Okay, I'm late to the party here, but let me chime in with my .02 anyway.

First, Van graduated from a university? With his marked command of the English language and its grammatical structures, I should have thought middle-school might be the highest he climbed up the educational tree. He is at least clever enough to have satirically-parodied the title of one of Michelle's books in his subject line, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here. I guess educational standards in West Virginia aren't what they used to be with all of the crystal meth-fueled, gun-toting murders running around.

Second, he's speaking for Pennsylvanians from Florida? Wow. Find a map, buddy. I'm "from Ohio" and I "graduated from a small college in Kentucky" but I sure as hell don't speak for Ohioans or Kentuckians from my desk in California now.

Third, do people in the Midwestern and Eastern states now really "cling to guns and religion" when the jobs dry up. Neither a gun, nor a Bible has ever put money in my pocket when I was unemployed. How much money can someone without a job actually spend on crystal meth, or alcohol, or bullets? It seems to me, from my comfy home office here in rural CA, that this scenario might be a little self-limiting really. Heck, even Obama himself realized later that he'd made a bone-headed statement, and attempted to clarify it.

More to the point, there is a class of people in this country who honestly FEEL that they're better than others. You can hear it in their voices. You can see it in their expressions. Senator Barak Obama has demonstrated with his words, that he isn't "one of us". My nearly-4-year-old daughter could roll a bowling ball down a lane and, by accident, achieve a higher score than a 37! Obama has money, he's highly-educated, and he's climbed to a nice comfy position. From there, high on Mount Olympus, he's more than happy to tell us all that we need "hope and change".

Well I'm not buying it. I don't need his "hope or change". I am self-reliant, self-sufficient, and self-sustaining. I don't NEED his brand of governmental interference. I don't need to donate more of my earnings in taxes to feed or clothe others who are too lazy to do it themselves. If someone is truly handicapped, and absolutely cannot work, then they should have our support. Aside from that, and the elderly, NO ONE should be on Welfare. Making babies is not a job! It is a responsibility and a joyful burden. National health care? Driver's licenses for illegal aliens (they are not "immigrants" nor are they legally-allowed to complete ANY transaction within our borders, so says the Federal Justice System)? A nation-wide hand-gun ban? These are some of Senator Obama's ideas.

When that man starts showing up for, and voting on, ALL bills presented in the Senate, THEN, and only then, will I be prepared to even BEGIN to engage in a discussion over his ideas. Until then he is only one more snobbish elitist trying desperately to grasp the next rung up the political ladder with empty promises. Michelle has him nailed down and pinpointed.

Quite an accomplishment, I'd say, for a journalist of any stripe!

Kisses from Kissimmee, Florida,

Van Richardson
Registered Informed Free Thinking Independent Voter
Does that mean he is free from thinking? I mean besides being a racist, white guilt whiny elitist jerk?

I do get upset at the White Guilt crowd that attack non-whites who dare disagree with them. Hypocrisy, thy name is Van Richardson from Kissimmee, Florida.

Considering the level of intellect displayed in his e-mail, it is quite fortunate for Van that breathing is an involuntary bodily function.

I doubt the same could be said of his voluntary sphincters.... ;-)

If "Van" is a male - he has issues with women.

If "Van-essa" is female - she's either lost her job to an asian or felt she was unable to compete on an intellectual basis.

Either way - he/she is in serious need of meds and/or therapy....scary.

God bless and watch over your son floridaobserver, we are all proud of him. My own son is heading back there this fall for his third deployment. It doesn't get any easier to say goodbye, but we're all in it together.

country.
We don't care whether you can type "worth a darn", just keep typing and let us know how you all are doing.

I didn't need to hear Obamas rude comments about small town folk to feel the arrogance oozing out of his pores...I am grateful that Michele keeps me up on what the congress and other "destroyers" are up to!
Apparently this moonbat considers Geraldo polite when he threatens to spit on people. Whats scary is clueless people like this abound....SCARY!!!

It's nice how that moonbat thinks all Asians look alike. I'm sure that wasn't a stereotype.

Plus, I'd be willing to bet that he graduated with something like Liberal Arts or the like. Some degree that requires a pulse and nothing more to get. I wonder if he enjoys his having to ask "would you like fries with that" on a daily basis?

Well, both Kissimmee AND St. Could, FL, used to be really nice little cow-towns. Cowboys ruled and everywhere were pickups with gunracks, both kinds of flags and a cross. Not so much anymore. The old cattle families have sold off the ranches, bought land in TX and AL and moved their cattle there. Now it's wall to wall developments and the charm of the towns is much diminished. There is a strong Hispanic presence. You still see the trucks, gunracks, flags and crosses, and those people are pretty self-sufficient. If there were ever a food shortage, I'd want to live next door to them. They can hunt, fish, dress a deer, grow vegetables and they sure won't starve.
Not much to do with Van's comments, but this is what is going on where he lives.
