Pennsylvania speaks: Will it be the snob or the liar?

Will it be the snob or the liar? Voting began in Pennsylvania at 7am this morning. Mark Memmott has an early round-up of the Obama and Clinton morning show appearances. KDKA reports:
Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama questioned each other’s character and readiness to be commander in chief in last-minute television ads as the six-week Pennsylvania primary campaign steamed toward an uncertain conclusion Tuesday.
The two Democratic hopefuls barnstormed the state in a final pitch for votes in the most populous and delegate-rich state remaining in the nominating contest. Some 4 million Democrats were eligible to cast ballots, with 158 delegates at stake.
Clinton was relying on a decisive win to save her flagging candidacy, while Obama hoped for an upset or a strong enough finish to secure the delegates needed to maintain his overall lead.
Late polling showed Clinton with a single-digit lead in the state, after besting Obama by 20 points or more in earlier surveys…The Illinois senator and his wife, Michelle, addressed a rally at the University Pittsburgh on Monday night. They were joined by Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of 2004 Democratic nominee John Kerry.
Heinz Kerry noted that her husband carried Pennsylvania in the general election. “I’m asking you to keep this streak going,” she said.
In Philadelphia, Clinton appeared with her husband, the former president, and their daughter, Chelsea, before a crowd at the University of Pennsylvania.
“It’s not enough to say ‘Yes we can.’ We have to say how we can,” Clinton told the crowd, putting a twist on Obama’s popular slogan of hope.
Record turnout is expected:
A record number of Pennsylvanians are registered to vote: 8,328,123.
Fired-up by the primary slugfest between Clinton and Obama, more than 152,700 voters have joined the Democratic Party since Jan. 1. In addition, more than 164,000 voters have changed their registration to become Democrat.
The GOP also surged this year, adding more than 40,000 newly-minted Republicans to their rolls.
Before voting, first-time voters must show a valid photo ID, election officials said.
Though the polls are scheduled to close at 8 p.m., any voter still in line will be permitted to cast a ballot in their party’s primary.

Karl at Protein Wisdom looks at the numbers and expectations:
Over the weekend, RCP’s Jay Cost noted that the movement in the PA polls was strikingly similar to the movement in the OH pre-primary polls. Cost avers that past is not necessarily prologue, but notes that there are reasons to expect them to move in tandem. So it is worth keeping in the back of the mind that Clinton outpolled the RCP average in OH.
The RCP average in PA is Clinton +5.9, including results ranging from Clinton +10 to Obama+3. At the Hotline, Democratic pollster Mark Blumenthal plots the divergent poll results, noting that “as the undecided percentage gets lower, Clinton’s support gets higher,” though he leaves himself a little wiggle room near the end of the article. We can be fairly certain that the undecided will be at zero by the end of the night.
Moreover, TalkLeft’s admittedly pro-Clinton Jeralyn Merritt has the final tally of registered voters for the primary. Notably, there are many times more older voters than the Obama-friendly 18-25 demo. In addition, the vaunted surge in voter registration ends up looking marginal against a potential base of 4.2 million voters.
Most of those factors point to a good night for Clinton. However, even if Clinton outperforms the poll averages by a few points, she could easily fall short of the double-digit victory that would deny Obama the ”moral victory” he was floating on PA radio yesterday. To beat expectations, she has to hope her organization can really turn out the vote in the more rural areas of the state to pad her popular vote total. And the popular vote will likely be the focus tonight, as the state’s large number of counties – split into multiple congressional districts — could delay the delegate counts for a day or longer.
Speaking of the expectations game, Obama prepares to spin loss as victory.

If this election isn’t living breating proof that we need a National Primary day I don’t know what is.
*breathing*
Back when the deadline to register was upon us, I looked at the polls and figured Hillary didn’t need my vote. In retrospect I probably still should have. Operation Chaos!
However, I am also not voting for McShamnesty. When I vote this afternoon I will be writing in one Fred Dalton Thompson, the man I originally wanted to vote for before that opportunity was taken from me.
Agreed. My “vote” is for 2/29 of each leap year. It’s a unique day. Once every four years.
Done.
Now that Tom Tancredo, a true American patriot is not running, I don’t want to vote for:
- Mobarak “Damn America” Obama.
- Hillary “No woman is illegal” Clinton.
- Juan McCain.
If I did, I wouldn’t respect my vote, or myself.
I have an appointment in a few moments, will stop by the polls later. They still have me listed as Republican even though I switched to “no party” a few weeks ago.
I was going to write him in, but after Sunday’s threads, forget it.
Here is hoping “Operation Chaos” works and gives “she who must not be named” a landslide victory in Pennsylvania. With no conservative in this fight for POTUS at least we can get the pleasure of the Democrats tearing each other apart to level the playing field to mitigate the big dump the “Stupid Party” has taken on conservatives.
Commence Operation Chaos!
And Caesar’s spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch’s voice
Cry ‘Havoc,’ and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
A record number of Pennsylvanians are registered to vote:8,328,123.
Who does this describe:
If you said Barack O’bama you’re wrong, it’s someone describing Joseph Goebbels.
I can’t believe I’m pulling for the Hildabeast today???
I guess it must be that I have to be a racist not to support the man who stands for nothing.
Right trolls.
TexasTiger love your post #8.
My favorite quote when going into harms way back in my active duty days. Very fitting for “Operation Chaos” too!
Aren’t they both snobs and liars?
ONLY GOD CAN HELP US EITHER WAY.
These candidates are not perfect. But both of them are miles ahead of McCain however you want to measure (except age). Did you read the McCain scandal that broke today? Open the manhole and poke your head out of the echo chamber.
Obama wants to win the nomination. He doesn’t need to win Pennsylvania to do it. He only needs to limit his loss to single digits. That’s fact, not spin.

Everyone you don’t like is a Nazi?
For votes from my house today. None for Obama.
lgm,
I haven’t quite figured out which species of sea gull you are? Care to clue me in?
You will not find many McCain supporters here. I’ve told you this before. I’ll have to chalk the rest of your statement up as a reflection of your party line bias.
at least have the courtesy to add IMHO. otherwise get back up you’re tree.
I certainly don’t have to dig very deep to make a shocking comparison in rhetorical techniques employed by both O’bama and Goebbels.
lgm,
Although I make it a rule to not answer the seagull I guess you don’t know the rule in a debate about being the first one to use the term “Nazi” loses. Guess what you lose!
I’m really not caring who wins today…as long as they both fight and claw as hard as they can and leave each other too weak and bloody to beat McShamnesty. I wasn’t going to vote for him, but things are too important and it is too dangerous a world to leave things up to Obamasama or the Hildabeast.
Reductio ad Hitlerum
Checkmate.
Boomer,
Soory, I just had to.
lgm,
How about service to country. McCain is miles ahead. SCAT!
“Will it be the snob or the liar?”
- ERR -UMMMM They are BOTH snobs…
…AND they are BOTH liars!
Michelle, I have to correct you. This race isn’t between a snob and a liar; it’s between a snobbish liar and a lying snob. There’s really no difference, except that Obama’s slightly more snobbish while Glacier’s slightly less honest.
Goebbels’ essay on propaganda: “The most effective way to defeat your political opponents is to question their patriotism.” I guess liberals should spend less time dragging down the
HeimlandHomeland and more time supporting ourFuhrerPresident.Enough. Bush is not Hitler, Obama is not Goebbels. McCain is not Stalin. An interventionist foreign policy does not make you Hitler. Having enthusiastic audiences does not make you Goebbels. Advocating a strong military does not make you Stalin.
Is that you chiding yourself lgm? I believe it was you who made the comparisons in the first place. Good for you.
*Image: 30 pcs, clapping her hands.*
LOL 30. I think I will join you. Who is this lgm. I am starting to think his kids have the day off and are using his moniker!
The Snob or the Liar? I’m confused. Because I think they’re both lying snobs.
You’ve shifted my argument. I suppose by your axiom Georges Santayana holds no credence. You can’t build a better mouse trap when you’re the mouse.
Wow, what a huge non-scandal….from 10 years ago….not.
Ft Ord was closing and the guy contacted someone he knew to help with land before the nitwits mostly from the dem side, declared it all a national refuge.
Whoever has this clowns real name and the university he works at, please post it one more time.
To be fair the first to throw out the nazi/Goebbels was undersiege in post #10. lgm was responding to that nonsense.
God, let us hope Hillary wins today. On the off chance that McCain loses I can’t imagine the havoc that Obama would create. That man is absolutely clueless. At least Hillary is just a liar… But then we’ve all known that all along. She’s not an idiot.
I just saw a headline that said something to the effect that both Hildabeast and Obummer are questioning each other’s character.
One problem with that - neither of them HAS any character.
lgm:
Is that an ambiguously gay come on? Sorry, but I don’t roll (or troll) that way. I only raise the issue because seagulls have a reputation.
“Lord, I apologize for that right there, and please be with the starvin’ pygmies down there in New Guinea, A-men.”
I saw the title and was really curious - which one are you talking about? They’re both snobs and liars.
Define “idiot”.
My how far the Democrat Party has fallen. Four years ago the party could offer a snob and a liar in one haughty package.
GO AUNTIE HILL… Keep the dream alive!!! (keep the battle going). WAY TO GO AUNTIE HILL!!!!
Joseph Goebbels
Barack O’bama
I guess my vote would go to Shrillary. She’s the drama queen.
Math Man- to say what you just said really indicates how blind you truly are in your liberal, we’re all right, you’re all wrong zone.
Don’t you have some indoctrination to do right about now?
Go Operation Chaos!! Unfortunately here in Germany we only get an hour of el Rushbo on AFN and the internet service is junk. Once again T-Mobile screws it up and I have to suffer. No Rush 24/7.
Funny to watch the chaos of the Democrats who are so blind they could not see the mess they would create with their screwed up primary system, cannot “UNITE” their state delegates with Michigan and Florida still disenfranchised, and are openly racist and divisive. They want their primary election decided before all the votes are cast let alone counted. These morons claim they have the ability to run the whole nation smoothly, promise to help the poor while every one of their leaders becomes a mega-millionaire, predict the future climate correctly when they could even predict the disgraceful process of their own primary, unite all peoples as they bring race and gender as issues into the campaign while maligning each other left and left, protect our voting system while desperately trying to shut their primary elections down. These are the dumbest, most vicious, creepiest people on earth and it makes me want to vomit every time they open their mouths. The Democrats need a good spanking followed by years of therapy.
The democrats will most surely unite behind their chosen candidate whomever it is… they’re the party of “Never Mind” lest we forget…
Now isn’t that an interesting development from the party that fights tooth and nail to oppose voter ID.
Do the Matricular Consular cards have a photo on them?
From lgm:
You, as a card carrying liberal, want to bring up this topic, when the term “Bushitler” is commonplace on liberal websites?
A comparison of the propaganda techniques of a Nazi does not make one a Nazi, but calling someone a form of Hitler certainly is.
Between BHO and HRC, one is as dangerously, disastrously liberal as the other, so I really couldn’t care less which of them wins today - as long as neither wins in November!
Hillary will win by about 8 pts tonight, but Obama will win N.C. and IN on May 6.
After that Hillary will stay in till June 3, but not spend a lot of cash(sorta like the Huckster did). She’ll drop out before July, and put her full support behind Obama. The superdelegates will overwhelmingly back Barack, and then Fl. and Mich. will be seated for Hillary, because it won’t matter numbers wise.
I know, ‘Operation chaos.’ Sorry, I could not vote that way as both hands would have been needed to hold my nose.
lgm, I’d rather put a cigarette out in my eye then read the NYT. I’ll check Drudge, Thanks!

Offering a little uplifting message makes you a Nazi?
Texas Tiger said(#35):
I imagine the right wing echo chamber as being like the dark places under the streets. You should lift the manhole cover and crawl out into the sunshine.
I dont see el skanky raising Oblahma’s hand above her head on any stage.
Yep, that Obummer, big on promises, short on details. I guess if that’s an “uplifting message,” I’ll get you some more of that hot air, since you seem to be full of it today.
As opposed to some partisan windbag (yourself?) teaching children PC politics in a history class, how there’s just “overwhelming proof” that Global Warming exists, how to take your meds and put on condoms properly?
I guess you’re used to cesspools like DC, Philly, New York, LA where along with “culture,” they provide everything from 400 million dollar schools, poverty/blight in minority neighborhoods along with resulting gang activity, employment where 50% of workers are illegals (cough cough migrants), punitive taxes (redistributed income to those who don’t work), etc.,etc.
Yeah, I want me some of that sunshine too, Math Man.
Do you also know that black holes just don’t exist in space… some of them also inhabit the life force known as “liberal reality?”
Aj. Hillary is no fool. She didn’t acquire all of her power by being an idiot. She is going to play the part of honorable party supporter, and set herself up for 2012 if Barack blows his chances against McCain. If Barack wins, she wants to make nice so that she and her hubby can get ideal appointments.
The only political mistake(unrelated to her ability to be honest) I’ve seen her make, is the way she completely underestimated Barack and assumed she’d be the chosen one on Super Tuesday.
If by some polling mistake or miracle Obama wins PA tonight, I think she’ll drop out after her defeats on May 6. She’ll suspend her campaign and support Barack unless he completely implodes before the convention.
The Right has shot is’s proverbial wad a little early with this whole Wright and Ayers issue. The swiftboating of Kerry worked because it hit right before the general election. You all better hope for something new, because the media won’t continue to reguritate Ayers and Wright. Also, McCain is nowhere near the debater that Hillary is. Obama is gonna give a killer speech at the convention and come out of their looking like the Beatles circa 1965.
Wow, dude, that’s so heavy!!! Now take another toke and crawl back in the man hole that YOU crawled out off with a backward perspective on what is really going on here!
The only dark places the people you refer to under the blanket category of an “echo chamber” is the shadow-land of stupidity in your postings.
lgm, do me a favor, reach behind to find that large mass residing just below your lower back….then go touch a hot rock.
Do you know the difference?
If I want an uplifting message I’ll crack open a fortune cookie.
misstressjustice, good luck with your take on things, I do agree she underestimated Oblahma the rest imho is hogwash.
This title reminds me of when I was once a fence sitter and my friend said to me, “Well, would you rather be an asshole or a liar?” I chose A.
Liars suck.
Sorry lgm. It’s always sunny in the Lone Star State. Now that the bluebonnets are blooming, it would be a crime to be inside.
Say “Hi” to your CHUD-buddies for me.
Lol.
Oh, “chud”. I had to look it up. For a minute there, I thought you meant “chad”, like, well, YOU know.
It’s so fun to watch the Dems imploding. I’ve already had to run to the store to get more popcorn.
I respectfully disagree. If we’d had a National Primary Day back in February, none of the interesting stuff about Obama–Rev Wright, his loathing of the country’s interior, Michelle’s incessant whining about how awful her life in America has been–ever would have made it into the MSM.
LGM LGM LGM
No thanks, LGM. The NY times already tried to pin a scam on McCain, and they are the worst journalists since Frontier Times. We’re not interested in your leftist lies.
Also, at least McCain can answer a question on illegal drivers’ liscences, doesn’t plant questions, and his pastor isn’t a racist and blames the white man for his “plight.”
When last I looked, he still doesn’t have 2025. You guys really have a screwed-up nomination process and even more screwed up candidates.
Now that is a bottom line quote if I ever heard one!!
I second that!
