A few intrepid protesters braved the rain and joined the Free Republic demonstration at 8am outside the National Press Club. John Lilyea was there and posts a few pics:

Actually, I think I like Reverend Wright. Every time he opens his mouth, Barack Obama looses another point in the polls.

I was interviewed by Roland Martin in the WVON radio studios last Fall. I was there for “Think Condi”, along with our Communications Director.
All Roland wanted to talk about was Iraq. Every time we made a positive point regarding the progress or about Condi in general, Roland responded with what sounded like chest pains. (”Augh!!! Augh!!! Augh!!!”) He shouted us down several times.
As we were driving away from the studio after the interview, the next radio show began. We listened to it for a while.
I remember the dj saying “I love and respect Diana Ross. I would address her as Ms. Ross because I think she has earned that, so my question becomes how are we going to impeach President Bush? What would be the best way??”

Rev Wright cites African based learning, tonality in music, spoken history, etc.. I just wish he had an Afrocentric citizenship.
Why do so many blacks stay here in the USA when they could readily emigrate to an African country of their choice?
If I was suffering as a Norwegian-American I would have emigrated years ago to Europe. Now, why is it that there is a waiting list for decades of people from Africa, and the Carribean nations, to immigrate to the USA if it is such an oppressive, racist country?

It is amazing that they have not had comments from other ‘famous’ black preachers like Bishop T D Jakes and their take on the Reverend Wright’s message. I know that Rev Wright is not the typical black pastor nor is his the typical black church.
Pandering to hate speech is the typical lefty loon’s MO. Not surprised by the CNN commentators, but am surprised that they think that the average American is okay with this hate speech.
This democrat primary is about two minority voting blocs, the black and the hispanic, who do you think is going to win? as this will determine the face of the minority voting bloc for dems for the future. i wonder if they want to disenfanchise the hispanic vote so soon? intersting democrat roast coming this summer. can’t wait to sit back and watch this play out..
This episode is yet another reason why I don’t watch CNN anymore. What happened to these two pseudo journalists being neutral observers who report the news?
It’s like decrying America is a new favorite habit, not only among bigots like Obummer and Wright, but the media. If Wright hates America so much, why doesn’t he pack up and move to Africa, which he loves so much? If African culture is so “awesome” then why is the continent writhing in disease, criminality, civil wars, and chaos? Why is the African culture any more superior than the Egyption?
When journalists start to become fans of that which they cover, they are no longer reporters but cult junkies.
You don’t achieve “equality” by asserting superiority - especially when you favor affirmative action because your “people” aren’t competitive scholastically. Rev.Wright doesn’t leave us too many options to a race war…

Wright is “descriptive” in the same way that David Duke is “descriptive.” And when David Duke “describes” his racist ideas he is no less divisive because he happens to be describing his obviously intense and personal racist views.

No, Soledad and Roland, you two must have missed the memo. Wright is in the spotlight because he’s offensive, not because he’s admirable. I read the greater contexts, too, and they were even more offensive than the sound bites were by themselves.
We think we’re God? Calling all pots, calling all pots - kettle is bl…wait, how do I say this without people inferring that I’m racist? That’s the thing - I can’t. But Jeremiah “the Scientist” Wright, with his two Masters and a PhD (wake me when I’m supposed to be impressed), can hurl insults at every American to his heart’s content (and can do so in five different languages, if he wanted), and CNN can repeat said insults enthusiastically.
CNN still can’t bring themselves to directly quote him, instead saying “GD”. Why is that? FCC rules? If you say so. “Oh, it’s just that ol’ GD speech, that’s nothin’. GD it, what a great guy, that Reverend Wright! And he’s GD funny, too!” Gag-worthy, indeed.
One more thing: in the case of the guy holding the “God damn Wright” sign, I don’t think it’s cool. Name-calling (even like I did above) is borderline detestable at times, but even I don’t want Wright to go to hell. That’s not for me to decide. I understand that it’s satire to some extent (and a lot of anger - I’m angry, too), but damning anyone - even in jest - should be frowned upon. That’s how all this got started. Set the example by not stooping to the same level. (To think that someone who calls himself and is regarded as a reverend wants to damn us all…sheesh!)

I too wondered about his comments about his color today and if they are based in self-hate. I thought he was indicating that white blood made his skin that lighter color, but I am just speculating. That type of hate projects quite a distance. . .just sayin’…we already know he despises Unlce Toms and Tiger Woods.
They will wear their groupie-gear to a hate-mongers speech but not American flag pins. Where would one put a flag pin on that get-up, anyway?
Liberals believe that “God Damn America” is justified by the context of the speech. In other words, once they hear the litany of reasons to hate America in Wright’s sermon, they think “God Damn America” is a logical conclusion.
As Wright pointed out today, by his own admission, their God is a different God than white Christians. Different Theology. Different Anthropology. Different Sociology. As one can see, black theology is a hybrid of Nation of Islam and African Nationalism and Hate Whitey. Not deficient, just different. . .

I have been holding back about a comment on black history that I have not seen posted here, but Mr. Wright has made me decide its time.
At the end of the Civil War in the US there were 3775 free blacks in the south that owned over 12,400 slaves. Now, Mr. Wright who are the racists? Blacks became slaves because of there own “black/Afican brothers”. One of the first slave cases in Colonial Virginia was a black man who thought he was an indentured servant. He took his Sponsor to court was told he was indeed a slave. His now “owner” was black.
Slavery was never about racism, it was about economics and politics in the US and in Africa. Jim Crow was about racism and keeping a group of second class citizens who where mostly black. Other races were included by Jim Crow. Jim Crow has been overturned as the law of the land and replaced with Crow Jim (affirmative action).
So to all the “black leaders” are the decendents of the black slave owners racists? Are they going to have to pay reparations that you would like to have paid? Stop preaching hate and lies and start working to fix the problems that exist in the community where you claim to help and preach, while building your $1.6 million home.

This really isn’t funny. These people from CNN are poisoning our children’s minds. Average news seeking people do not go looking else where for their news, they go to CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS or local papers like the NY Times and Washington Post. Their kids see what they see on TV and the newspapers and believe what the see because Mom or Dad can’t be wrong. I’m worried, very worried. My son came home last week and told me the white man is responsible for the black situation because we created slavery. I was dumb struck. That idea was from school. When and how will all this end?

Soledad O’Brien gushed that Jeremiah Wright is fluent “in five languages”. How on earth does Ms. O’Brien know this? Has she actually heard Wright speak five languages? Of course she has not. If she heard Wright speaking in these five languages, would O’Brien be competent to determine whether Wright is actually fluent in each of the five languages? Of course she would not. Does she know what the five languages are that Wright is so fluent in? Of course she does not. O’Brien, who was being lazy, simply accepted Wright’s assertion that he (Wright) is fluent in five languages. Before Wright can claim that he is fluent in five languages, let him take the State Department test for each of these languages and let’s see how he does. Or how about Wright actually taking the SAT achievement test in each of these five languages and lets see how well he does in comparison with high school juniors. My guess is that Wright would not do very well. CNN is so lazy and O’Brien such a lazy reporter that when Wright made a ridiculous boast, O’Brien was only too happy to repeat it as gospel truth. She also said that Wright was “funny and witty”. Gee, Soledad, that was hilarious when Wright likened US Marines to the Roman Legions who killed Jesus. And it was really funny when he said the US government invented AIDS and implanted the virus in Black males. Just hilarious, right Soledad?
