A decade ago, the only party that would have a Presidential candidate describe herself as “a born again, gun toting, God fearing woman” would have been a Republican. Now in 2008, it is (clearly a joke) but Hillary herself is touting these credentials.

And she's still not convincing anybody.

Does life begin at conception? I haven’t come to a firm resolution on that question. I don’t presume to know the answer to that question.

He knows it does - it's only common sense. But he cant admit that and still call himself a democrat. He would see himself forced out of the race so fast it would make his head spin, not to mention all the funding the dems would lose from planned parenthood.

Newsweek’s Jon Meacham asks with a straight face: “Why do you think it is that a loving God allows people to suffer?

Of course she couldnt answer this. Suffering occurs because we live in a fallen world. Suffering comes to both the just and the unjust. If we allow it, God will take our suffering and make something good come from it, and draw us closer to Him. God never allowed a hurt to go unused.

I found the transcript of the event.

Dr. Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, is one name I recognize. He was there and I saw one question he asked about Southern Baptist faith-based abstinence work in Africa. Obama punted and gave a non-answer.

This was the next interchange with Obama. (I read about this on Jill Stanek's website and that's when I searched for the transcript).

MEACHAM: Sir, in an earlier occasion in...

(APPLAUSE)

... an earlier occasion in talking about your own daughters and talking about sex education and contraception, you said that you would not want your daughter "punished with a baby" if she made a mistake, that you would teach values and morals, but if something were to happen. The phrase "punished with a baby" was jarring to a number of people. Could you explain what you meant by that?

OBAMA: Well, keep in mind, on that same day, I said children are miracles, and so I think it's important not to parse my words too carefully here. What I was saying was that my daughters are 9 and 6.

(LAUGHTER)

And so if, at the age of 12 or 13, they made what I would consider to be a mistake, in having sex or unprotected sex, and ended up getting pregnant -- I think that statistically we know 12- or 13- year-olds who are having children are much more likely to be impoverished, are much more likely to have health problems, are much more likely to have trouble raising that child.

What I want to know is what kind of a dad can sit there and talk about his girls having sex at age 12 or 13? This is unconscionable to me.

My "baby" turned 8 Saturday. It was a glorious day and found us at a Little League game in the morning. How time flies! I just felt so peaceful, so happy, just being there with my family. What a great country the U.S. is. People like Obama and Clinton (and probably McCain) spout all these stupid things, trying to "relate" to average people. And you know what? I almost feel sorry for them. They will NEVER have an experience like that because they've so far removed themselves from what is "normal."

Peres should have known that once Christine Amanpour was assigned, it would be a hit piece.

Amanpour is THE worst. I ALWAYS change the channel when she is on. It is obvious that she is so full of herself. She is the most elitist of the elitists. I dislike her more than Nancy Grace, and that's saying something. Amanpour never offers anything of substance, it is always spin to her view.

he said that there are people holding applause signs so that the participants will receive “polite applause” at the appropriate times.

Can an image be any more manufactured than this Obama's image? It is really starting to get scary how contrived this person is.

Fortunately, John McCain had the good sense not to fall for the CNN set up. The CNN game plan was to give the Democrats softball questions and then to pummel McCain with questions about how Republicans can claim to have religious faith while they toss people out of hospitals and toss poor people out of their homes. Campbell Brown is a liberal Democrat as is Jon Mechem. CNN did the same stunt last year and tricked Israel's president Shimon Peres into being interviewed. Peres should have known that once Christine Amanpour was assigned, it would be a hit piece. Amanpour told Peres that the interview would be about Judaism. Instead, she peppered Peres with accusations about Israel's "violations of international law". When Peres tried to rebut her, Amanpour kept thundering "Your words, your words" at Peres. This is the same trick that CNN had prepared for McCain. Fortunately, this time CNN did not have the criminal in the dock.

8:36pm Eastern. Newsweek’s Jon Meacham asks with a straight face: “Why do you think it is that a loving God allows people to suffer? …And you have 30 seconds.”

Wright, who is on sabbatical before retiring from Trinity United, said America’s mistreatment of blacks is the result of the founding fathers, who "planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic."

European kings created New World slavery. The men fighting in the "Revolutionary War" fired a shot "heard 'round the world." In 1787 the Continental Congress passed the Northwest Ordinance Act. The Northwest Ordinance Act (Article 6) banned slavery in the new territories. The Northwest Territories became the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. This act created a bloc of free states that joined the northeastern states in 1860 to confront the powers in the southern states that wanted to continue slavery. The Missouri Compromise of 1820 and the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 were just tests of the intent of the Northwest Ordinance Act and were the sparks that caused the civil war.
Biblical "scholar" Wright is just a manipulative ingrate.
