Aw, s**t: Yet another Billbo eruption

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 23, 2008 08:48 AM

I did a quick little piece last night for the NYPost on Billbo’s latest purple fit. An excerpt:

AW, “s–t” - another Billbo eruption.

Back in January, worried Democrats pleaded with Bill Clinton to zip his wildly flapping lips.

Teddy Kennedy and Rahm Emanuel reportedly told him to tone down the attacks on Barack Obama. None would comment on the record about those discussions. But based on his latest profanity-laced comments caught during a radio interview with a Philadelphia station on Monday, we don’t have to guess how Clinton reacted:

“I don’t think I should take any s–t from anybody.”

Clinton was talking to a WHYY host who asked him about his comparison of Obama’s win in South Carolina to Jesse Jackson’s win there in 1984.

The host noted that a black Philadelphia official had switched her support after construing Clinton’s remarks in South Carolina as an effort to marginalize Obama as “the black candidate.”

The host hit Clinton’s touchy-touchy spot.

How dare she have the audacity to suggest that he, Bill “First Black President” Clinton, had engaged in race-baiting! After all, his office is in Harlem - “and Harlem voted for Hillary, by the way” - he fumed.

Clinton then went, well, all Clinton on the host and on the Obama camp, accusing them of “playing the race card” (those were his exact words) and plotting to “do it all along.”

The narcissism, the conspiratorial mindset, the Olympics-sized sense of entitlement, liberal immunity, and indignation, the utter lack of discipline. It was a classic Clintonian moment. All that was missing was a bald-faced lie…

… On a momentous primary night that should have been all about Her, The Big He made it all about Him. As her macho campaign ad baited Obama about his inability to stand the heat in the kitchen, her own husband was melting down in front of the cameras.

This comes on the heels of his humiliatingly false, non-defense defense of Hillary’s Bosnia sniper fire fable - wherein he insisted she only told the lie once (it was three times) and late at night when she was “exhausted” (try well-rested and well-practiced, dating back to December) - and a multitude of outbursts against other reporters meekly raising questions about his racially divisive comments and tactics.

The finger-wagging king of purple fits can’t control his temper, his mouth, or his self-destructive egotism. He may well cost his wife any slim chance she has left of emerging victorious in Denver this August.

Karl Rove couldn’t have planted a more effective saboteur.

It still amazes me that we who live in the most blessed country in the world and are the most blessed nation still find room to complain. What? Our two cars, nice home, expensive clothes..enough food to make us fat..isn’t enough for us anymore. What a spoiled people we are.

There are 4 generations now in the work force. When each generation was asked to list the most important events that took place in the first 15 years of our lives which impacted us the most.

Previous generations of course, named WWII, the GI bill, Vietnam, the depression, landing and walking on the moon, the invention of color TV.

The youngest generation named….Columbine. Though everyone would agree this was a devistating event, the fact that this was the event that had the most impact on this youngest generation, was very telling to me.

Sometimes, it is like shooting puppies in a barrel.

Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming to a balanced budget and welfare reform. Job creation? Exactly what jobs did Bill Clinton create? How about military interventions that were ineffective (remember the chance he had at bin Laden?).

Now answer me this: when did Enron and Arthur Anderson do all the bad things that came to a head during Bush’s admin? Who actually wrote the legislation in 1995 (and is still on the Senate Banking committee!) that allowed the Enron and AA debacles to happen? Chris Dodd, who pushed through a law called the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. According to a legal expert on the subject, this law did four things: (1) It raised the pleading standards for class action securities fraud cases to a level well above the level for fraud cases in general. (2) It substituted proportionate liability for joint and several liability. (3) It restricted RICO so that treble damages could no longer apply to securities fraud cases. (4) It adopted a highly lax position on making forward-looking financial predictions.

When did the stock market actually start to pick up steam (hint: it coincided with the election of Republican leadership to the Congress) Oh hell, why wait for you?

In the first two years of the Clinton/Gore administration, with a democrat Congress and pursuing anti-growth democrat economic policies, the DJIA rose from 3310.00 to 3843.90. That’s an anemic 7.76% compounded annual return. The OTC was even worse: rising from 696.34 to 755.20, a pathetic 4.14% compounded annual return.

In the first two years after the republicans gained control of the Congress, the DJIA rose from 3843.90 to 6813.10. That’s a 33.1% average annual return. The OTC performance was even better: rising from 755.20 to 1379.85, a 35.2% average annual return. In the second two year period of the republican controlled Congress, the DJIA rose another 37.36%, from 6813.10 to 9358.80, an average annual return of 17.2%. And in the second two year period of the republican led Congress, the OTC rose 81.61%, from 1379.85 to 2505.89, an average annual return of 34.8%.

Recession or not (and they are cyclical, whether you like it or not) the DJIA has been pretty stable throughout the Bush admin, despite 9/11 and the war.

The questions stands: what did Clinton have to do with job creation? What jobs did he directly create?

The evidence shows that Newt Gingrich and the Republican led Congress had more to do with creating an environment conducive to job creation.

What did she misrepresent? She is trying to say that he said “I don’t think I should take any s–t from anybody.” to the radio host. First of all, that is a complete misquote, he actually said:

“I don’t think I should take any shit from anybody on that, do you?”

Secondly, she is trying to say that he said that to the host in response to be questioned about his “race card” comment. That is complete bull. He said it after the interview was over, to his handler, asking his handler if he thought he said anything someone could give him shit for. I agree with you, he is a lying douche-bag. But there are plenty of lies we can call him on without making shit up. And Michelle and all of you here lose a lot of credibility when you do so. The fact that you can’t see the difference here is ridiculous.

There are narratives to spin, and the accurate reporting of facts is sort of secondary. Nonetheless, Malkin’s writing is very sharp and often times extremely entertaining…warts and all, a very good blog.

That kind of thinking used to serve the Clintons well in the 1990s, but it’s pretty clear that the magic is gone.

And it’s obviously sticking in Bill’s craw that his former imperial litter-bearers in the media have unceremoniously dumped him and Hillary on the ground - so they can lift Obama up on their shoulders.

If Obama does one act of public service for America, it’ll be to help keep the Clintons from re-infesting the White House. Once he’s accomplished that purpose, his usefulness is over.

I pretty much loathe Billy boy, but that’s NOT what he said and he did NOT say it to the radio host like Ms. Malkin contends. I agree with about 99% of what Ms. Malkin writes, but if we can’t be honest and not fabricate stories (when there are plenty of actual stories to call Clinton on) then we are no better than the slime that comes out of the left wing blogs.

The LA Times and the Washington Post seem to have left the whole episode out, not just four words. I see what you’re driving at, but don’t agree that in this case it’s that big a deal. And while it may seem like parroting to you, I had read several of the articles yeterday, and knew what it was reported he had said. My point was not simply to parrot Michelle, but that he has a temper and a short fuse, and I think he feels he doesn’t have to take anything from anybody - “on that” or for any reason - and it can lead to, well who knows?

Fair enough. Bill Clinton can be embarrassing, very embarrassing.

Still, he was a better President than Reagan or any of the Bushes. Balanced budget, rising middle class income (after inflation), job creation, military interventions with few American lives lost, … .

    Military interventions that were unsuccessful!

Did he kill Osama? NO! We didn’t even have the right targets!

And what about former Yugoslavia? All bombing!

That’s why there were less casulties, and he didn’t have the stomach for more of somalia.

And a better president? Then why was he nearly impeached?

Sex in the oval office. Gotta love post-modern liberalism.

Even if that didn’t happen, he still is a baby-killer.
