Hillary Clinton: Prayer Warrior.
Wow, it looks like we’ve seriously misunderstood the depth and importance of Hillary Clinton’s religious faith:
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is more devout than public perception has allowed, her Methodism carried close to her heart alongside her political interests, even if she is almost reluctant to talk about it….
Mrs. Clinton, who has downplayed religion for much of her campaign, called her Christian journey a “serious search” as she opened up at a recent Compassion Forum at Pennsylvania’s Messiah College.
“I worry that you have to walk the walk of faith,” she said at the forum, where she offered a glimpse of the role that faith has played in her political life. “Talking about it is important because it’s important to share that experience. But I also believe that, you know, faith is just — it’s grace. It’s love. It’s mystery. It’s provocation. It is everything that makes life and its purpose meaningful as a human being.
“We have created this democracy where we choose our leaders, and we have to be more mindful of how important and serious a business this is,” she said.
As the “American Papist” site notes, she’s very ecumenical, too:
So, here it is: on the day of a crucial primary for her campaign, in a state with a large Catholic vote, Hillary Clinton deliberately wears a piece of religious jewelry identifying her with a popular Catholic devotion.
Am I surprised? Not at all. After all, it paid off. She won the “Catholic vote”.
Yet despite her sincere, abiding Metholic/Cathedist faith, clearly demonstrated by prayer breakfasts and eyecatching jewelry, the public just doesn’t think of her as Teresa of Avila. From the WashTimes link:
Exit polls during the presidential primaries show that the New York senator seems to do well with religious Democrats and church attendees, along with white and Hispanic Catholics and Protestants. But in a Pew Forum survey last summer, Mrs. Clinton received a very low rating when pollsters asked likely voters how religious they perceived the candidates to be.
“There were people in the Clinton campaign who were just flabbergasted,” said John C. Green, a senior fellow in religion and American politics at the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. “Somehow, many Americans have developed this image of Mrs. Clinton as largely a very secular politician.”
Flabbergasted! (Quit snickering, you.) Those doubters probably just haven’t seen her tattoo yet:
Advisers say she got it in a duck blind, while saying the Pledge of Allegiance and not being a secret Muslim.
RELATED: Here’s more skeptical religious negativity about Hillary from London’s Telegraph:
There’s an unholy alliance developing between Hillary Clinton and conservative Republicans to stop Barack Obama.
That’s objective, all right. And that’s Britain’s conservative paper. The columnist, Toby Harnden, goes on to cluck his tongue at the NCGOP’s ad, “which featured that old Deep South fear-mongering combination of a black man and a white woman.”
Hey, genius, maybe that’s because it’s an ad about how the woman featured in the ad, Beth Bev Perdue, is running for governor of North Carolina–and has endorsed Barack Obama and by extension his radical politics. There’s also a (white) man named Richard Moore featured in the ad, also running for governor, also endorsed Obama–but his inclusion doesn’t fit the Telegraph’s predetermined “racist hicks” sneer.

ROFLMAO
I almost fell out of my chair, when I read that, see-dubya!
Typical Clinton pandering to a specific audience … she learned that from Bill and they rarely get called on it …
Where did she go after that? … A Southern Baptist convention or Presbyterian college or a Synagogue???? …
The Clintons have been known to speak to diametrically opposed groups on the same day and voice the diametrically opposed ideas needed to cull the vote from each group by their conflicting statements …
Anytime her lips are moving you know she is lying …
Wake up people …
I wonder at which point during prayers God told her to support Partial-Birth abortion.
Once again we see…
It’s ok to be religious and a Democrat/Liberal.
But if you’re Republican/Conservative and tout your religeous beliefs, you’re an extremist
I’m waiting for the campaign stop at the compound in Texas, dressed as Little House on the Prairie, with her hair in a bun.
“Bill and I both believe in Polygamy though we’re reluctant to talk about it.”
Great post SEE_DUBYA!
I weep for “Christians” who are fooled by her tactics.
“Talking about it is important because it’s important to share that experience”
Let me see how that translates in English.
“I am at a “Christian” function. Must remember to be “Christian””.
People fall for this. Nay, I weep for the species.
She seems a little “clingy” to me.
Um, doesn’t one make a “serious search” for something that is lost?
When does she have time to make this search, if it is so important to her?
Does it count as “prayer” when she’s out there ducking snipers bullets and running to cover, while saying over and over, “Please, God, don’t let me die…! Please, God, don’t let me die…! Please, God, don’t let me die…!”
That would be sHillary, alright.
So when her fellow dhimms bring sharia law on us all, will that tat change from a fish to a crescent? I wonder if she has a tat on her arm that says “MOM?” or maybe a tribal band??? HAHAHAAA funniest thing I’ve seen today! Thank you see-dubya
My Granny always used to sing a song called “it’s a sin to tell a lie”. Wonder if Hillary ever heard of it.
Barry F. #9
Yeppers … sorry if I wasn’t clear on who was lying …
I think sHillary’s rendition is “It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie and Get Caught”, John.
My sentence ended with “alright”, DL, showing my agreement with what you had said. There was no question in my mind.
Barry F.
If she doesn’t win she’ll dump religion like a rock.
(image: feebz on the ground by her desk, grabbing her torso in a complete giggle fit over this nonsense)
(tears….can’t stop…must breath)
(oooooooo bwwwwaaaahhhahhahahahahahhaah)
aj … gotta agree with you there … since it is just a “trial balloon” she floated out there her losing will simply let all the air out of it …
This woman is an unapologetic liar of stupendous proportions.
That’s because her heart, TRUE political interests and TRUE religious beliefs are in three seperate jars well hidden lest they be found and someone find a way to end her evil once and for all.
Does the coven go on the campaign trail with her?
“That woman, Mrs. Rodham”
hehe
She will do anything, say anything, and wear anything she can to become POTUS.
With the way things are with her and slick willy we know what she won’t be doing at 3am!
President Bush has been called a thousand names for honestly stating that he prayed.
Jimmy Carter, on the other hand, is a traitorous idiot who is also a lay preacher and nary a word is mentioned - he is a “Statesman” according to the MSM..
But Hillary’s lying, pandering lunacy that seems to never end going uncalled by the MSM is further proof.. Let’s see - A lying Communist, an openly racist Communist or a Liberal war hero.. We are truly between the Devils and the deep blue sea..
LOL, just spit my coffee out on that one.
Trinitarian Triangulation presented as fact by a Terpsichorean Taleteller
so, are we to presume the focus groups have clearly indicated a thumbs-up for the religious posturing to extend to at least the blible clingers in IN & NC vote on the 6th?
/when’s the last time this woman did anything spontaneously? the 80s?
Buckaroo
probably more like the 50s …

even put that way, pretty darn easy choice there …
DL
hm, good point, we know marrying bill was surely not a lark …
:-0
So if she’s such a “Good Christian” where is her Bible and her gun?
I wonder if she read the 10 Commandments, where it says, “Thou shalt not bear false witness.”?
I wonder if she read what Jesus thought of the Priests who wore their faith on their shirtsleeve, so they would look good for the people?
I can’t decide which is worse, someone with no religion-based moral compass, or someone who feigns having a religion-based moral compass.
What to do, what to do?
# 32
um, who are you trying to compare there?
How one can say they are of the faith yet do not oppose abortion and gay right is ludicrous and how people fall for this is even more ridiculous.
I do pray that she is sincere but her actions show different as do her outrageous lies.
Yes, we are all sinners but to not oppose abortion has to be the biggest clue to where you stand in your faith.
Shrillary, Holy Warrior? Since when? I found it particularly hilarious the little red, fish on her foot. Could not keep from spraying water on my computer screen!!!
See-Dubya, I wondered if you had any more details on the following:
What is Perdue’s background? Is she related to the Perdue family that plucks chickens for a living?
The reason I ask, is because, just last weekend, my husband and I were driving down the Eastorn Shore region of VA and passed the Perdue chicken plant…. the town surrounding the plant had a lot of little Mexican “tiendas” (shops) and the area also looked quite depressed.
I wonder if it’s like that in North Carolina in some parts where the Perdues must have some chicken plants in that area.
If anybody can shed light on this, please feel free.

You’re right. They’re both the Hildebeast. Thanks.

yeah, that’s the conclusion i wuz kinda reaching too!

She probably got that idea from 2nd Opinions 6:66
ROFLMAO
Don’t forget that when the Clintons were in Arkansas, she pretended to be Baptist. Then when the Clintons got to the White House, they quickly signed on with a left wing church where the minister regularly railed against the “rich”. The Clintons reverence for religion and for places of worship seems not to have stopped the Clintons or Al Gore from grubbing money in a Budhist temple.
Religion to the Clintons could use the same reference as Gore’s diatribes …
An Inconvenient Truth …
…and Pillosee’s quote was from 1st OPN 6:66

Or perhaps she got the idea while watching Al Gore’s new documentary: An Inconvenient Baby
It’s that part of the Bible:
I wish that you were hot or cold. Since you are neither, I shall allow you to expel a child in the most vile means imaginable.
Darth Hillary finds your lack of faith disturbing /applies evil jedi throttle….
TEEEEEEEJ
“All this will be yours, if only you bow down and worship me.” I wonder how many politicians have bowed down. It seems these day,for many, that corruption of the soul is okay, as long as they get power. They have no interest in the “people”, only their own interest. It is almost as if voting is a “necessary evil” that one must endure as a citizen of this country.
So, when the Pope encourages people to think of illegal immigrants in terms of morality and not jursiprudence or politics, every one here is angry and starts talking about the irrelevance of religious ideas to politics. When a pro-baby killing politician talks about being a Methodist, she is criticized for not letting her faith influence her politics. Hillary Clinton is just thinking (wrongly) that religious convictions ought be separate from jurisprudential ones, and she thinks the constitution allows abortion. She’s making the same error scores of commenters made when they said the Pope shouldn’t talk about immigration, just on a different issue. Whether or not Hillary’s faking it is one thing, but criticizing her for being Methodist and pro-abortion only makes sense if you have a consistent idea of the relationship between moral theology and politics/ jurisprudence.
She has “faith” with a small “f” - secular faith, which has no root in truth. How can anyone so stridently pro-death have faith? It’s yet another con from a dangerous pathological liar. How can a Catholic vote for her in good conscience? Maybe “catholics” with a small “c”.
ROTFLMAO Those are some great ones Trollman.
Can I criticize her for being disingenious about the way she choses to practice “religion” for political purposes (abortion aside)?
Dude, you are craptacular…keep posting.
I don’t know about the song, but I think Hill and Bill both have missed the part in the Bible that has the 10 commandments. Between “thou shalt not lie” and “thou shalt not commit adultry” they must figure since they’re in so deep, what’s the use with messing with the other eight.
good point jroberts
First, she’s disingenuous, not disingenious. Disingenious is not a word, but if it were, it would mean “not a genius,” or maybe “not a genie.” Disingenuous means fake; that is, not in the same sort (Latin genus) that she claims to be. Second, my point was that whether or not she’s disingenuous for claiming to be a Methodist is a separate issue from whether or not she should be criticized for being ostensibly Christian and outspokenly pro-abortion. Did I say I think she’s ingenuous? No. My point is that the logic of the criticism presumes one attitude towards the relationship between faith and law that is not consistent with the attitude towards that same relationship expressed when talking about the Pope.
If you’re going to resort to name-calling, you ought to cuss properly or come up with something creative.
and thank you zorro.
Did Hillary say when she was born again? I was raised Methodist too but I never did hear a gospel message on sin, redemption and being born again. She is only pandering.
Sue me, my spell checker is permenantly broken.
Maybe she was seriously searching for her faith when she couldn’t find those Rose Law firm recores.
Or maybe it was when Bill was in the Oral Office with ‘ol blue dress.
What a phony.
The only thing she forgot was to thank her personal Lord and Savior. Jesus.
No not Jesus Obama.
Perhaps Hillary came to faith while dodging sniper fire. You know, the whole “there are no atheists in foxholes” thing…
Ever hear of the time she and Bill were in the back seat of a limo and she the secret service agent in the back of the head with the Bible because they were going to be late for a church service? She let some very bad words fly out of her mouth at the same time, berating the agents in a very foul manner.
And I never, never, never, EVER saw her wear a cross until she campaigned in SC just before the primary there. Tell me, WHEN have you ever seen her without her chokers (short necklaces)?
And her definitions of “faith” made me gag. What a piece of work.
She has not one ounce of integrity or honesty. She is as cold as they come.
She doesn’t do ‘honesty’ very well. She looked extremely uncomfortable. Talked slow and deliberately, had to think much about what to say. Had to keep reminding herself, “Don’t look down and left…Don’t look down and left.”
Hillary: “Well, you know as an Atheiormonbapterianmethodolicutheran, I remember that once I even had to deal with a twinge in my conscience when I stumbled into a “truth deficiency.”
But, I know its made me a better politician and I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t gotten over it.”
i wouldnt mind seeing a little less religious talk coming from our elected leaders
We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. I have no idea as to what is in her heart. Certainly I hope the Holy Spirit is alive in her and is working with her to understand His will.
Piling on Sen. Clinton on the issue of faith is not in anyone’s best interest. It is between her and the Lord.
