Just do as I say peon….
I’m just shocked that anyone would accuse Teddy of being a hypocrite!
sarc/off
The K clan has mastered the dodge: from paying taxes to being held accountable for misdeeds.
You are ALL going to miss it. He said:
We pay “OUR FAIR SHARE”
Now do you get it. He also did his “FAIR TIME” when he killed someone.
Your “fair” and his “fair” are two completely different things as it should be. I do not want to find myself equal to “The Swimmer”. No thanks! Keeping my head above water.
Dang it. Can’t watch the vid here at work… It sucks to be me right now.
I could respect him if he said “My Daddy earned that money. It was taxed once then. It shouldn’t be taxed again.”
Guess what? Ain’t gonna happen.
50% on you, 0.04% on me. Suck it up.

Likewise, 30.
Arrgghh!!
You could recreate the experience by going out to the street, finding a squeegee bum and asking him what he thinks about the estate tax. The response would be equally enlightening.
Sucks to be a beautiful woman? Wow, Michelle really sucks! LOL
Let’s recall Kennedy ridiculing President Reagan when President Reagan went to Boston and had a beer in a tavern on St. Pats Day and then gave a speech saying that the estate tax was unfair because people pay taxes on their income every day of their lives and shouldn’t have to pay taxes when they are dead. It was a perfectly sensible remark.
And Kennedy went apes _ _ t!He said: “Ronald Reagan came to Boston and had a beer and then said we should get rid of the estate tax. Can you imagine what Reagan would say if he had another beer?” Kennedy thought he was hilarious, quite the comedian making fun of Reagan. But I had to wonder: In light of Chapaquidick, should Edward Kennedy ever make light of drinking and becoming inebriated? Apparently Kennedy is so callous that even after being drunk and driving off a bridge and leaving Mary Jo Kopechne alone in an an automobile upside down under the cold waters, he can make drunking jokes. He has no shame.
Wow.
Nominal income on $300 million would be around $10 million a year. The normal income taxes that would be paid on that income level would be close to $4 million. And they paid $135,000? That’s just a shade over 1% as a tax rate based on the presumed income og $10 million.
So the Kennedy’s tax rate is 1%, while the people that work for their money pay close to 40%.
Oh, and forget about setting up your own Kennedy-type trust. The IRS closed those shelter loopholes, but Congress saw fit to “grandfather” some of the older schemes, er, shelters.
Wow. From the cowards at CBC to the stout heart of Jason Mattera, Young America Foundation and Hot Air. Well done, very well done.
Another democrap elitist’s feet held to the fire.
30, granite - trust me - the anticipation will be worth it and well-rewarded as Teddy speaks of fair shares. This just sets the stage for more enjoyment later on. Sort of a delayed gratification scenario.
Wow, I’m so glad to see Jason Mattera going around exposing the liberal hypocrisy and Teddy Kennedy is about the biggest hypocrite of them all.
I still find it disgusting that man is allowed to be a US Senator and have all this clout after murdering that woman. How does he live with himself?.
Jason Materra almost had Teddy praying. Teddy’s head was bowed and I am pretty sure he was thinking “Lord, get the damn elevator down here now.” I love that smile on Jason’s face at the end of the exchange.
Hell, he even named his dog Splash.
True story.
I wonder if drunk Teddy has seen fit to share his tax tips with Obambi..
.04% nice. I think I paid about 15-20% on my adjusted gross. Cheap ——-!

Gotcha.
I remember reading/viewing about Chappaquiddick as it was unfolding.
I was only 15, but even back then, I thought Kennedy’s entire explanation was bizarre, phony, and CYA BS.
Yet, he got away with it.
And Mary Jo Kopechne was forgotten by most of the U.S.
And in today’s lesson, we learn that “Fair” is nothing but a four letter word that begins with “F” and that is what we want to
be withdo to all of America.Gotta love the Dems working for the working man. My adjusted totals were only about 34%. I feel so fair!
Congress in its wisdom has created various loopholes that allow people to pay less estate tax. Do you think Kennedy should pay more tax than is required?
At least he’s not one of those rich Republicans (Bush, Forbes, …) who spend the majority of their political capital pushing for tax cuts that benefit themselves enormously.
And did the environmentally friendly Mr. (No Wind Power in my bay) Kennedy’s oil company pay it’s fair share as well?
Who woke the troll?
It would do well to:
I G N O R E
H I M
LOL. he didn’t say he paid his fair share, he grunted it. are you sure he wasn’t drunk?
It’s refreshing to see a conservative take the liberal journalist mantra of “comfort the afflicted - afflict the comfortable” - and actually use it against one of the lefts “leaders”! - Gary Webb speaking through Jason Mattera possibly?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I love how Kennedy’s associates get agitated during the questioning.
I love how the bald guy pushes the elevator button, again. Has anybody ever rode an elevator that sped up when some goof three floors down was honking on the button?
I love how the Black woman, at first, listens attentively. Then chucks around the corner looking for the, “don’t taze me bro,” squad. Only to return resigned.
Any man who would willingly associate and even conspire with enemies of the United States would have no problem abusing the American tax system allowing us to take up his slack, not to mention using a wrongful tax to do it.
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=/Nation/archive/200610/NAT20061020b.html
Starve the troll, please.
Cool. I love it when liberal hypocracy is exposed.
in the 2004 elections,
of the four candidates, (Cheney, Kerrey, Silky, and Bush) Bush was the one with the LEAST net wealth..
besides.. what’s wrong with tax cuts for the rich.. last I checked.. most of the people I worked for.. (EMPLOYERS) where better off than I and had more at stake in the business (meaning MONEY, $$$) and could have USED the tax breaks..
moron..
this would only make sense to a liberal.
and only to a liberal, the hypocrisy of pushing for tax hikes when doing everything short of fraud to minimize their tax burden is a virtue.

Exactly!
haha Stupid me . I thought Any one with Big money got in politics to protect their bucks . And to hell with the Citizen. Ain’t old Wall St a trip , take the money and run
Fair to Mr.”Didn’t go to lifeguard school”is like “depends on what the definition of is,is. They don’t pay as much as “required”. I may be wrong but I think the K clan gets a cut on all the Scotch imported into the US.That’s why Teddy baby is a professional boozer.
To be fair, Teddy likely has no clue as to his income, holdings or tax set up. Jack famously never carried cash relying on aides to pick the bills. Papa Joe was the brains that set up the empire. Among other things, the Palm Beach estate where Ted in his skivies went looking for the 11pm party was titled to a non-profit Kennedy trust and tax free. Figure anyone pays taxes on Hyanisport?
I’m shocked I tell ya. What have we learned in this thread? Rich guys manage to find ways to reduce their tax liability and would really love to pay even less in taxes. Wow, that’s one I hadn’t heard before. We’ve also learned that politicians tend to be more or less hypocritical. That one really floored me. A fresh thread this is not.
BTW, it’s always sort of funny to me when one of these ambush style “journalists” jump buffoons such as Kennedy, but Mattera comes off as kind of an amateurish and lightweight tool if you ask me. I’d rather see Ali G interview Ted.
C’mon soap. You practically beg the “trolls” to show up in just about every thread in which you post. You know you really don’t want to JUST IGNORE THEM.
Which is reason #1 to IGNORE THE TROLL.
To the newbies. lgm is our #1 trool. If you are unfamiliar with what a troll is/does, he will come in and more times than not, thread jack and take the thread off topic. The troll will usually not comment on the thread and will redirect the topic to some other person(s) he hates. All too often it is his/her President and all too often they will take a swipe at our hostess.
Just so you will know.
It is best to just
I G N O R E
H I M
unless you feel feisty and want to slap them down. That is okay but, never try and reason with one.
Y’all gotta ‘member, HE’S A KENNEDY! The rules only apply to the rest of us poor, crawling worms, not to them.
He’s allowed to kill his girlfriend, but you can’t. He’s allowed to drive drunk, you can’t. He’s allowed to hide his money to avoid taxes, you can’t!
Don’t cha get it?
How do you make a “Chappaquiddick cocktail”?
Scotch and muddy water…
Jason Mattera kicks a$$!!!!! Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment.
Don’t forget about the windmills off the coast of Massachusetts that The Swimmer is blocking so he can keep sailing his yacht (and dumping fuel) into the pristine waters.
Unbelievable. Almost.
On the subject of taxes, some interesting proposals by McCain published at CNN this morning.. seems pretty reasonable to me, particularly the freeze on govt ‘discretionary’ spending.. if only he’d change his stance on immigration
..your thoughts?
When will this idiots liver finally fail him?
Estate taxes are only for those not rich enough to hire slick tax lawyers like teddy and littlegirlymen.
Wow, Teddy there, he’s not hypocritical much, is he?
I must say, it’s okay for him to tax other people’s wealth and assets but he gets away with funneling all his money into places where they can’t be touched. Why hasn’t the IRS gone after this joker?
It’s so nice to know that MA continues to elect this fine, upstanding, honest, liberal politician. MA citizens don’t mind giving up their wealth and income just so Teddy can keep his, right?
/sarc off
Just like Exodus.
We’re just wandering around in the desert for 40 years, waiting for all the stubborn old people to die off before entering the Promised Land.
That was just sweet….thanks to Jason Mattera for keeping their feet to the fire…I loved his smile at the camera at the end…nice!
I find it striking how you think you are the determinant, dakine, in what is a fresh thread. If you’re so “bored,” then why are you here? Oh, yes to point out how pointless it is to hold Teddy’s feet to the fire, since he’s a powerful, liberal politician voted into a lifetime appointment by liberals who look the other way themselves as to Teddy’s financial and personal choices.
It really sucks to be you, dakine. Hey, did you offer up anything elightening to this thread or others? I’ll keep looking. I’m sure there’s something.
Oh, and save your breath… your “typical, predictable blogger” response will start in 3…2…1…
It gets better:
When Teddy’s mother, Rose Kennedy, died, her estate was probated in much more inheritance-friendly Florida, where she had a home, and not in Massachusetts. Petty concerns about such trivialities as the law that requires estates be probated where the person had their legal home were just shrugged aside. Never mind that one has to actually LIVE in a state to be a resident; even though Rose hadn’t left Massachusetts in about twelve years, her family insisted that in her heart, she just KNEW she was a Floridian and wanted her estate settled that way (She was the oldest resident of Barnstable, Massachusetts, where she was residing at the time of her death).
When his sister-in-law, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, died, her children fought like hell in court to get their legacy declared as “income” (taxed at 40%) and not “inheritance” (taxed at 55%).
Hell, old Joe Kennedy got all his money the old fashioned way: running hootch from Canada during Prohibition.
That is why I refer to them as the Kennedy Crime Family.
Taxes, laws etc. are only for us, the little people.
Rich is the key word. These people already have their money in the bank. To tax their investment returns/capitol will only cause them to invest less, and then guess what happens to employment. In a capitalist system, what happens to the top one percent affects us all.
Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.
Am I first?? Please??
I propose Jason Mattera stop catching these guys at the elevator and follow them to happy hour at some of the Senator’s favorite haunts. These questions answered after Teddy threw down a few shots would be far more entertaining (and enlightening).
The Boston Globe is so in the tank for Ted Kennedy that a few years ago the Globe wrote an article that actually said: “Mary Jo Kopechne would be 65 if she were alive today. She would have been helped greatly by legislation that Ted Kennedy enacted”.
Once again, Baron Harkonnen is heard from. The voters in his state get exactly what they deserve with this shabby, disreputable, slovenly family. Does he not enjoy speaking with Jason Mattera? What ’til he has to stand in front of the open books & answer to G-d Almighty.
Ok, when the Democrats tax the rich, will they only be taxing rich Republicans???
wighttrasch, rest assured he, like Nebuchadnezzar has seen the handwriting on the wall: “mene, mene, tekel, upharsin” - now it’s just a matter of time
Teddy, IMHO, is still the Chappaqui-DICK…he will never answer for anything, but always be first to point a finger at “ASSumed” missed-conduct. Camelot, indeed!
lgm may have transcended troll status and achieved seagull* status.
*Swoop in. Crap all over everything. Swoop away.
Does anything like this ever get on the HuffPost?
This Jason guy has a great future!
*chuckling away here*
Man I love that kid! Way to go Jason!
Perfect analogy, TT! I’ll cuckle all day on that one! Thanks!!!
Could we please amend the tax form? Instead of the boxes to check if you want money to go to the campaigns of rich people running for President, could we please have a $3 to build the fence check-box? If Ted could get that done, I’d vote for him! (I live in Hawaii, but I’m sure there’s a way to vote for him.)
Estate/inheritance tax (a.k.a. death tax) is the ultimate insult: how many times can the same dollar can be taxed? Good for Jason! Shame on the one who doesn’t have any.
There is something very askew about Obama’s two expressed views that 1.) Americans are bitter over loss of jobs to outsourcing in the last 25 years and 2.) Our Borders must be open to all, illegal or otherwise, who come in search of a better life for themselves and their families Aren’t these two ideas somehow oppositional? Rationally and logically, do they make sense? Coming from the smartest man in our lifetime, they may just be above our ability to understand.
Go Jason! Hey, are you interested in a vp job? I know of an opening…
Despite the common view that Teddy does not feel shame, I couldn’t help but notice the downward look.
Paid his fair share? He still owes us 15 years to life.
TexasTiger, you just made my day. I intend to steal that phrase for a troll as soon as possible- it is brilliant!
Que?
A better question might be Why have you not tried to reduce the death tax since you seem to take extreme steps to avoid it? Its good for me but not for thee?
Rhetorical question.
Well, he did say they pay their fair share, didn’t he?
So why’s everybody’s skivvies all twisted?
He’s an elected public official.
He wouldn’t lie………….would he?
Gosh.
A good example of what’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander.
The liberal left always dreams up ways to increase taxes to give them more money to spend but also finds ways to avoid paying them. They’re STINKERS.
Bovine flatulence and Ted Kennedy go hand in hand.
Dude’s got a huge melon.
Uncle Teddy vents more ethanol than a leaky brewery -he has been banned from visiting the National Cemetery gravesite of brother John due to the open flame and risk of explosion! He is obviously demented from chronic alcoholism.
Ted has been treated the USA like Mary Jo for more than 25 years - totally screwing and screwing up. The only thing Ted can truthfully say in his own defense is that he has treated us all like he has his own family. YUCK. The day he passes away (from cirrhosis) will be celebrated in this household as a great day for the country.
ROFLMAO
Ooooh! That was a good one, Tiger!
He is doing his part!
Mary Jo Kopechne would have turned 65 in 2005. She is not around to collect Social Security or Medicare benefits. This is saving the taxpayers thousands of dollars.
Same here, but I guess you’d have to not drink in celebration in his case huh?

Soap, we live in a world that has blogs, and those blogs have to be made interesting by “trolls” with contrary opinions. Whose gonna do it? You? You, emjem? We have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom…. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That lgm’s presence, while tragic, probably makes this blog more interesting. And that our existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, makes this blog more interesting. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want us on this blog, you need us on this blog.
If Teddy’s “Driving and Diving School” were socially responsible, it would at least have stickers placed on the dashboard that informed the passenger that “In case of a water landing, your seat cushion acts as a flotation device.”
I’d rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than driving with Teddy.
Kennedy is horrible, these Dems sure are good at lies and not answering questions.
Thank you Michelle and Jason Mattera.
The man weaseled his way out of a manslaughter conviction - does anyone really think he is above tax evasion?
#79 chapoutier,
Let me see if I get this straight. Liberals post on a conservative web site with the intent of aggravating and irritating the conservatives, and we’re supposed to be grateful?
I guess we should be thanking the Sadrists and Al Qaeda for making the drive from Baghdad to Basra more interesting also?
Posting rights on this blog? $0
Poking fun at trolls on this blog? $0
chapoutier including himself in the troll patch?
PRICELESS!
Soap, I’m pretty sure I am not the first to call me that.
Ted swam away while a young women (victim) asphyxiated in a submerged Delta 88- HIS Delta 88. He slept off the booze, then made his way back to the scene of the crime after sh!t, showering and shaving, and putting on a fresh Palm Beach blazer.
Are you lib freaks aware of this?
Seriously. It’s nearly 40 years old, and he’s still serving. (usually being served)
You are very generous to describe his postings as opinions. His postings tend to be series of non-sequiturs free from any association with specifics. I’ve been reading his work for months now and he hasn’t improved. If he were to improve, he might someday reach this level of discourse.
Chap,
Of the MANY things I like about you, I like the idea you can laugh about yourself. Your line about lgm was ROFL funny!
Peace!
Well, I really think Aaron Sorkin deserves credit for the lgm line.
Chaps, as usual, you need to grow up and get over yourself. The day I need a liberal to enlighten me is the day it snows in hell. I don’t discuss politics at all with my precious, liberal in-laws. I stand aside, let them make their asinine comments, and let them make idiots of themselves.
Yes, when I see how liberals conduct themselves, what they choose to tolerate, and what they tell the rest of us what we have to put up with is the perfect illustration of liberal ignorance. The kind that you demonstrate every time you type an inane phrase, Chaps.
DO NOT EVER accuse me of not being a truth seeker. EVER. You neither know, nor care, about my life experience, chaps, so why should I about yours? Why? When the whole point of your blog existence is to be contrarian to the point where that is your entire point of view. It’s not even a very independent one. That I could admire. No, when you champion people like lgm, any respect I might have had for you is devalued.
No, it is YOU, who come on here with the chip on their shoulder. You, who expect the rest of us to stand aside while you lecture us on how “intolerant” we are of liberals?
No, when you criticize my pride in who I am, deride my traditions, is when you demonstrate your intolerance. That is when I say: BUH BYE.
Oh my god emjem. Do you not get the joke?
That is the really really famous speech by Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men.
Wow.
chap, nice riff on A Few Good Men…very nicely done brah.
Chaps:
One more thing- I’m voting for McCain. How contrarian do you think that is? I regularly disagree with conservatives on this blog about him. We may differ, and we may spar but at the end of the day I agree that McCain is a troubled candidate.
It’s nice to know that you think assumptions are a great character profile. I’ll keep my mystery and you can console yourself by thinking there’s nary a disagreement I have with fellow conservatives on given issues.
You’d make a brilliant public education indoctrinator too.
Soap:
While I love ya man… I respectfully disagree with your assessement. Is that “contrarian” enough for ya?
Chaps:
Perhaps you need to put the sarcasm sign on your post.
I’ve learned from experience that you and I disagree on several issues.
BTW, there are several new posters on this blog who probably wouldn’t get it either.
Oh, and A Few Good Men was not that great a movie (as military movies go). If you’re trying to impress me, you’re using the wrong movie.
What does this have to do with Teddy (hiccup) Kennedy and his tax avoidance issues?
Jason Mattera ROCKS!! LMAO!!
I really thought everyone would get the reference, and for that I apologize. It is dangerous to assume. And FWIW, I don’t think its a military movie. Its a procedural drama set against a military background.
But OT…wait what is the topic?
Teddy? I know all about his past and it makes me very angry when the rich and powerful receive special treatment, whether it is avoiding a DD and manslaughter charge or avoiding the draft. He should have faced trial.
The estate tax? Well, my practice is probably about 20% estate tax issues (i.e., helping our clients avoid it). As a liberal I am supposed to love it. But I really can’t get too worked up about it, both from a practical and philosophical perspective. Philosophically, it is unseemly to not allow parents to pass on what they rightfully earned. And from a practical perspective, what the government receives from it is a drop in the bucket.
emjem,
Me luv’s ya too. What are you talkin ’bout?
All of the money in the Kennedy trust funds originated from the proceeds of rum and whiskey sales to Al Capone during prohibition.
The next time Jason Mattera gets a chance of asking one of the Kennedy’s about their ill gotten wealth, he should ask if they ever paid their fair share on the money Joe earned smuggling alcohol to Al Capone.
I really don’t understand how this man gets re-elected every 6 years. While he did not fact justice for his little drive off the bridge on earth, perhaps Mary Jo will be there to greet him at the gates of wherever it is he’s going to.
If the liberals want to pay more in taxes why don’t they pony up and send a big fat check to the government today? I mean, we stand to lose quite a bit when the Bush tax cuts expire with our kiddie deductions but the liberals will be happy that we have to suffer I guess. If they’re miserable they want us all to be miserable.
Chap, has it occurred to you that there are a lot of military people who think “A Few Good Men” while an interesting court case drama is basically a slap at the military? You have the buffonish Jack Nicholson making his little speech but in the end he’s what most liberals view as the heart and soul of the military-killers who have no regard for anyone-see Rockfeller-D-WV, people who can’t adjust in society unless of course you’re in the JAG or Medical Corps. But Tom Cruise was in that as well so for some people that’s all that was necessary except he was missing the flight suit.
As for Dakine-your Hawaii riffs are really annoying and I doubt anyone who hasn’t spent considerable time there or who lives there gets it. Got that bruddah?
While most politicians make me nauseous Ted truly makes me reach for the Compazine. I just dont know how some folks can live with themselves?
Should say “face justice”-sorry.
Chapaquidick Kennedy learned from a master on avoiding taxes…his bootlegger father. He has lots of lawyers who find these loopholes to dodge the taxes; ordinary people can’t afford them. If IGM wants to get rid of the tax cuts, may I suggest he help the bill in Congress now, putting a checkbox on the 1040s…allowing voluntary tax payments to the government. What many people don’t understand is that once the tax cuts are gone, everyone pays (except those who don’t pay in the first place). They say it’s “tax cuts for the rich” hoping you imagine limos and mansions. No…wrong! If you earn enough to pay taxes every April 15th…welcome to the world of the “democrat rich”! I know one thing for a fact, Old Ted was heading quickly back to his office for a double after that “interview”.
Thanks terrig. As for you, well, I just find you annoying in general.
Dakine-right back at you! Punahou snobbery really does rule doesn’t it? Aloha.
This mans hypocrisy operates at a level seldom attained by a mere mortal.
Kennedy’s answer: Taxes are for the little guy, I’m rich, you are not, I’m special you are not, I’m a crooked, ahem, I didn’t mean to say that, anyway I’m a politician and you are little people, now get back to work and stop your complaining.
The top 4 wealthiest Senators are all Dems. Teddy Kennedy is in 8th place. So much for those rich republicans.
Hey lgm, here’s the source.
As far as chap and dakine, all of our new members can now see what we grow here at the troll farm. To paraphrase Ryan Reynolds in Van Wilder, arguing with trolls is like rocking in a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere. Basically, our trolls are as smart as a block of wood. We try to reason with them, but we might as well be explaining quantum physics to a pig.
I wish I could share the same tax burden of the Kennedy family. My wife and I have worked hard all our life and were rewarded with the 25% tax rate this year. Last year we earned a nice big refund this year we paid, so more of my Air Force retirement pay goes to the IRS again. If my father was in the same business as the Kennedy family and Al Capone I guess I could be living high on the hog on tax shelters too. Fair share my shine white butt!
To be fair to Ted, he seems to have spent his life trying to destroy any evidence of bootlegging lying around…
On-my-soap-box said (#39):
MM tries to make liberals/Democrats look bad by posting something bad they’ve done (being generous here. Many of the claims are false or misleading.) Often as not, whatever bad thing the lib/Dems are supposed to have done, con/Reps do it worse. Who has more dirty Congressmen? Who does more pork barrel spending? And, in this thread, who uses the most tax loopholes.
Another MM tactic. Liberal disapproval of con/Reps is hatred. We also hate America, Christians, our mothers, and apple pie.
Being a loyal American does not mean deferring to the President. Con/Reps did not defer to Bill Clinton.
Our hostess wants lively discussion. I criticize (as above) but don’t insult her. I don’t comment on her looks or ethnicity or profession. Many posters here do those things to me.
Not too aware of current events, I see.

The socialist tax-and-spenders simply give us the finger.
We will never have the chance to approach the wealth that they enjoy - never.
I define as “rich” those who can continue in the “lifestyle to which they are accustomed” without having to work a minute a week.
How many of us at this blog can do that?
Sure they’ll raise taxes; it means absolutely nothing to them, except the purchase of more votes and political power.
Their attitude to the rest of us, regarding wealth and passing whatever we’ve earned on to our children, is “We’ve got ours…screw you!”
This should be made a big issue in the campaign, no?
How dare he question his betters like that! Doesn’t he know that Teddy is the champion of the little guy?

Oh, man!
It’s too easy, and irresistible.
For the newbies, here’s a great example of what some of the other vets have been describing to you.
The two Senators on that list are Republicans, with an “R”.
So, unless they were replaced by other Republicans at least as rich as they were, logic would suggest - nay, indicate - that even MORE of the top 10 (or 11, pace Spinal Tap) richest Senators would be socialists.
Sort of remionds one of the Mary Tyler Moore episode where Ted Baxter, while talking to his boss, Lou Grant, is ridiculing the idea of a 19-year-old cub reporter.
Lou Grant:
“I was a cub reporter at 17, Ted!”
Ted Baxter:
“Well, sure, Lou. At 17, but not 19!”
Priceless!!
…reminds…
Apologies.
Just don’t tax his liquor
What a story!
Exactly how does that make the top 4 any less rich or any less Democrat?
Please note the attempt to change the subject. If you spent as much time reading and comprehending what we write here instead of trying to refute it, change the subject, and put down others, you might actually see that we’re right.
It is about time someone ask these super rich Dems about their estate tax avoidance. He was grandfathered in when the tax was passed in congress and has avoided it. I think the government needs to take about 90% of his trust fund
CC, nice advice to lgm, but I fear it’s like water off a duck.

lgm back to show the newbies how a troll responds. You can see he has his facts up-side-down and bass ackwards - as usual.
Pork king of the last century? Murtha (D) - idiot. Who, just for a bonus is corrupt and the worst example of a Marine. Get one Marine to disagree with that.
Most “ethical” congress eveh? Run by Murtha(D), Pelosi(D) is just his puppet.
Now you have Kennedy(D) who killed someone and has excuses made for him buy (D)’s and evades paying taxes and gets excuses made for him by (D)’s
It does no good to reason with the likes of lgm. He is spent. His ideas are beyond comprehension. He is stuck in the 60’s and still thinks tie-dye with ivory beads is in.
This is why I am constantly saying:
I G N O R E
H I M
If he ever had an original thought, we would all stand and clap. The best you can hope for is some quote from some obscure web site as his “evidence” or “source”. Mostly he regurgitates the same old tired talking points from last years garbage that did not work then.
The best you can hope for is comedic relief but that is slim at best. I have tried for over a year to get a debate out of him and the best I can hope for now is to poke fun at him when he shows up (and I am not the only one).
So, you have had another crash course in what a troll is. Happy hunting.

He’s not a troll; he’s a seagull.

THE KENNEDY FORTUNE IS ACTUALLY IN A TRUST FUND ON THE ISLAND OF FIJI, FAR FROM THE GRIP OF UNITED STATES TAX LAWS.
My liberal loon, I see ugliness in you, not because of your bushy little unkempt beard, but for what is in your mind.
Your so-called critisims are typical of someone who forgot where this country came from and what it has given the world.
If someone like you had to produce to make a living, you would be on welfare. Instead you are a parasite protected by a form of government subsidized welfare….our disfunctional education system.
For your illogical views that never end, I see one sick, repulsive individual. I would feel the same if you were Halle Berry beautiful, so don’t take my criticism personally….arschloch!
Fat.
Drunk.
Stupid.
And now we can add “hypocritical” to his resume.
Not even liberals like Ted Kennedy.
They like his agenda. Or he likes theirs.
What’s to like. Killed a woman, cheated on his wife, drunk, raised losers and drug addicts, allowed his sister to be lobotomized, hides his inherited money oversea’s, and is an overall embarassment.
But he votes their way.
It’s typical of Democrats.
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life son - Dean Vernon Wormer, Faber College, occasionally a very wise man…
way to go Jason! what a great clip of a monumental pig being cornered and he can’t get out of it. filth.
That was the most awesome video I have seen a while. My hat is off to the people who pulled that off. Thank god there are younger generation folks still sticking up for what is right in this country. All is not lost for the next generation. God Bless them.
lgm: lets talk about what you SAID.
* do you think the “loopholes” should be closed, or not? Please offer some reasoning, either way. And if you answer “yes” please explain why “loopholes” for corporations are “bad”.
You SAID:
“”At least he’s not one of those rich Republicans (Bush, Forbes, …) who spend the majority of their political capital pushing for tax cuts that benefit themselves enormously.”
So: leaving aside the illogic of your claim (when have Bush or Forbes spent their political capital on having to arm-twist anyone for tax cuts? What political capital does Forbes have, given that he’s not an elected official?)…
do you think Kennedy spent any of his own “political capital” pushing for loopholes in the estate tax laws that benefitted himself enormously? If not, are you claiming he stood by and let it all happen around him, whilst a Senator since the the 1960’s.?
For those new to the this site: it’s at this point that (a) lgm’s STUPIDITY is exposed, and (b) where he stops posting in the thread, or ignores the challenges posed him..
It’s always this way, which is why we caution you in attempting to engage lgm.
He does….not…engage…in…good faith…argument. Intellectually he is a T*RD in a punchbowl.
A couple of countries in Europe decided to try the flat tax. It not only works, it brings in more revenue. The tax situation in this country is so bad, we even tax the dead. Family businesses fold because they don’t have the Kennedy lawyers and the ability to pork it. The only thing not taxed is the air we breathe, and if Congress can find a way around that, the “gas” company will take on a whole new meaning.
nice work.
our country desperately needs more.
So maybe Kennedy is not the best Senator on the Democratic side. Have a look at Obama:
That’s a 35% tax bracket.
The rich neither get rich nor stay rich by paying taxes. My guess, and this is just my guess, but I’d bet that somewhere along the line the 33M the Clintons paid in taxes will find it’s way back to them however indirectly.
When your tax bill is in excess of 30 million, more than the budget of a lot of companies, then a few hundred thousand here or there wont make any difference. But the working person has to decide what bill wont get paid, what necessity their child wont get, what doctor visit will go undone because the money they would have spent on those things is confiscated by the likes of Ted and Hillary and Obama. But rest assured, John Murtha will put our tax money to good use using it to stay in office. So remember that the next time the bill collector calls.
What’s interesting is God only asks for 10% and will wait. Caesar demands and takes over 33% and he’s not crazy about waiting for it.
Carbon credits, anyone?
