Pa. Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll loses it: The moonbat funeral crasher returns

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 22, 2008 10:42 AM

Oh, my word. I knew this woman’s name rang a bell. Yesterday, at a Hillary Clinton campaign event, Pa.’s Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll threw a hissy fit:

Both Democratic candidates made a final push for votes on the eve of the Pennsylvania primary — but it was Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll’s comments to former President Bill Clinton that stole the spotlight in Pittsburgh. Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato was introducing Clinton to a crowd of about 6,000 people in Market Square, where they had gathered to hear a campaign speech by Clinton’s wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton. When Onorato tried to hand over the microphone, Knoll grabbed it and let loose with some talk targeted at Onorato and Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.

“They never recognize the lieutenant governor. These two men can’t stand women,” she said, before leaving the stage while talking to Onorato. After the campaign event ended, Knoll spoke briefly with WTAE Channel 4 Action News reporter Paul Van Osdol.

“You really think that Mr. Onorato and Mr. Ravenstahl don’t like women?” Van Osdol asked. “No, it’s a guy in the back who doesn’t know who Cathy Baker Knoll is,” Knoll said.

“Why did you say that about Luke and Dan?” Van Osdol asked. “Because they’re afraid of the guys who call the shots,” Knoll said. “You know what? I’m not afraid of anybody.”

The Clintons downplayed the temper tantrum as mere “exuberance:”

As President Clinton signed autographs and shook hands after his wife’s speech, Van Osdol asked him about Knoll.

“I think she’s an exuberant supporter of Hillary’s. I’m grateful to her,” Clinton said.

Sen. Clinton said much the same thing.

“I wasn’t here, but I know in the midst of rallies and hectic campaign schedules, things like this happen,” Clinton said. “It got straightened out, and everybody spoke and did an excellent job, and the lieutenant governor has been a friend and supporter for 25 years.”

Here’s the vid:

So, who is this nutball? Longtime readers will remember her as the same, self-aggrandizing Penn. official who crashed a Marine’s funeral uninvited three years ago and poisoned the somber event with her anti-war rhetoric and camera-hogging antics.

Looks like she learned nothing from that debacle.

Pennsylvania, you have our sympathies.

Of course they downplayed it. Liberals are prone to act out when they don’t get the notoriety they feel they deserve are entitled to.

Newsflash: This event was not about you, Cathy. And crashing that Marine’s funeral was despicable. Liberals lack decorum.

Have you ever noticed that the left’s “anti-war” types all have explosive tempers? How ironic. It also seems that many of them seem to age more rapidly than others who are less filled with rage. And is it also coincidental that so many hate-filled female Democrats in the spot- light get diagnosed with some form of cancer? The late “Ma” Richards, Elizabeth Edwards, that virolent columnist who passed last year, all come to mind. Weird! I wonder if there is a mind-body connection?

Knoll has quite a history with the Commonwealth of PA. In 1999, she was in the middle of an extensive investigation by the SEC and Justice Department into “yield burning”, and those close to her were indicted and fined.

    http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9A04E4D91F3DF93BA25752C1A96F958260

While she admitted to shredding documents, she claimed none were related to the subject of the investigation. Her defense was that, as State Treasurer, she was clueless as to what was going on in her own office. Apparently, the authorities believed her to be clueless as well, as they never filed any charges against her (she claimed she was found to be innocent, which was not exactly in accord with the findings of law enforcement that there was not enough there to prosecute her).
