    My family came originally in the 1750’s and had to go to MD because horror of horrors they were Catholic. When the next wave came in the 1860’s they were taken off the boat and mustered into the Union Army in the famous “Irish Brigades”. In fact when my Great Grandfather was a young man in Chicago, his father paid an Irishman to take his place so his son could stay at home.
    When more came in the late 1880’s and early 1900’s they all came through Ellis Island. My Great-Grandmother’s sister was sent back to Ireland because she had TB. If I had come at that time, we would have had to make a decision as to whether we would go back as a family or split due to our “feeble minded child” not being allowed into the US. I have the TB germ and have been treated for it because I taught migrants when I was looking to teach full time. I would have also been turned away.
    This new group doesn’t want to assimilate, learn our language and history. These law breakers dictate to us what they want. I have to disagree with the Holy Father, these people committed crimes and they should be punished. Isn’t there something in the New Testament where Jesus said “render to Ceaser what is Ceaser’s”. I know it related to taxes but also to laws.
    Breaking the law is somehow lost in translation.

    I keep a list of such businesses and do not spend my money at them … Any additional businesses I see closed this year will be added to that list …

    Even those of you living in states that do not have employer sanction laws like we have here in AZ (or OK, GA and some others I am hearing about) can make a difference by doing the following :

    (1) Take notice of any business closed because they have no one showing up for work on May 1.

    (2) Spread the word to others that they were closed because they had no workers show up because of the marches.

    (3) Boycott these businesses and urge others to do the same until they stop hiring illegals.

    (4) As a result they will either quit hiring illegals or they will go out of business … they can pick their own path and future …

    Not sure about other illegal immigrants group, but legal immigrant’s dont bother much because majiruty of them are educated and understand the importance of English as the main language.

    The important reason they don’t bother in this case is because they have much bigger things to worry about. Even after paying taxes and social security, its very bureaucratic and troublesome to even a get a Drivers License for a legal immigrant because of various laws (eg: SAVE act) which are supposedly against illegals but have teeth only to effect LEGALS in wrong way.

    I agree with you, and I wish we had more Sheriff Joe’s out there with a real pair of steel to take care of business. But because the ACLU would sue for “racial profiling” because inevitably one or more of those detained would end up being a legal citizen born in the U.S. law enforcement will sit on the sidelines with their tear gas come May 1st and not do anything.

    It is the same tactic being used against Europeans by Islamic immigrants and is leading to Europe’s eventual destruction from within. Any “free speech” in Europe that can be construed as being “negative” towards Muslims is being prosecuted for “hate crimes”.
