A Blame America bonanza: Bill Moyers to “interview” Jeremiah Wright

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 21, 2008 02:25 PM

I put “interview” in quotation marks, because this is guaranteed to be more of an echo chamber than anything else. Via PR Newswire:

Bill Moyers Journal to Air First Television Interview With Reverend Jeremiah Wright Since Controversy

NEW YORK, April 21 /PRNewswire/ — The Reverend Jeremiah Wright will be interviewed on PBS this week by Bill Moyers in his first broadcast interview with a journalist since he became embroiled in a controversy for his remarks and his relationship with Barack Obama.

Wright, who retired in early 2008 as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Senator Obama is a member, has been at the center of controversy for comments he made during sermons, which surfaced in the press in March.

The interview with Bill Moyers will air on Bill Moyers Journal on Friday, April 25 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings at www.pbs.org/moyers).

Could be a good thing. The more Jeremiah Wright opens his mouth, the more exposure he [hypothetically] gets, and the more people can hear his message and wonder how Hussein Obama managed to attend his church for two decades and conveniently never, never, never, ever, never ever, ever never hear such vitriol.

Here are the questions that Reverend Wright should ask to Mr. Moyers:

Mr. Moyers, When you were arrested for drunk driving in Vermont, did you ever think for even one minute about the children walking on the sidewalks or on the side of the road who might have been killed or maimed because of your drunk driving?

Mr. Moyers: Do you think that a car is just a toy for rich guys like you to drive around drunk on the roads of Vermont?

Mr. Moyers: Do you think that Vermont’s drunk driving laws somehow don’t apply to rich media guys like you? Do you think that Vermont’s drunk driving laws only apply to small town farmers in Vermont?

Mr. Moyers: Do you think that you are above the law? Since you complain about the “lawlessness” of conservatives, do you think you too have some obligation to obey the laws?

Do you think it is fair that being so wealthy, you could hire fancy criminal defense lawyers to minmize your punishment?

Finally, one comment to Mr. Moyers from me: As someone who has lost a relative to the drunk driving of somebody just as careless and unconcerned as you were when you flew around the roads in Vermont, I don’t think that your drunk driving is very funny. I bet you and your media friends had quite a few yuks about the hayseed cop in Vermont who arrested you.

That is outrages on it’s on, but I would like the American people to see exactly what type of Religion that Obama has been entrenched in for two decades. The Liberation Theology links back to Ayers, “Communist” organizer, and all of Obama’s “Marxist” ties. Nevermind, I thought I was going to be doing the interview. I love it when friends point to Bill Moyers as an example of why we need PBS – to do balanced, unbiased reporting and analysis. I have given up trying to straighten out their twisted minds. Glad to know that taxpayers are STILL footing the bill to the tune of over $175MM/year for this dreck.

Reverend “so-called” Wright is just another race baiting, guilt peddling, hate filled charlatan looking for some kind of validation from a white man. That has got to be some kind of irony.

Does PBS have to adhere to the same language standards as all other over-the-air broadcasters? …

If the language gets rough with lots of “G.D this” and “G.D. that” and “G.D. America” being tossed out there on the air waves will the FCC fine PBS and Bill Moyers like they would everyone else? …

Just some food for thought …

The only problem would be that someone has to actually watch the show.

Jeremiah Wright is a better American than Dick Cheney. Wright served his country in uniform while Cheney had other priorities. Wright made a career of serving his community (soup kitchens, youth groups, aids clinics) while Cheney, well, you know what I think about his career.

Oh, that’s hilarious. As others have pointed out, serving our country, while noble, isn’t the sole measure of a man’s worth.

Laughing at you, lgm, is so easy, even a newbie like me can do it.

By your logic, is Timothy McVeigh a better American then Jeremiah Wright?
Timothy McVeigh served his Country in combat, “while Jeremiah Wright had other priorities.”

    Timothy McVeigh:
-McVeigh was a decorated veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Gulf War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star.
-McVeigh had been a top scoring gunner with the 25mm cannon of the light-armored Bradley Fighting Vehicles used by the U.S. 1st Infantry Division to which he was assigned.
-McVeigh completed the Primary Leadership Development Course.
-McVeigh entered the program for training to become a Green Beret.
-McVeigh was given his final honorable discharge from the Army reserve in May, 1992.

Question #1: “Reverend” Wright. How long will you be able to survive in such opressive living conditions? You know, the 10,000 sqaure foot house in the gated community that is 95% white?

Question #2: Can you tell us more about the opressiveness of your early life. You know, growing up in suburbia, attending good schools. All the things that the really poor blacks didn’t have that you did.

Question #3: How big of a buffon is Obama? Really big or off the chart?

Not true. Just the other day I defended another Christian who was treated badly on an MM thread, the Pope.

Jeremiah Wright is a proselytizer while Dick Cheney is not. Does that make Cheney a better human? I have to know the answer to this one.

Christians proselytizing other Christians — bringing them back to their faith — is fine with me. Please don’t try it on young Jewish children against their parents’ wishes.

Yes, Wright’s good works outweigh Cheney’s.

    HAHHHAAHHAAAHHAAAAA

Every time you post you make yourself look more stupid (if that were possible). Christians don’t proselytize Christians. If they are Christians, they already follow Christ and there is no need.

Please don’t try it on young Jewish children against their parents’ wishes.

Your kids daddy has to believe there is a GOD before he can be offended and pass on his offense.

Yes, Wright’s good works outweigh Cheney’s.

You may stand alone on that one. Now, you are GOD and can judge a mans works. Your hate for Cheney is all you have to compare the two. Your hate is so deep, you will choose a Christian over the VP and you hate Christians. You defended the Pope against what? Just so you could make your dufuss remarks. ROFL you crack us all up.

Wouldn’t you know it! The night I straighten my sox drawer. Oh well, life is full of little disappointments.

But Bill Moyers, Mr. Civil Rights-White Guilt, wasn’t always so. At the Adams Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona in the 1964 Presidential race he got quite a chuckle with the line “Barry Goldwater the whiteman want to be”. Just what do you think Bill Moyers, Mr. Civil Rights-White Guilt, was referring to?

According to this type of reasoning, McCain is the better American than Obama and Hillary put together. McCain served in battle, kept his honor as a POW, and went on to retire as a Captain in the Navy after a 23 year career. He has two sons currently serving in the military, one a student in Annapolis, the other in the Marines.

Barack Hussein Obama AND Hillary Clinton, never wore a military uniform a day in the life. Nor has anyone in their immediate family (except for BHO’s grandfather, but that was over 60 years ago.)

Glad to see you are a McCain supporter.
