Just wanted to say I agree with each of you: that the Islamo-fascists are determined to unleash their irrational hatred against us and for a myriad of reasons – based mostly on our support of Israel, and respect for humanity and human rights – but my point is that the MSM (Hollywood and major news outlets) are enabling “Sharia creep” into our society, by refusing to take a more responsible attitude in their presentation of American culture and for their complicit role in garnering Islam mainstream acceptance. They are, in essence, perpetuating a double standard that is allowing Sharia law backdoor entry into mainstream America.

For example, while Hollywood presents the world with a warped, violent view of American society and its place in the world, they take great pains to show us only the “smiley face” side of Islamic culture, mores, and values. To illustrate my point, look at the number of anti-Iraq war films recently released; they all bombed domestically, but we weren’t the intended audience. Those films were tailor made to appease Muslim viewers by making us out to be the belligerent villains and the jihadists to appear as “patriotic freedom fighters,” to borrow from LGM.

As another double standard example, take the way the women at that cult in Texas are ridiculed in the press and media – and by female reporters and pundits no less – for the way they wear their hair and their style of dress (I read where the Today show and the View were especially critical of the cult women’s fashion sense). But note how you seldom hear a peep of criticism from the press about the Muslim burqua or headgear. In fact, many female press members seem to have no qualms at all in donning the headgear to do a report from an Islamic nation, making it appear perfectly acceptable for Western women to wear such outlandish garb, even though it is an undeniable anathema to their supposed feminist sensibilities. FNC’s Amy Kellogg and ABC’s Diane Sawyer seem to always have the headgear on when they are doing a remote from an Arab nation, but I bet you’d NEVER get either of them in a prairie dress for a live spot from the Texas compound.

There is a double standard upon which “Sharia creep” depends for easy access to our society, and it needs to be called out!

Hm. You just know they’re going to demand an “apology” of some sort from Maclean’s magazine. I hope that there is no “settlement” of this matter unless it involves a public apology FROM the Canadian Islamic Congress.

You must make these Muslim attacks painful and costly for the attackers to end them. Make an example of them. Give them the same mercy they would have given you had they won. None.

The same mindset many of our modern era enemies have had of America as being weak as we are portrayed by Hollyweird. In the 1930s, 40s our enemies thought us weak due to the movies of the time showing Americans as only playboys, the hippie culture of the 60s, disco culture of the 70s, etc.

I will never submit/surrender to these 6th Century savages and I hope Mr. Steyn and the others being harassed by these Sharia creeps do not settle. It is time of the real hate speakers to be exposed for the world to see.

As my Grampa used to say, if you let a man kick you down once and do not do anything about it, he will just get mad if you do not let him do it again. Much better to stand up, fight it and get it taken care of the first time around.

No retreat, no surrender. I would understand if they accepted the offer of surrender I suppose but my hope is that they will tackle this vile serpent and lop off its head before it gets any bigger.

well, anti-cair did and showed they can NEVER sue in american courts thanks to discovery, so we’re still a step ahead of our northern brethern there …
