MoveOn’s definition of “hurting the country”
Yes, it’s true. The left-wing anti-patriots at MoveOn.org, who didn’t think twice about handing jihadists potent ammunition the day before the sixth anniversary of 9/11 with their despicable attack on Gen. Petraeus, are now worried about actions that “hurt the country.”
Dangerous, perilous, damaging, harmful actions…like having a Democrat debate moderated by journalists who aren’t complete and total sycophants.
Heaven forfend!
Sound the alarm!
Issue the Important Action Alerts ASAP!
The Soros water-carriers say they will run an ad against ABC–Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulous photoshopped as Hitler and Eva Braun? Nah, too subtle–if they gather 100,000 signatures.
And, of course, MoveOn blames Karl Rove:
Moderators George Stephanopolous and Charlie Gibson spent the first 50 minutes obsessed with distractions that only political insiders care about–gaffes, polling numbers, the stale Rev. Wright story, and the old-news Bosnia story. And, channelling Karl Rove, they directed a video question to Barack Obama asking if he loves the American flag or not. Seriously.
Enough is enough. The public needs the media to stop hurting the national dialogue in this important election year. Can you sign the petition to ABC and other media outlets and pass it on to friends who are also fed up?
A compiled petition with your individual comment will be presented to ABC and other media.
What’s your over/under on ABC and other media caving in to the MoveOn/nutroots ultimatum?
***
On an even more hysterical side note, one nutroots blogger has now dubbed the ABC News debate the “‘Michelle Malkin/Steve Doocy’ driven non-policy based debate.”
The country will not be safe until the Schoolmarm/Snoozefest regime of Democrat debates is restored.
MoveOn to the rescue!

NBC and CBS should take note of the
controversyratings gold ABC News has mined for itself by following the Fox News’ model of Fair and Balanced objectivity in presenting a news/public affairs event.Perhaps if they employed this approach with their own evening news casts, they may be able to slow up the across the board hemorrhage of lost viewers to cable news outlets.
Incredible arrogance laced with stubborn stupidity.
Save a seat for me. By the way, do you have a big screen TV? I hope so. Just let me know how much carbon you want me to bring along with me.
Hear, hear!
I can’t be the only one, who watched Dan Abrams having a conniption-fit last night.
Talk about exploding heads.
It’s ironic that in the highest watched debate, Hussein Obama fell on his face. What a sight that was.
This was the first debate I actually watched all the way through. Why ask them about their positions, policies, and plan? They have both laid those things out in the past in a similar, in general, wish-washy, vague, non-committal way. Personally, I loved watching them squirm. Welcome to the big leagues Barack
Yahoo actually linked to HuffPo about this yesterday as though it were a credible news story. It’s sad when these screaming toddlers are given even the slightest legitimacy.
I heard a montage of conniption fits on the radio this morning all of the BHO bobbleheads have chimed in. Where do they hatch these people some journalistic madrassa? Its really pathetic to see allegedly grown men behaving like this their parents must be ashamed.
You have to feel sorry for the Dems, liberals, socialists, etc. Soros supported McCain /Feingold , then turns around and tells the referenced groups that the only way they can succeed is by using HIS money to circumvent McCain Feingold. MoveOn IS the only venue that Dems can use, that’s why Obama and Hillary are in his back pocket. Oh, I was being sarcastic when I mentioned feeling sorry.
…and if they get in power, debates like this would be outlawed (for the good of the people).
Best and most entertaining commentary on any story I have read in MM’s site. Wife and I never thought anyone could make us vote for Hilary if there was another choice, but Obama’s own mouth has doomed him. Can’t wait to send congrats to ABC
Without reading the thread, I must say that it’s my humble opinion that it’s time for MoveOn to move on.

Definitely, though we should still remain alert for bias, when they do right, we should give them a huge kudo’s of acknowledgement, kind of like you do for your puppy when he uses the bathroom outside instead of in the house. “Did you do good?! Yeees, you did, what a good boy!!!” /vigorous scratching behind ears.

To: All Reporters (especially George Scoopadoopalous and Charlie Ribson)
Subject: Coverage of Democrat Primary
1. Please be aware that questions related to BO’s associations with lunatic Ministers, bomb-throwing radicals, and people on trial in Chicago for political corruption etc. are irrelevant and strictly out of bounds. Instead, I recommend asking him about his plan to revive the economy by building windmills.
2. Reporters should never mention the wearing of flag pins in BO’s presence. Bringing up this subject is unfair, and may embarass the candidate. Instead, ask him about his plan to “renegotiate” NAFTA. Maybe. Sort of.
3. Under no circumstances may any mention of BO’s middle name be made. Hillary Rodham Clinton may be called “Hillary Rodham Clinton”, and John Fitzgerald Kennedy may be called “John Fitzgerald Kennedy”, but Barack H****** Obama must always be called simply “Barack Obama”. Use of the bad “H” word is prohibited! On the other hand, use of the good “H” word (”Hope”) is strongly encouraged, and it should always be capitalized.
Thank you
Am I the only one, who finds it a bit incredulous, that George Stephanopoulos had not known about the Obama/Ayers connectiion, before Sean Hannity told him?
Are we to believe, no one EVER tipped him off to this?
I mean, after all, that connection was old “news” to anyone who’s been paying attention.
fishy
No, but you’re definitely on to something revealing about leftists: They think they are “the country.”
This is how they can accuse General Petraeus of “betraying” America for turning around the situation in Iraq while they work tirelessly to lose that conflict; for being the only “true” Americans in their minds means that anyone who opposes them is de facto “un-American.”
Liberalism is a mental disorder. One of the symptoms of such a diseased mind is the stubborn refusal of the afflicted to grow up.
Check of proof: A distinguishing characteristic of babies is their inability to distinguish themselves from the cosmos around them. Just like leftists cannot comprehend of a valid opinion diverse from their own.
MoveOn = Q.E.D.
Liberals are a lot like Mocking birds.. Always copying what they hear, & always too scared of fading into oblivion to know when to shut up..
Mocking birds will also use a distinctive call to summon their own kind, to stave off any perceived attack.
With Liberals, this is done by exibiting a combination of an angry/bitter voice tone, & a barely audible lisp.
That way if they feel like their argument is threatened, they can summon the collective forces of a variety of dubious “civil, human, & political rights” organizations to join the fight. The Moveon.borg is one such organization.
Despite this, God loves those little birds too. That’s the only reason I don’t shoot them in the ass with my airsoft gun, when they wake me up or annoy me. ~Dan Lee
I have started referring to MoveOn.Org, as BowelMovement.Arg…it seems to me that everytime THAT assemblage of ne’er-do-well rich, socialist idiotlogue bloviators get together, the only effluent they can produce makes a lot of noise, stinks up the room, and adds nothing to the debate.
Very similar to CAIR in many respects, don’t you think?
right-on
Yes I do think. Good comparison. CAIR and MoveON are alive and well here in MN
I usually don’t check MoveOn.Org, so I would of missed it. Thanks to Michelle’s link, I found it, and signed the petition.
I am waiting for the gaffs claim to be tackled.
Why are they gaffs? When McCain confuses, “freedom fighters,” in Iraq that is a gaff. When Obama uses the words like typical and cling that goes to character, judgment and outlook. Which do seem to be issues with some voters. And certainly debate fodder.
The, “you don’t give the candidates enough time to promise a chicken for every pot,” routine by MO.org among others is rich. Rich while having disaster stamped on it.
Prepare for a R landslide.

So who cares what these pissant nutcases think? Tell you what. Send an e-mail for everyone they send to ABC, telling ABC that you support them telling MoveOn to kiss their asses.
Oh one more thing, there was a time when Fox was the only bad debate forum. Now with NBC (Russert) and ABC (Fric & Frac) the only moonbat debate forums left are CBS and Democracy Now. Realizing that Rhodes is currently working with soup can technology.
Let’s resurrect Danny R and couple him with Amy Goodman. That is a win-win. Moonbats will be happy and shut-up. For the rest of us EvilCons it is a debate with Dan and Amy.
Think about it:
Win-Win!
The following link is OT but shows BHO supporters in action helping the country. Nurses attempting to hold a meeting and the AT is there, yes folks this is their America. It is what they want when they want it otherwise they will come at you like motoon rioters. Hunting down and killing islamists in the ME, bad. Hunting down and beating up nurses in America, good. An interesting point to all this is that if BHO loses the election he could run for pres of a number of muslim nations and stand a good chance of winning. Do you think his believers would consider relocating if that were to occur? Don’t ask me what these clueless nurses from Ca were doing in Dearborn there’s no accounting for human stupidity. On the bright side many of these nurses probably lean left so becoming an episode of when leftists attack is hopefully a good learning experience for them, call it scared straight. Thanks TOS, you have no idea how much you are helping us, really, I’m serious, you’re the bestest.
5) He can crush a Democrat’s trachea with a single thought.

7) He can make Bill O’Reilly say “I might be wrong.”
Hey Bob1234, nice recap but to be fair, Obama will not only create jobs with windmills, but also with the manufacturing of solar panels. Make sure you include all the facts. I am going to ABC to give my blessings. I will admit my jaw hit the ground when Ayers was mentioned. Good job by ABC, keep it up. Has the McCain campaign, or the RNC hammered Obama on his pathetic policy positions on taxes, and foriegn policy? Or is that crickets I hear?
single stack,
Nice single stack, if I may add alinga to his name, it might have a better ringa.
Just one more example of what the libs really are….http://slog.thestranger.com/2008/04/oh_those_43rd_district_democrats
Sorry, its a link about how dems in washington booed at the mention of reciting the pledge of allegiance
ou got me confrused apacherat, I didn’t say that, as far as I’m concerned the whole democrat party is filled with overpaid clowns.
Yeah! How dare they ask questions that go toward the character of a presidential candidate?
/sarcasm off
That was the only part of the debate that interested me. I didn’t care anything for the canned rhetoric we heard in all of the other ones about universal healthcare, how quick they would surrender in the War on Terror, etc.
Obama’s so rattled he doesn’t want any more debates - but he’s tough enough to take on Russia, North Korea and Iran - and don’t you even hint not, because MoveOn knows what’s important…
Speaking of hurting the country, look who’s been promoted at NBC News: Mr. Richard-“I blame the war in Iraq for ruining my marriage”- Engel! Fair much NBC? On second thought, I guess this move is in keeping with NBC News’ reputation as a leftist newscast as Engel has been that news outfit’s top Iraq war basher, Surge doubter, and President Bush heckler since the conflict began.
Congrats, Mr. Engel, on the well earned “honor.”
How about starting a counter “petition” to ABC thanking them for finally asking some questions other than what brand of granola Obama eats?
Let’s really do it.
MoveOn.org
I wish they would.
Why don’t we organize a counter petition? MoveOn and liberals are not the only ones who can organize themselves into great masses of activism. Let’s start own petition to ABC stating that we, the real American people, appreciate them asking the questions they did because those are the questions we wanted answered!
Isn’t that the point of these debates? These potential Presidents work for us, a fact that so many politicians forget, and we want specific questions answered! Again, the complaints and attacks towards ABC for this debate epitomize the elitist attitude by saying, “We don’t care that you peons want us to answer these character accusations. We get to choose what is important, and we do not think that character or integrity are important.”
Let’s get 200,000 signatures!!
Me too! Well, actually, I signed up for the action updates, so I could be informed of what America’s domestic enemies are up to.
Thanks for the tip!
I suppose that if we’re not kneeling at the alter of one Obamanation, we’re suddenly un-American.
Who knew that someone who exposes or even questions the dangerous ideology which a presidential candidate (I still can’t believe it) espouses would harm America! I guess it hurts America more than embracing the sentiment that some far left ideologue expresses about not planting enough bombs.
If these guys were questioning Republican candidates, they would be heroes.

I’m not entirely surprised you don’t understand that some people consider sensationalistic tabloid journalism a bad thing for democracy. But you know, while we spent the past week parsing out one single sentence, it came to light that our president authorized war crimes, and then lied to the American people about it over and over again. In bizzaro world, this probably would have been considered a worthy topic for discussion in a presidential debate. Instead, we get questions about lapel pins.
What’s more important — symbols, or the things they stand for? I’m afraid we’re questioning the wrong peoples’ patriotism.

I’m down… maybe ABC and the rest of the MSM will respond to “market conditions”… where do I sign?
huggybear, re: “it came to light that our president authorized war crimes, and then lied to the American people about it over and over again…” Uhhh, it was Congress that authorized the use of force… not the President (note the cap P).
But isn’t “Bush lied… ” a bit dated? You really should err, move on.

huggybear, this entire post hit the nail squarely on the head. Very, very well put. The unfortunate answer to your (rhetorical) question is that many people can’t, or perhaps refuse to, separate the two. The result is a myopic focus on empty signifiers, and looking the other way while the values we claim to cherish — the things that really matter — are destroyed.
Good thing she does your research for you too. Don’t worry, Obama is afraid of another debate and won’t be doing another one, so you can stop sweating at how shakey he looks under pressure. I’m sure the North Koreans and Russians and Iranians got to see how weak he looks though. Geez, he wasn’t even waterboarded, but had that “Please Mr. Gibson, don’t dunk me again” look on his face…
Ummm…I’m sorry, did I miss something? Was there a debate? Oh! It was on ABC? Gee…it’s been a long time since I’ve watched anything on the networks…nothing but lousy sit-comms and reality shows. I’d rather watch paint dry than watch that drivel… It was Hillary & Obama debating? Well that figures…just another “reality” show…
Deep grooved, steel-belted with double-reinforced sidewalls, baby!
Moveon.org would just die if they couldn’t have a blow out at every little bump in the road.
AlohaGuy?
Nope, sorry.
I was ready to not vote for Bush last time around but the Dems trotted out Kerry forcing me back to Bush. I didn’t have the opportunity to even vote in the primary here in California as the MSM had already decided my candidate would be McCain. I thought I would wait and see who the Dems trotted out because I had no desire to vote for McCain.
Lo and behold, the Dems trot out two of the farthest left leaning candidates they could find…forcing me once again to vote for someone who I believe doesn’t remotely follow my values.
I truly wish there was a “mulligan” box to check
The only war crime that has been committed is the one that the democrats have been committing against the American people for over 50 years. Every time a democrat is in charge a section of the world is lost to fascism, communism, islamism and we are left a little less secure with a lot fewer friends. The free world can’t survive another 50 years of this how many people are you leftists going to murder before you say enough? Don’t like the rhetoric today, read some Mark Twain, no not Huckleberry Finn.
I can’t remember who it’s attributed to, but the quote is basically,”I start every morning by reading the New York Times and the Holy Bible. That way I know what each side is doing.”
Over at Kos the kiddies are ligtin’ fires and sharpening sticks. And I’m just sitting back and watching the bloodletting with a big ‘ol grin. And posting here and there to egg them on of course hehe.
“DailyKos’s chickens…..are coming home to ROOST!!”

I would like to add one if I may;
Karl Rove is so powerful he can slam a revolving door!
Look everyone! Forty-four years too late, huggybear discovers that LBJ lied about the War on Poverty. Something tells me huggybear has one of these at the end of his driveway.
Huggybear,
Exactly what are you talking about? You can’t just come out and make statements like that without providing a link or proof of some kind.

Oh, by the way, this surprise that Obama is just another lying radical socialist politician is amazing.
This information has been out in the public forum for months. For instance, I knew of his involvement with Rezco and the house deal months ago. Sean Hannity has been pushing the Ayers story for a year now, and the flaf lapel pin issue came up not too long after he announced his candidacy IIRC.
