A man heckling First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna outside the 92nd Street Y was arrested after he punched a wheelchair-bound girl whose parents has told him to shut up, authorities said yesterday. German Talis, 22, was shouting obscenities at the Bushes, who were leaving the building Tuesday, when he crossed paths with Wendy and John Lovetro and their daughter Maureen, 18, who has cerebral palsy.
They had been in the audience to hear the Bushes talk about their children’s book, “Read All About It.”
“He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, ‘What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,’ ” said John Lovetro. “He was unperturbed. I said, ‘Get out of here! You’re being a moron!’ ”
The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen - a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004.
“I heard my daughter hysterical yelling, ‘He’s hitting me!’ ” said Wendy Lovetro.
“He punched her on the shoulder blades, but that wasn’t enough,” she said.
“My husband pushed the wheelchair away from him and he reached beyond my husband and began pounding my daughter in the thigh.”
I expect Linn Benton Community College will offer Talis a full scholarship ASAP.

All I can say is that it is a good thing I was not witness to such an event or I surely would have caught charges myself for attempting to adjust his outlook on why he thinks is appropriate to assault someone in a wheelchair.

He reminds me of the hero I encountered upon returning from Vietnam. I was severely wounded in my right foot, wearing a walking cast & using a cane to aid my walk. A group of Army returnees went out of SF airport ahead of me. the hero didn’t say a word to them, but decided it would be OK to spit on a Marine Green uniform that wasn’t moving well. He missed with the spit bomb, but my cane opened up a nice 4-5 gash on the side of his head. the funniest part was a SF cop observed it, & told the hero & his very ugly girlfriend that he saw the assault & if they wanted to make a deal out of it he would arrest both of them for assault. After the hero left it turned out the cop was ex-Army. FYI, I was officially Navy (corpsman) who served with the Marines & still consider myself a Marine as I spent the bulk of my time with them.
If I wasn’t a gentleman, I’d seek this villiage idiot out and make certain that some truths were ingrained into his psyche permanently. This is beyond disgusting.
Michelle, about the family, is there any indicator that they are have troubles due to supporting this young lady with medical bills? If so, I’d like to donate to help their legal and/or medical costs.

Under ADA & c., a disabled girl has a higher level of legal protection than a homosexual. The law still usually manages to protect those who actually need legal protection.

After watching the video, I’m convinced that Gary was mad because he couldn’t have his way with the Secret Service Agent, and then after the girl’s big Dad told him to shut up, he looked around to find someone he could take it out on and she fit the bill. It makes my stomach churn to hear these scumb call out “free speech” while they try to stop others from speaking.
Gary should be put away for many years, but we know he won’t. He’ll get some liberal judge to slap his wrist and tell him to go home to mommy. The only ones who are punished are the victims. I hope Mrs. Malkin keeps us updated on this case, but then I should know better than to hope, for I’m sure she will.

This story made me cry; literally. Where is the outrage from the alleged rescuers of the downtrodden and helpless on the left? I would expect even THEY would condemn this hideous attack.

You can test the veracity of this group when you examine the video of the event. At first we see a verbal confrontation between Gary and a Secret Service agent. Then a physical confrontation that conveniently destroys the video camera. Magically later we see a “different” video camera in use with the same sound level as the original camera, the same light levels, held at the same height off the ground as the original camera.
The fact that they lied about the camera getting broken when it wasn’t, tells me that they edited out the truth that showed Gary acting like a crazed truther with BDS. They had a video camera, why didn’t they film the guy with the disabled daughter attacking Gary as they claim? Why? Because they are lying.
For those of you who don’t have the time to listen in detail, here’s some choice excerpts of the conversation between the policeman and Gary/Matt as G/M sits in the van:
Officer: “I told you. I was right there when it happened.”
Gary: “….kicked out of the building for no reason.”
Officer: “Well, you committed criminal trespass.”
Gary: ” I didn’t commit criminal trespass. I had paid for a ticket. I was sitting in my seat….”
Officer. “Then you were harassing them…”
Gary. “I was picked up and removed…I was just…”
Officer. ” I have trouble believing that.”
