in complete control and will never have to relinquish their power.
Of the pols, by the pols and for the pols. The American politicians in my humble opinion, are every bit as crooked as any I have seen around the world. It is just more expensive to buy a local or federal politician here and that remains the only difference from what I have seen.
Fence? We don’t need no stinking fence!
#40 Good question!
Pander-ama!
That’s all. If the pandering gets part of the job done - wonderful!
After the election, it will be ‘let them in, as usual’ and let the citizens foot the bill.
Yahoo!
It’s about time. Send them back!
Right now our culture rewards bad/illegal behavior. Everyone is so “special” that the rules don’t apply. And then we wonder why so many kids grow up to be failures. They can’t write a sentence, respect authority, speak clear English, dress appropropriately, etc. They are angry, frustrated and disruptive and they don’t understand that by following basic rules they can get ahead.
As a country we need to start showing our kids that the rules apply. We can start by sending back the illegals.
Yahoo!
I would prefer the Running Man sloution to this problem. Put triggers along the border and along random highways for those that fly in or boat.
Jose manages to get back into Arizona and not trigger the collar driving through Casa Grande and BLAM, problem solved.
And sdillard I feel your pain here in Mexifornia (Arizona)
I think (pardon the smoke) that it isn’t all the politicians’ fault that we have the mess we’re in today. Politics reflect what the people want. If these Congressmen get up on podiums and get applause for keeping the borders open, it’s easy to give in to the temptation, especially when votes keep them in office. It’s the reason why democrats haven’t been thrown out of office recently. When they get cheers for raising taxes, ignoring the Constitution, and taking away rights, not to mention re-election, I can’t put 100% of the blame on them. It’s the American people who have failed this country. If they got nothing but “boos” and poor polls in their districts, they would switch their tune real fast. The “dumbing down” of America is working, and the consequences could be fatal for our form of government.
Oh NavyMom, how horrible!
I could not have been as dignified as you. I would have used the closest gun available.
I am glad to hear that your daughter is doing ok now. What a fine young lady she is!!!!!
Does this mean an illegal who steals something will get a lighter sentance than an American? If my car is stolen I don’t care what nationality the guy is. I want him to serve some time. Personally I think we should make a penal colony on an island in the south Pacific somewhere and dump them there. If their home country wants them back they can go and pick them up.
I love that idea just the tracking devise has to be placed in an area where they would be to afraid to cut it back out from. I think you all know where I am suggesting placing the tracking device
And if they cut it out we don’t have to worry about them impregnating anyone after that again. Or having another anchor baby.
then again the little neck collar thing they had in the movie the running man would also work
Great idea, why didn’t we right-wingers think of this? Oh wait, we did!
