Newsflash: Liberal blogger gets a “scoop!”– by ripping off e-mails printed on this blog
Several readers sent me this Howard Kurtz column in the WaPo today, which mentions that some bitter left-wing blogger , who refers to me as the “slime of the blogosphere,” got a hold of a series of e-mails between The New Yorker and me.
The e-mail exchange seemed vaguely familiar.
Hmmmm. Where have I seen those e-mails before? What intrepid investigative techniques did the superior left-wing blogger use to obtain those e-mails?
Thinking, thinking….
Oh, wait a minute. I’ve got it! They’re the same e-mails I published on this blog more than a month ago.
Way to go, Scoop.

What in the world is his point? He didn’t disprove the claim that the New Yorker wanted to interview Michelle… So, I am completely lost as to what “scoop” he managed to dig up.

I actually saw this post last week on Bloggasm. In all fairness, Simon Owens (said “bitter left-wing blogger”) never even implies that he surreptitiously acquired these emails; he merely presents them in a post (on why he disagrees with the very notion of the profile). Likewise, WaPo doesn’t suggest that Bloggasm’s possession of the emails is the result of stealthy, Deep Throat-style journalism either, but instead directs readers to the Bloggasm site partially (I’m guessing) to expose readers to Owens’s commentary on the situation, and likely, to avoid driving traffic to this site (where all the same information in the Bloggasm post is, and was originally, displayed). The fairness of the latter issue is debatable, but I don’t see the evidence that either writer meant to convince readers that these emails had been gained clandestinely.
Gotcha. I thought the “intrepid left-wing blogger” was the other guy.

Simon Owens doesn’t understand the basic concept of reading.
Simple way to drive up traffic. Write a nasty column about a successful conservative blogger. All the libs will come read it and congratulate you for your insight, and all the conservatives will come see the monkey fling poo. Now he has more hits (second hand) than all of his peers on the left, and he’s a hero for flinging poo at somebody who has a stand alone achievement.

I think the fact that he is “perplexed” by your “unreadable” writing is more of a self critique than anything else. Given his journalistic “skill set,” we can only assume that he does his bloviating from a TRS-80 computer in a corner of his parent’s basement between bouts of online multiplayer games, where he gets to be a “real” hero.
If, as he asserts, you really wanted the attention of the New Yorker, so that you could “run to your fellow bloggers and whine about your unfair treatment,” you would have accepted the interview. The fact that you did not simply kills his own conclusions.

Simon Owen is one angry dude. To refer to Michelle Malkin as “slime” is about as immature as you can get. I am guessing that Simon was having a sugar high from all those gummie bears that mom let Simon eat after Simon did his homework and ate his gren beans.
I love how anyone who dares to disagree with a liberal some how instantly becomes a racist right wing tool. This in itself is a bigoted view and means that if a right winger ever did make a valid point, you would miss it completely, even if it were a point that was agreeing with you. I have found that liberals are NOT ALLOWED to have a view outside of the approved views or thier fellow liberals or they will be labeled as a racist right wing tool, even if they would blow thier own brains out rather than vote for someone with an (R) after thier name. The liberal cause has become one of the most restrictive controled mind sets in history. Liberals live in constant fear of offending anyone, even if the offending comment is true. For example. I make the claim that all illegal immigrants are criminals. This is a true statement since they are all breaking the law by being in this country. Yet I would be considered racist for saying this DISPITE the fact that I did not mention race. Another example. Islam is the most violent religon in the world today. I would be considered racist because I said that. Racist against arabs I guess DISPITE the fact that i again did not mention race, Islam is easily demonstrated to be the most violent religon in the world today, and that most islamic peoples are actualy asian. So call me what you want, just don’t ever call me a close minded, sheep like, bigoted liberal. At least I think for myself.

My favorite part is where he complains he has a tough time following some of MM’s posts; like….the Updated ones.
Welllllll……let me guess, little Simon either has a tough time with the written word or he slept through english class in high school. Another whining liberal jealous of Michelle Malkin.

The trouble with these people is that they can only recite the party line. Once that isn’t accepted, the only recourse left to them is to call you names. They think they have won the argument by resorting to such juvenile gestures. That’s because the only education they know, is liberal education. They never learned any opposing ideas. If they tried to learn them, they were instantly demonized by their teachers/professors. I have no time for these people. It reminds me of my debates with my father. Both he and I loved to debate. It would drive Mom crazy (usually shown by a foot hitting my leg under the dining table). What really drove her nuts was when Dad and I would switch sides and argue the opposing views. It was always fun, informative, and bonding.
I don’t understand why Michelle would even bother posting this story. It’s made him 100x more popular than he was yesterday. Mission accomplished?
