Introducing Barack “Arugula” Obama; Update: CafePress says, “No, you can’t”

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 15, 2008 04:01 PM

Artfully talented reader Tennyson, inspired by See-Dubya’s posts on Obama’s arugula gaffe (see here and here) and by Michael Bates’s funny 2007 post on “typical liberal arugulance,” has cooked up a new photoshop to commemorate the old remarks making news again in light of his small-town condescension:

1arug.jpg

Like Bates asked: “What is it about Democratic presidential candidates and upscale leafy vegetables?”

***

We’ll have to add the Arugula image to our Snobwear collection–if CafePress puts our products back up. They’ve yanked our merchandise based on “content policy usage” concerns, which we have already addressed. I’ll keep you posted.

***

Update: CafePress has removed our Snob-ama products again, citing copyright infringement concerns.

Meanwhile, they have no problem with this merchandise from gay supporters of Obama:

1cafeobama007.jpg

Or any of these or other countless Obama products utilizing Obama’s likeness and logo themes:

1cafeobama005.jpg

1cafeobama009.jpg

1cafeobama1.jpg

But don’t worry, typical bitter people! We’ll find a new place to sell SNOBwear. I’ll update with a link soon.

Update: Here’s the new shop at Printfection.

Here’s Tennyson’s new poster with the changes to the Obama logo that CafePress rejected:

For reference, here’s the logo on the original photoshop that CafePress says it objected to:

#81 “When your the near abused Barack Hussein Obama the child they are collard greens…”

I’m not sure exactly what this means (not having my Gibberish-English dictionary handy) but I’m guessing the implication is a less “fancy,” well-schooled Obama would eat collard greens instead of arugula? (Although, I’m not sure that collard greens are a Kenyan or a Kansan staple that would’ve been handed down.) Yet, as has been pointed out again and again, arugula is not a delicacy. If you haven’t tried it, do, but let’s not pretend he tsk, tsked the price of beluga caviar.
