CAIR comes to the rescue of Minneapolis tax-funded Muslim school
As I have reported over the years, there are many good reasons to be wary when CAIR and other Muslim grievance groups start banging the drum about being victimized by Islamophobia.
Now, the usual suspects seem engaged in the usual tactics to distract from the controversy over the Minneapolis tax-funded Muslim school exposed by Star-Tribune columnist extraordinaire Katherine Kersten. Just as the state has launched an investigation of the school, here comes CAIR:
The Minnesota chapter of a national Islamic civil liberties group has asked the FBI and local law enforcement officers to investigate reported threats against a Twin Cities charter school as possible hate crimes, while a Jewish organization deplored the threats.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) made the request Monday after the director of Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy in Inver Grove Heights told police that he and the school had received threatening and harassing phone messages and e-mails.
The group is concerned about the safety of the school’s students, many of whom are Muslim, said CAIR chapter coordinator Chris Schumacher. Tagging the threats as possible hate crimes also makes it clear that prejudice could have prompted them, and “we wanted to bring that to light in case that wasn’t already obvious to people,” he said.
The Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas also condemned the alleged threats in a statement released Monday.
As of Monday, the charter school had not filed a complaint with the Minneapolis FBI office, but agents will reach out to the school and get more details about the messages, said Special Agent Paul McCabe.
If the alleged threats are real, they deserve to be investigated and prosecuted.
But investigators should bring a sizable grain of salt–and check their dhimmi tendencies at the door.

Twenty dollars says CAIR sent the e-mails to the school.
CAIR is once again trying to intimidate “John Does”.
Indeed, if there really are threats, they should be investigated. But, if that school is trying to brainwash children into being jihadists, the school, and CAIR, need to be investigated.
I’m surprised it has taken this long for cair to get involved. I would have thought the next day this school got in the news. Thanks Michelle for the up-date.

Ah CAIR. I was wondering when they would rear their ugly heads in this matter. And just as I suspected they have their plan of deflection all mapped out. Produce the evidence to back up your claim. If it is factual evidence, then, whomever is involved will have to deal with the law. But that does not or should not preclude this Academy from being investigated for their possible Islamic curriculum.
In Lewiston Maine, the local Somali refugee population has grown to the point where junior high kids arent to have meat toppings on take out pizza for fear the meat is not halal. They also get time during the school day to pray. Just another example of how
dhimmitude is running rampant here in the Pine Tree State.
I hope a thorough investigation is conducted and that any and all transgressions are dealt with post-haste.
Like others here, I would be willing to wager that CAIR is crying wolf over these “threats”. And if that is the case, CAIR should be forced to pay for the investigation and wasted resources.
The libs turn a blind eye to the ROP because of their common bigotry towards anything Judeo-Christian.
Plus, the left are yellow bellied cowards (which is why leftists like to disarm their opponents whilst retaining a powerful, armed government), so don’t also rule out the fact that they are AFRAID of the ROP’ers as well.

If parents are concerned enough about their child’s religous education, they should have to pay for it out of their owm pocket. I have 5 children; I paid for each of them to go to a private Christian based Church operated school.

CAIR has come to the defense of many schools that weren’t linked with Islam. Doesn’t this prove that this Academy is not related to Islam in any way, shape or form?
About the only thing that MIGHT cause a reaction against growth of the ROP and sharia in the US would be the outbreak of “youthful” activities. Most likely in places like Dearbornistan or Minneapolistan.
Problem is, there HAVE been some “youthful” incidents (the “sudden jihad synrdome” incident at UNC being one) and they don’t even get the same attention as the “youth car-b-queue” attacks in our media.
Sad that there will have to be more innocent blood spilled in America before the obvious is realized, that islam is a political movement like fascism, not a religion, and that it’s not becoming active behind shills like CAIR for benign purposes…

This is a boilerplate headline that gets used in just about every major daily around the country. My local rag, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch used it a couple months ago when the local CAIR chapter claimed threats were made against a local mosque.
CAIR makes up stories like this all the time and will get a local member to go on record to make the false claim. Funny how no one is ever identified as a culprit or brought up on charges.

Luckily we have an alternative to Mr. Ellison running for his seat – http://www.barbdaviswhiteforcongress.com – an african american woman who grew up here, in crime ridden North Minneapolis, and didn’t just ‘carpetbag’ her way in like Ellison (who grew up in Michigan).

ANY communication from anyone who appears opposed to their theory of education can be considered “threatening”. When you attach such a widely defined word to the problem, the possibilities are endless.
For example, if you write in your email “can you explain the difference between your school and a private Christian school, in terms of public funding?” you have threatened them, and their funding.
This is why “dialog” doesn’t work.

#58 Granite- No you are spot on. Jack Wheeler, a deep conservative, wrote a great article on building an anti-Islamo Fascist movement in this country that has the teeth of the anti-communist movement of the 50s and 60s.
Some folks see that as government oppression of civil rights and constitutional freedoms.
But some of us see it as rooting out nesting roaches of communists, marxists, jihadists, and bolsheviks who are hell bent on bringing the country down— and who are now being financed by globalists such as George Soros and other “Money-Cons”.
Unless we revitalize that kind of movement our domestic enemies will nest, hide, and strike whenever they feel like it- using the fruits of our democracy to do so.
And what about the political education of our kids- I went to a Duh-versity committee meeting here in Berkeley at our public elementary school.
The parents sat there nodding there head as a homosexual teacher lisped on about how excited he was to be adding a “sexuality” module to the fifth grade curriculum. All this was approved by the “teachers”.
There is an opt out process for it…but it is the exception. They dont offer an opt in option. If you dont opt out, then your kid gets the “module” taught by the homosexual (”do u really want to hurt me?” training).
the schools teach complicity with liberal fascist principles is the norm. And the state by default is the teacher of values to kids, unless the parents “opt out”.
the very essence of children is politicized by this “sexualization” training at age 11. teachers are protected by unions in what they teach and how they teach— which is very often based on the values of the teachers themselves, with all their proclivities those entail.
And if u want to fight them on what they teach or what they do to your kid (like calling them a “nigger”) you have no recourse or due process- the human and civil rights of kids and families are subject to the black box procedures (confidential) of the teachers unions.
That is part of the kids’ political education too- the State and its agents are all powerful.
Oh- and the right of illegals to get their education in Spanish on the taxpayer dime? It’s as if it is guaranteed under the Constitution.
Our kids are being indoctrinated as to what is “normal”….everything we complain about on these pages is status quo in their young lives here in California.
Time to fight back.
What if we were more like them? We could declare our laws and our ways unquestionable and anyone not following them would be labeled an infidel that deserves death.
What if every time something negative was said about America, our laws, our government or our people we declared war and ran around screaming for the death to all those involved in disgracing our ways? I don’t think they would appreciate that.
Maybe we should be the country of perpetual outrage at anyone that questions us. Nope. That’s not what this country is about. But perhaps muslims should keep the possibility in mind if they want to keep abusing our laws, our kindness and pushing things.

I did not serve in the armed forces; and, I have been feeling increasingly guilty about that over the past five years or so.
I am deeply indebted to, and sincerely appreciative of, the folks who have worn, and do wear, “the uniform”.
I registered for the draft (but was never called) just as the Army went all-volunteer, and as I was applying to, and getting into med school.
I (19 at the time) followed my dad’s (WWII vet, who lost a brother in the War) advice and suggestions about registration; he advised me that, if it “looked” like I was going to be drafted, I should enlist and do the extra year, – and these are his own words, first time I heard the term – rather than just be a dog-face, like he was.
I continued with internship & residency, and then practice, etc.
There’s a very tough job ahead if our nation/society/culture are to survive.
I fear that things are going to get very nasty, and very bloody.
I’m not going to say what I’ll do if such-and-such happens, blah, blah, blah…it would be no more than empty, risk-free B.S.
I just hope and pray that I humbly will do what is necessary if my country should call.
Again, my deepest thanks to our Armed Forces – past and present.

We are a nation founded Under God and His hand has graced this nation. However, I see His hand letting up because of the bleeding hearts of this country that are making a mockery of His grace. My uncle was part of the Bataan Death March; my father was in WWII and my brother enlisted in 1966. I had friends who lost brothers in Viet Nam and I mourned with them. This behavior by our government is dismissing the lives given for our/THEIR freedom. I apologize to the families who have lost a loved one preserving our freedom for this hideous turn of events. We are supposed to be the most powerful country in world and we now quake in our boots in our own land.

If CAIR keeps pushing to establish “special rights” to moslems, we may have another backlash. Speaking of special privileges, take Route 7, in Falls Church, Va.. Anyone drive that regularly? Lots of schools/churches. But, when the Moslem one empties…stop all traffic! Police are everywhere directing cars. One heck of a mess. You sit there and wait until everyone is across the road. I had a pretty interesting 25 years and the last 7 as a “Simple Servant” have been good too. I still get to make a difference for the kids keeping us safe at night by fighting the bad guys over there instead of here.

Get your body strong. Study. Increase your ability to survive with minimal rations for days at a time (lose weight and learn how to fast). Prepare your emergency tools, supplies and shelter. You sir are a true patriot and it makes me proud to read your comments. I have not done service to the United States but all three of my brothers, my dad and his two brothers, my cousins, and both of my grand fathers served our country. I was asked by my brother mike whom was an MP at the time I tested to go in, he requested that I pursue other avenues of education that there was allot more out there than the military. Well mike fought in the gulf war came home and died in a motorcycle accident 3 months after returning state side. Ever since I have regretted not joining and doing my duty. Now I am 37 and waiting for th next attack. When that happens I will have no choice but to act.

Mohawk thanks for sharing about the service of your family to this country. I am 3rd generation career Military and have two brothers that also choose not to serve, but they each contribute by being producers in the private sector. The Military lifestyle is not for everyone, but when the stuff hits the fan it will be everyday citizens like you that will stand-up united together as Americans and respond.
I’m concerned about the safety of the students who ARE NOT Muslims, since CAIR supports terrorism.
