Yep folks. This is our future generation.
Aren’t you all proud?
Call it BDS, but part of the blame here rests with President Bush himself.
And not in the way you might think. President Bush threw away a large percentage of his base with his insane Amnesty efforts. He called for example the Minutemen (a group you can be sure who had many a “W” bumpersticker) vigilantees and did so while standing next to America Bashing, Mexican President Fox.
Do that and other nonconservative matters (working with Kennedy, spending, etc.) and you lose your base.
Lose your base and that weakens you to such an extent that the bottom falls out. People that once defended you, simply don’t care that much. The chic of being tired of the administration grows and grows. The left is emboldened.
Bush had he stayed true to conservative issues, had he truly fought for real borders, stayed the course on not just Iraq but other issues would not be where he is today.
He would have many of the same wingnut hatemongers sure, but he would be holding I am sure somewhere in the 50s with regard to the polls.

If you keep putting in disclaimers, the trolls won’t ever have a comeback. Then we’ll be stuck with the seagull.
Concerned Citizen:
LOL true. I just thought it was necessary for me to make a distinction between using “propaganda” as a neutral adjective and as CRAZY RIGHT WING RHETORIC OMG!
I have homework to do and didn’t want to get in a stupid fight over something that had little to do with what I actually said.
timinphoenix: Good point.
BlameAmericaLast: I’m a member of this “Future Generation” too! Don’t write us all off just yet!
You strike at the heart of the problem: it didn’t start in college. Or high school. Or junior high. Or even elementary school. These kids are being hit right from preschool and kindergarten. Sit down and watch morning cartoons.
Sure, Bush’s “approval ratings” are low. But the Democrat “led” Congress (you know, the most honest, transparent, blah blah, blah Congress ever) has approval ratings that average around 20% (http://www.pollingreport.com/CongJob.htm)
So where are the caricatures of Pelosi and Reid? If the approval ratings are your basis for the rank idiocy displayed by these individuals, then there is more than ample reason for Congressional leaders to be similarly caricatured.
Where are they?
Hmmmm…..seems the stream of creative thought at LBCC has become a stagnant pool of vacuousness.
.
Could not agree more. I am still ticked off about that. And McCain will be worse.
That being said, I really don’t think that last summer’s amnesty fight was what influenced these students to do the caricatures in question.
Right, then the graduates get their first paycheck and see all of the deductions taken out for the “socialism” they espoused while in school.
Grow up, Otherside your problem is you think everyone is stupid.
I can’t wait till they do one of Jesus Christ, I am sure they are brave enough to do that. The question is how brave are they if they did the Prophet Mohammand. My hunch is that they would back off on Mohammand and have no qualms on doing Jesus Christ,, no not at all.
In an error riddled #72, TOS said “Reading comprehension is a lost art indeed”.
You demonstrate that spelling is also.
I don’t think everyone is stupid. I do think that about 33% of MM.com commentors are blindly misinformed.
Actually, I think I demonstrate that proofreading is a lost art. lol Nice to have the grammer/spelling police chime in though.
-A-R, OtherSide. G-R-A-M-M-A-R.
(I hate attacks on spelling and grammar, but that one misspelling drives me up the wall. I blame Fourth Grade Spelling class.)
Why is it people such as yourself never seem to comprehend that freedom of expression isn’t very impressive when the supposed thinking that went into the expression is always the same.
That sounds
vaguely almost sorta kinda a little somewhatelitist. Not that feebs (or any other commenter here) needs any help but…
1. Show us an example of common sense.
We can wait all night if you like.
2. Last I checked MM wasn’t supported by taxpayers.
33% of us are blindly misinformed, as I recall. Sounds like 1/3 of us do need help!
He probably had to take an art elective this semester.
Would love to, but 0430 comes early in Seattle. Cheers. Have fun with our resident liberal defender.
Dear TOS:
I am feeling a bit “passed over.” What is your reply to my commentary in #105?
I addressed your conclusions with facts and poked big holes in your theory. I would really like to hear your response.
Sincerely,
Dimsdale
TOS:
By the way, is there an Official Village Voice Election-Season Guide to the Left-Wing Blogosphere?
I am sure it would be as pithy and informative as the Right Wing guide.
Question: If I made a sculpture of a monkey with Obama’s head, wouldn’t I be charged with racism?
(Or with sexism if I did Hillary?)_
The other 67% are not trolls.
Have you been to college? You do realize that these young, misinformed adults have to ‘parrot’ to get the grade? I knew that when I attended, and that was years ago. And my grades suffered. Especially if I contradicted one of the instructors, or, *gasp*, pointed out an error in their presentation.
TOS!!
Does this mean I win?
My most politically outspoken professors were in Biology 101 (Global Warming nut) and Psychology of Religion (harped on and on about the war in Iraq…) Other than that, I’ve been lucky not to have professor pushing their political agendas (I’m a Poli Sci major) and have never been hesitant to offer differing opinions.
Maybe all the liberal professors here have just given up since I go to a Southern university…
My point was regarding ‘parroting’ to make it through college. I went to a small, liberal-arts college in Virginia during the Reagan years! Aside from being taught by hippies in some cases, very few ‘political’ lines in the sand were drawn.
Actually, I kind of liked the monkey. It cries out for captions: “Where’d my base go?” Or, “What part of fiscal responsibility don’t me understand?”
Granted, the Nazi stuff is the usual pile of leftist horse doo, but there might be a Republican pony in there somewhere.
…or else they just keep quiet so their lib pals in other cities don’t know.
Sorta like a liberal shopping at Wal-Mart after 9pm, so their friends don’t find out.
*snicker* Nice.
Judging by TOS’s reticence to come back and defend his talking points, I guess I do indeed win!
As one Harry S. Truman said: “I never give them hell. I just tell the truth and they think it’s hell.”

LOL. Too funny.
