I think that employers should be required to properly check the immigration status of individuals before they are hired.

If the illegales can’t get work, they will go back to Mexico or wherever else they came from.

The problem with Sheriff Joe is the non-story of 4 illegales in Aguila results in an instant press release.

Another problem with Sheriff Joe is the people of Maricopa County are saddled with 50+ million dollars of claims against Sheriff Joe and his incompetent employees for inmates who die or are serious injured in his custody.

The comments are accurate.

Sheriff Joe is an obnoxious publicity whore.

For Sheriff Joe, getting out the press releases is more important effective law enforcement.

I am an employer in Idaho and decided to sign up for the E-Verify program, although I only have one non-citizen (legal) employee. Tried it the first time this week on a new hire and was amazed at the instant response. Registering was easy, it even included a (mandatory) tutorial to make sure you use it properly. Other than needing to bookmark the website, since the name isn’t obvious, I would highly recommend it to any and all employers.
Oh, and you have to post a notice stating that you participate in the program. Just having that sign next to the help wanted sign will probably do the trick. Each state should require E-Verify of its employers; it’s one unfunded mandate I can actually support.

Awesome.

Like a lot of anti-illegal alien people have pointed out before, if we stop catering to them they will all self-deport. As long as we continue to provide work, money, charity, spanish-language services, free healthcare, and education for them to grab they will continue grabbing it.

They need to self-deport, go back to Mexico and start a revolution. Many of them are hard-working and do want a better life, so they should demand that Calderon and his flunkies provide it for them.
