A Blame America bonanza: Bill Moyers to “interview” Jeremiah Wright
I put “interview” in quotation marks, because this is guaranteed to be more of an echo chamber than anything else. Via PR Newswire:
Bill Moyers Journal to Air First Television Interview With Reverend Jeremiah Wright Since Controversy
NEW YORK, April 21 /PRNewswire/ — The Reverend Jeremiah Wright will be interviewed on PBS this week by Bill Moyers in his first broadcast interview with a journalist since he became embroiled in a controversy for his remarks and his relationship with Barack Obama.
Wright, who retired in early 2008 as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Senator Obama is a member, has been at the center of controversy for comments he made during sermons, which surfaced in the press in March.
The interview with Bill Moyers will air on Bill Moyers Journal on Friday, April 25 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings at www.pbs.org/moyers).

I normally don’t respond to IGM; usually read his posts and go on. But, what is with him and Dick Cheney? Cheney, as I should remind him, is the Vice-President; a basically useless job with very little political power, if any, at all. He’s the President of the Senate. That’s it, except 1st in line if something happens to the President. He doesn’t debate, or vote, unless there is a tie, or make domestic or foreign policy decisions. One VP said that the job wasn’t worth a “bucket of warm spit”. I agree. John Adams called it the most useless job in the country. So who cares about Cheney? Just the Left in their hatred of Bush. As I said, the job comes with no real political power, so what’s the problem? Usually the VP position is a stepping-stone to the Presidency. Well, last I checked Cheney wasn’t running. Big deal about Dick Cheney!!

The messed up part about Wright’s psychology and psyche is— in a life supposedly devoted to selfless service, where does he come off damning an entire country? He bites the nose that feeds him (LOL…yes i said that out loud). he bites the hand that makes it possible for him to be a living breathing 501 c 3.
I think he should have his status jerked out from under him— the speech was political….and there are laws agains that.

In the Air Force, we used to have a saying along the lines of, “you can earn all the attaboys you want, but all it takes is one ahsh!t to wipe them all out.”
The whole issue about Rev. Wright is not what he has done in the past, it’s about his character now. He may have been a marine, an eagle-scout, worked for the peace corp or spent his youth helping old ladies cross the street (I don’t know if he actually was or did the last three things). To most people who care about character, those acts don’t make up for the fact that he is currently an anti-American, racist.
I know but let’s be honest, it’s a bit of a lame 4F. The point is that he’s more than made up for his lack of service.
The obsession with Cheney (also Rove) comes from the belief that a Republican president can’t possible act out of a set of core beliefs - he’s an idiot don’t you know. So it is explained that he has a mad, diabolical genius pulling his strings - a sort of Lex Luther if you will. For Reagan it was William Casey. For Bush Sr. it was Lee Atwater. Now Bush Jr., he’s extra stupid so he needs two: Cheney and Rove.

He doesn’t need one because Leftists are so much smarter and operate with good intentions. Even when they bring ruinous harm like Jimmy Carter (sorry I’m still angry about him)to our country they did it with the best of intentions. The more interesting question is who will they assign to be McCain’s brain? He’s not a conservative but they’ll call him one anyway.
Hangfire, the man behind the curtain will be several. Wright and Ayers will be right up front, of course. Ayers for the Education Department. Wright as spiritual advisor. But, when you have a rookie President with no experience other than reading pre-written and approved speeches, you know Pelosi/Reid/Kennedy leadership will be pulling the strings too.
Right now (since I’ll be forced to vote for McCain) I’m happy that Adm. Zumwalt can’t be accused of pulling McCain’s strings since he has passed on to his reward.

One thing I remember about the Carter presidency, was earning a salary in a gas line, with a good book. The big boss would ask me to drive his car (Cad)to the Exxon station to fill it, which I glady accepted. Sure read some good books then!

I think Rev. Wright and Cheney are both lousy Americans. Cheney just got more people killed, and unlike Wright who enlisted, Cheney punked out of going to Vietnam. The only good thing I can say about Cheney is that he appears to be a loving and understanding parent.
Rev. Wright will sink Obama’s candidacy unless he take a trip overseas until like next freakin Thanksgiving or so.

Hey LGM didn’t you know that its faith and not man’s works that makes him a Christian. I have never heard Jackson, or Wright preach the gospel about being born again and repenting of sins. From what I have read and heard Jackson and Wright seems to be more of social workers then actual preachers. Jesus never lamented the Roman gov’t but only preached about saving your soul, heaven and the consequences of living without the personal knowledge of Christ. If you took a list of the fruits of the Spirit you would know that jealousy, bitterness and other poor qualities would slowly drop off on peoples lives if they were really living for the Lord. Jesus said you would know them by their fruit.
