Don’t you know you’re supposed to ask the same, old, recycled softball questions in order to allow the candidates to recite the same, old, recycled answers about their health plans, their housing plans, their Iraq withdrawal plans?
Why, this just proves the MSM is in cahoots with Fox News! (Or “Fix News,” as the pastor who shall not be named likes to call it.)

At the end of the day, they’ve both been in the senate for a considerable period of time and have nothing to show for it.
lgm, I look at all the websites and I have never seen the outright hatred, bigotry and even death threats here like I routinely see on the huffington post, daily kos and others. I personaly have recieved death threats on those other sites. I usualy laugh at them because I never give my real address on the web. But still, it is liberals who are the most deranged on the web.
Didn’t watch the debate, but have been enjoying reading about it here!

Finding out about Obama’s connections and friendship with admitted home-grown terrorist, William Ayers (plus all the other negatives regarding Obama) and still claiming to have confidence in “Obama the man” definitely shows how the lunatic fringe of liberalism are hopelessly drunk with rancid Kool Aid.

Everytime they shot over to her, I jumped out of my seat and was wondering if I was watching a debate or political horror movie. Numerous Puns intended.
And Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama said that as president, they would execute promises to begin the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, even if their military commanders at the time advised them that it would be wiser to keep troops on the ground

If trolls are not fed, they will find another venue that provides nourishment. Especially those trolls who have gone from drinking the kool aid to snorting it in powdered form.
As to the topic at hand, I disagree that the issues raised were “gotcha” issues. They go the very heart of the candidates’ character and integrity. Scripted speech delivered with the aid of a teleprompter provide an opportunity for a candidate to appear to be all things to all people while masking their true character and beliefs.
Are honesty and integrity no longer important? Does a candidate’s TV persona and charisma trump their true mettle?
And the issues raised are more than soound bites of “mistakes”. The issues reflect a stunning departure between what we are being told and what the candidates actually believe. In that department, Obama is the clear leader over Hillary. He’ll immediately pull troops out of Iraq, but his advisors say he’ll leave a “quick reaction force” in place that happens to be twice the number of troops we have maintained in Korea for 50 years. He says he will obliterate NAFTA, while telling our trading partners in secret to ignore his campaign promises. He believes the right to bear arms is an individual right under the Constitution, yet he believes that government entities at all levels can impose restrictions on those rights that have no equivalent with other individual rights such as religion and speech. He states he does not accept money from corporations (which is illegal) and special interests, yet at least half of all funds he has raised have been through bundlers who just happen to be lobbying for their own interests. He denounces his pastors rhetoric and asks people to believe that in over 20 years of associating with Jeremiah Wright, he never heard a discouraging word. He claims to be a staunch ally of Israel, yet surrounds himself with advisors who are decidely anti-Israel (by the way, Hamas just came out in support of Obama).
The questions and issues raised in the debate are VERY relevant. Character and integrity DO count. If a slick presence in front of a camera is all we need, we would be better to look to Hollywood for our presidential candidates rather than government.

Yes, the questions asked were gotcha questions, but they had to be asked, since the candidates’ songs and dances were too much even for ABC News. My advice to Hillary and Hussein is, better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubts.
Democrats avoiding, not answering or becoming indignant over the asking of certain questions. It’s like the banning of tag only at the (supposed) grown up level. Hands off people!

This is my favorite excuse from Obama. He spent TWENTY years in the church and he never noticed that his preacher was a racist anti-american? Either he is blind and stupid (he is niether) or he is simply lying to cover his butt. To say he was never there for “those” sermons, yet was an on-going member of that church and had no idea how his “spritual leader” felt about these issues is simply too much to believe. You would have to be a true believe not to see through these lies.

So, by several sheer strokes of luck, Barack Obama was not in church on any of the Sundays when Jeremiah Wright spewed forth his racist anti-American diatriabes? I find it hard to believe that such speech from Wright was limited to just a handful of Sundays when Obama, as a “person of faith”, as he likes to refer to himself, was not sitting amongst the rest of the congregation.

You have to keep in mind that with the Left almost every incident occurs in the “Grey Area”. You could say, “The sky is blue and water is wet,” and the reply would be, “Not at night and not when it’s frozen.” The condition is called being so open-minded that your brains fall out.
Rooster made the logical assumption that by knowing someone as a friend, pastor, or acquaintance for 20-plus years most people would have at least a clue of where that individual stood on certain issues. Why don’t democrats admit that in a post 9-11 world they have offered up an islamist sympathizer? I am not doubting that Obama heard many a controversial statement given by Wright from the pews. But “those sermons” is a reference to the ones we have heard played over and over again, namely the “G D America” one after 9/11. Obama claims he was not there for “those sermons” and Rooster claims proof that he is lying. I’m wondering, given the tenacity of investigation of some of the right-wing bloggers, how come no one as found proof contrary to what Obama claims?
Because his statement is incredulous.
As far as trolls I have to disagree with Soap; the trolls provide an opportunity. They offer up the spoon-fed talking points and twisted logic that someone may encounter from people in everyday life. By seeing the arguments the left is making you can formulate a thoughtful response to hopefully save a rational person who has otherwise had their brain hijacked. I find and capitalize on these opportunities on a daily basis at the college I attend.
Case in point: A young guitarist tore one of those silly ‘Che’ stickers from his case after I explained to him who that murderer was. The kid had the outward appearance of a typical college-indoctrinated youth, yet was not entirely lost.

While my previous post attempted to label troll postings as opportunities, TOS was totally negating that concept by typing up a message arguing the subtleties of the English language. TOS post was not, in any shape, form, or fashion, the kind of opportunity I was referring to.
The ones debating the importance of character, however, do. When students at my school pose the question,”What does it matter what a candidate does in there personal time?,” I generally respond thus:
If a candidate cannot remain faithful to his wife, why should I expect him to remain faithful to his office?
If a candidate cannot recognize a problem within his church, how can he recognize a problem within the entire country?
If a candidate associates with and befriends anti-American people in his personal life, how can I expect him to loyally serve as the President?

Yet the marveling throngs refuse to see. The doubts of the eyes and ears are ignored.

I know this is off-topic, but can someone tell me what is going on with Brigitte Bardot in Paris. She is on trial for ‘inciting racial hatred’. The only quotes of hers mentioned seem to be from an afternoon special. Is this a real story? Are the French so screwed up that you can be fined/punished for such as this?

I am curious to see whether or not SNL will be objective with their satire. This weekend, they should show “Obama” getting pummeled with aggressive followups by moderaters(George and Charles) in Hillary cheerleader outfits, while Hillary gets away with saying all of her lies are the result of sleep deprivation, and downs shots of whiskey with beer chasers during the debate.

On the phront page of Philly.com is a link to Daily News writer Will Bunch’s rant hissy-fit about the debate.
He has a real smoking gun where George Stephanopoulos (sp?) was on Sean Hannity’s radio show yesterday and said he was “taking notes” on Obama’s association with Weather Underground member Bill Ayers.
The keyword is “divisive”. All the lefties are accusing ABC of being “divisive” and asking “divisive” questions, which is a word Obama frequently uses.
The annoying thing about this is, if they didn’t have controversial views (which probably adheres to the mainstream media’s leftist doctrine), why worry about it?
Just caught a clip on the tube – Obama is now crying to his supporters. Picking on the poor guy!
Imagine, a man with no relevant experience to speak of and no record of performance having to justify his own words! Imagine people not giving their trust blindly to such a person!
Does he not understand that he is asking the American people to trust him with the highest office in the land? And does he not also understand that in the absence of any record or experience to go by, that people will actually look at his character, credibility and integrity to assure themselves that he is not only capable of doing what he says he can do but that he will also be good to his word?
Good grief! For any real job in America you have to have a track record or at least have the background and training to demonstrate some real potential just to get hired. And there are no 4 year contracts for the vast majority of folks out there – if you don’t perform as represented or as expected, you are gone in a heartbeat.
He really is incapable to relating to “common folk”. He expects something that in return for nothing. He expects blind trust where it has not been earned. And when his expectations are imparied, he throws the adult equivalent of a tantrum. Blame the world! Blame the bullies! Blame the bitter rubes! And go crying to mamma.

It is only the Modern Day American Democratic Party that can take something like the 2008 Election, an election which admittedly the Democrats should have been able to just waltz right into the White House after 7 years of Liberal lies about the economy, of how everything that has gone wrong in the entire Galaxy since the Big Bang/God Sneezed has been all traceable to G.W. Bush, and everything else they have done to poison the minds of potential new voters that would be voting this year…
A year when the GOP could not get their act together and get a viable, Conservative candidate that could appeal to the people AND want to put up with the vile, loathesome and yes, criminal way they are treated by special interests (you know…Kossies and the like) in having their every last move scrutinized since they were weaned…
Only the DNC, thanks to their own Liberal friends and neighbors, could SCREW IT UP and basically hand the Presidency to McCain…the guy who NO ONE would have thought would be in the catbird seat at this moment.
It is just so laughable at this point. McCain does not need to do anything. These two…the Empty Suited False Messiah and the Cuckolded Carpetbagger make his campaign for him every time they open their mouths. Once the DNC is over, all McCain need do, if he has a brain at all in that skull, is to pick Rice as his running mate, eliminating the cries of racism and sexism from the Dems, and to parrot every single thing the Dems have said ABOUT THEMSELVES!!
It is beautiful It has taken an election season that I had been dreading, had not been excited about in the least and has turned it into something Barnum and Bailey, Ripley, and Walt Disney combined could not make any more entertaining to watch.
Now if you will excuse me, I have to go and get my guns away from the Bible I have laying next to last weeks kill from the hunting and fishing trip on my way to church. It is in the way of my Cope.
I do not share the opinion that Obama is a talented orator.. his constant hesitating annoys me.
Obama’s claim of not hearing the sermons is like the piano player in the whorehouse who swears he doesn’t know what goes on upstairs.
