No one should be shocked at elitism from the left. Ruling class liberals are elitists. They believe that we need their guidance and can barely stumble through life on our own. Working class liberals are bitter people who are unable to leave an economically depressed area for someplace where there are jobs available.

BO exudes pompous condescension. If I am a "bitter" "have not", and he is an enlightened "have", then Im not interested in what he has. I'd rather have my God, my guns, and my patriotism than whatever snake oil BO is selling. Im happy being a bible reading, garlic nosed cracker with a decent bowling score and a tight grouping at the gun range. Im not bitter, Im better. I refuse to be a victim. The only thing I'll be clinging to is a nice cold iced tea after a hard days work. Something BO knows nothing about. Keep your (victim/ham flavored) koolaid BO, I'm not thirsty.

My first post. Thanks, MM for the opportunity to join the fray.

Kudos to those who saw BHO's elitism long ago. It has just come into focus for me with Bittergate.

Is anyone else out there as surprised as I am at how both BHO and Hillary are turning out to be lousy candidates for the Democratic party? As the Democratic primary continues, I bet the bitterness leaves the church-going gun owners of flyover country and migrates to the arugula-eating stuffed shirts on the liberal coasts.

First comment (thanks MM!)

Comparing Obama’s verbal gaffe to Chappaquiddick is disrepectful to that poor woman who “drowned” without any proper investigation done on her behalf.

To be fair, the OP talked about leftists ability to ignore stuff like this, not comparing them. Re-read the actual words.

BTW, I agree! I have had a jaw-drop moment when my own sister in-law brushed off that her daughter's boyfriend was beating on the daughter with "Oh, that? That's a cultural thing." Lefties can brush off anything from Mary Jo Kopeckne's death to domestic violence if it fits their template to do so.

The point I really wanted to make though... BHO's contempt for us surprises me not at all: I have seen this from a local board in my town that reached a decision based only on "we need to keep control of these people" (I was there), to the state rep. who on Worc. County talk radio said that he was glad the state legislature could just ignore initiative petitions because they had given themselves that power back in the 1970s.

The political class despise us. We are lower than worms to them.
