Obama’s “big press conference” on Wright: “I’m outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle;” Wright’s remarks “a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth”
Scroll down for press conference blogging…Allah’s got vid clips here
What, pray tell, could Barack Obama possibly say now to undo the damage of his two decades of bad judgment about Jeremiah Wright?
Will he weigh in on black liberation theology? Wright’s phrenological discourse? How about Wright’s defense of his comparison between the Roman soldiers who killed Jesus and the US Marine Corps?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Maybe we’ll find out:
Obama was asked about Rev. Jeremiah Wright just now by a woman in Winston-Salem who tells the audience to watch his PBS interview, which will quell their concerns.
“I’m going to be having a big press conference afterward to talk about this,” he responded, then referred back to a story the woman told about a mother having to borrow month to get to work.
“This is diverting attention from the first story that you told,” Obama said.
So, he’s advising supporters to watch the Bill Moyers interview. What about the NAACP and National Press Club diatribes?
2:00pm Eastern. Here we go. Barack press conference is on:
“I’m outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle. The person that I saw yesterday was not the person I met 20 years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate. I believe they do not accurately portray the perspective of the black church. They certainly don’t portray mine. If he considers this political posturing, then he doesn’t know me very well. And I don’t know him well either.”
AIDS conspiracy: “Ridiculous proposition.”
Farrakhan support and analogy of Marines/terrorism: “They offend me. They rightly offend all Americans. They should be denounced. And that’s what I’m doing clearly and unequivocally here today.”
It’s antithetical to our campaign. It’s antithetical to what I’m about. It’s not what America stands for. Rev. Wright does not speak for me. He doesn’t speak for our campaign. I can’t prevent him from making these outrageous remarks…When I say I find these statements appalling, I mean it…Makes me angry and saddens me.”
Q&A.
1) Why the change in tone between now and yesterday? Obama: “I hadn’t seen it…He wasn’t just defending himself. He was presenting a worldview…What particularly angered me was the suggestion that my previous remarks were political posturing…”
Ok. Let’s be clear then: It wasn’t the fact that Wright has been spewing this same recycled crap for years that finally got Obama mad. It was that he finally realized it was hurting his campaign. And he was personally miffed by Wright’s insults against him.
2) What does this say about your judgment to superdelegates? “The person I saw was not the person that I’d come to know over 20 years…Shocked me, surprised me.”
Bullcrap.
Anyone with eyes yesterday saw that Wright’s was a finely-honed, time-tested act.
2:11pm Eastern. “Now is the time to pull together.” Refers to dire economic situation. “That didn’t matter to Rev. Wright. What mattered to him was commanding center stage.”
“I don’t think he showed much concern for me…or for what we’re trying to do in this campaign.”
3) Question: Have you spoken with Wright? “No.”
BO: “This has obviously put strains on the relationship” between Obama and Trinity Church.
“I want people to understand who I am. In some ways, the things Wright said yesterday directly contradict my life, issues, service, what I’ve said in my books, in my convention speech, announcement for president, everything I’ve said on the campaign trail. What I tried to do in Philadelphia was provide a context and lift up some of the contradictions and complexities in America and try to make something constructive out of it. There wasn’t anything constructive out of yesterday. All it was was a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth…It was a show of disprespect to me.”
5) Question: What did Michelle Obama think? BO: “She was similarly angered.”
6) Question: Do you agree with Wright that attacks on him are attacks on black church? How important is black liberation theology?
BO: “I’m not a theologian.”
But he’s the Obamessiah!
BO: “I went to church and listened to sermons. What I heard, there’s an emphasis on importance of social struggle, striving for equality, justice, fairness, a social gospel. Rather than fancy word like black liberation theology, he uses social gospel.” Didn’t view attacks as attacks on black church.
2:23pm Eastern. There have been unfair caricatures, but “yesterday, he caricatured himself.”
Obama says he tried contacting Wright before his Philadelphia speech. He was on a cruise. When he returned, they did speak. But Obama will not elaborate. “But what I can say is that I told him I found the snippets of past sermons inexcusable.”
“There’s been great damage” to relationship with Wright. “Won’t be the same.” Denies that Wright was his spiritual mentor. But he married Michelle and I, baptized my children, prayed with us, etc. etc.

Your Vote matters. So does Your Future.
A presidential candidate getting into a cat fight with his Pastor..Ooooohhh this is good!
I don’t think so. I think he is finally attacking this issue the right way. He should go on to say how infrequently he visited the church, and how joining and staying was a terrible mistake. The neocons on this site would never vote for Obama under any circumstances, so your reactions are predictable. I’d like to know what the moderates and independents think in the coming weeks. I guess May 6 will be telling.
If the Clintons had a Rev. Wright, he’d be 187 victim, though I’m mildly exaggerating.(I hope) Barack is no Clinton(which is generally good), but he could use some of her fight.
If any on you believe that Barack shares Wright’s views, I’d like to see some indpt. evidence unrelated to Wright. You know like a speech, an article…something.
I have a good friend from high school. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding, and she attended my commitment ceremony. We babysit each other’s kid on occasion. We love each other like sisters. However, she is a republican, and a commited Christian, who believes a snake spoke in the garden of eden, Jesus was born to a Virgin Mother, and dinosaurs never exited. I’ll just say I think she’s nuts, because I’m a democrat and an athiest. She prays for me. I’m sure some of you may have similar friendships.
Saying Obama believes what his Rev. believes is baseless, lacking in evidence and devoid of nuanced thought.
Lasly, yes you CAN choose your family. I have completely cutoff a couple of relatives as in “Dead to Me” cutoff. My friend I described is like my sister…is my sister, and I would feel really betrayed if she selfishly acted in the manner of Rev. Wright when I needed her most.

Mistress, did you read his book????
MistressJustice,
If you cut off your sister as in “Dead to you” cut off- then when would you need her “most” or at all? She’s dead to you.
Just an observation.
Typical Liberal Hypocrite.

…and, were he to do so, Obama would perfectly prove the miserable quality of his judgement and character. Twenty years out the window? And this, regarding a “mentor” whom Obama consults on major decisions?!
And finally, you cannot choose your family. As in your case, you chose later in life to end a relationship with someone from whom you were born (no choice), with whom you lived (no choice). Obama chose every Sunday to go to hear Wright again and again and again. Obama chose to follow and be inspired by Wright as a mentor.
Apples and oranges, kid.
Obama, the chickens have come home to roost & you can not close the coop door.

Max, I’m guessing that you’re a liberal. Would you listen to Rush Limbaugh for 20 years? If so, you’d be a conservative. Thus, we don’t need much more proof that Obama was buying into Wright’s tripe then his attendance for 20 years.
Does the term “too late” mean anything to this idiot?
The only reason Obama is taking this stand now is because Wright suggested that he (Obama) agrees with Wright out of the cameras lense, but privately supports Wright…Two self serving individuals who would like to use each other for their own personal gain. Pathetic!
I never cut her off…haven’t had a reason to. Get hooked on phonics.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE WOODS FUND WEBSITE?
I just tried to access and all links seem dead. hhhmmmmmmm??
The Obama campaign is reaching a milestone – the candidate has used the word “denounce” almost as much as the word “Change”.
Rumor has it that once the “denounces” exceed the “changes”, his supporters will switch their “Change” signs to “Denounce” signs.
Barak Obama – the candidate of denouncement.
Ol’ Rev. Wright joins Grandma under the bus!

I have no need for hooked on phonics. I have a college education.

“…I think he is finally attacking this issue the right way. He should go on to say how infrequently he visited the church,…”
Horse sh*t. He came to it, and he stayed because he agreed with it. He wrote an effing book about it! Why is this so hard? In your mind doing the right thing means lying about it? Devising a strategy to handle it? How about this-you walk in to that racist “church”, you listen to one “sermon”, and….you leave! Because it is so vile that you cannot understand how anyone could stay! Not Barry. He got married and Baptized his shorties there. This racist needs to step out of this race immediately..
Could it be that Obama’s meeting with Rev. Wright, after Wright returned from his cruise, included a discussion of how they could help each other? The Rev.’s actions over the past few days will serve him well with gaining a national platform for speaking and with publishing the book he announced. Obama’s denouncing the Rev. today plays well for his campaign. Both win. After the election they can maintain their association or not.
By his own words, Obama appears to have been a part of Rev. Wright’s flock for political reasons rather than faith/worship.
Obama’s claim to superior judgement doesn’t seem to be supported by his associations or how he’s handled the Rev. Since his political experience is so short and thin, there’s little else to go on.
Remember this as the precise moment when Hillary wins the nomination. Can you say “Unelectable?”
Good news for Hillary.
Better news for McCain.
What exactly is a neocon? Exactly. Aren’t they like former Dems? Are you calling all of us former Dems? Puleez. For someone participating on this blog, I can’t believe you have the nerve to characterize your best friend and Conservatives who inhabit this blog in such a way. I shouldn’t be surprised.
I’m a Conservative. In some folks’ mind on here, I’m not Conservative enough. I have a younger sister who is like you, a liberal and quite selfish. She was quite selfish to not take responsibility for a lot of the troubles she dragged my family into (drugs, alchohol) and decided to pretend it never happened. Are you one of those types of liberals who think personal responsibility overrated?
Needless to say, I’ve pretty much cut her dead. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if she suddenly happened on my doorstep asking for money. I don’t trust her as far as I can throw her. What the hell did your sister do to you that was so heinous that you cut her from your life? Because she’s a conservative Republican? Puleezzzz.
Yeah, we’re born with relatives we’d rather not know and later in life can disavow. I did that with my sister because she’s, well toxic. The inane, ignorant liberal thoughts that come out of her head just add to why she’s not part of my life. Politics can clarify folks’ viewpoint…. or not.
As to OY!bummer…if ya hang out at a black separatist church that preaches hate, get married and get your kids baptized by that church’s minister that is a reflection on YOU.
As to religion…I’m not very religious but judgment and character matters to me if someone like OY!bummer hangs with such folks… I do question their judgement.
And if you speak so lowly of long-time friendship, what does that say about you? Or your friend? I’ve had toxic friends who were just plain nasty to me when I married my military husband (they were liberals) and needless to say, those are two less toxic friendships I have to worry about.
Really… you judge your opponents so harshly (including your friend) yet you have nothing but hugs and kisses for a politician. Do you not see the contradiction in your spiel?
Now what? Michelle Obama has almost parroted Wright in many of her speeches. She has spoken about how “Mean” this country is, and how for the first time in her adult life, she was proud of her country. She is always just as angry as Wright, and as I understand it, much more was said by her.
BO long before we heard of Wright, refused to wear a flag pin, and wouldn’t place his had over his heart during the National Anthem, and all of this was dismissed by the MSM. Now he wants us to believe that this man that said, Wright was his spiritual advisor, his mentor that brought him to Christianity, that taught him everything he knows, has been totally ignorant over 20 years,20 YEARS, of setting in the pews, and listening to his “mentor, and teacher”. PULEEEEEZE!!
We’d have to disagree. I think family is how you define, and goes deeper than sharing blood. Obama could have cutoff his grandmother if he felt she was racially degrading. Obviously that wasn’t the case.
Now honestly, do any of you have any idea how often Obama went to church, or what sermons he heard? No. Are there sides of Rev. Wright that you’re aren’t privy to? Yes.
Qustion: Why are you only speaking out against “Reverend” Wrong now?
Obama: Because he is killing me in the polls that’s why! On top of that it looks like Hillary has a good argument to make to the Democrat Snobs (I mean super delegates) and that scares me. I thought I had this thing wrapped up. Now I have to answer questions and be held accountable, which is ridiculous!
Hey, where are Rusty and lgm and the rest of the Obamaniacs today? Where are the rants telling us what bigots and racists we are for not taking the Obamessiah’s word that he slept through 20 years of Wright’s sermons?
I listened to Rush for the last 20 years but I had no idea he was a conservative! When I found out yesterday I was appauled (Sarcasm off).
Obama won the Presidency today.
We are not allowed to speak of Rev Wright any longer.
Obama comes across as tough.
Rev Wright becomes richer. Best seeling book, etc. Plus he probably leads some new black militant group (maybe merge the Black Panthers and Nation of Islam)
From our family to yours, THANK YOU – for your husband’s service and your sacrifices as the wife of a military man.
Regards,
Perfesser
Emgem 24.
I never cut my friend/sister off, I love her dearly, and yes I think she’s nuts. I was referring to cutting off other blood relatives, for reasons that wouldn’t interest this blog. I thought I was clear before. I have stated on other threads that the Rev. Wright issue does come down to judgement, and it may sink Obama, but I just believe it’s asinine to opine how often Barack went to church, what sermons he heard, and what views he shares without evidence. I agree that this is an issue of judgement concerning associations.
That’s really the bottom line, and the real impetus for today’s press conference!
If you really don’t believe that Obama shares Rev. Wrong’s views than read his book, “The Audacity of Hope”. The title is from a Rev. Wrong sermon to begin with. Than throughout the book he writes about trying to get rid of his “white blood”. About the “rich white kid” at college and his “poor black friends”…at Harvard no less! There are full pages in the book that are basically the views of Rev. Wrong, but said in a less dramatic fashion. He is basically saying I am black and white, but boy do I hate the white part of me. He even through his own grandmother under the bus in Philly, long before he tried to do the same to Rev. wrong. Read his own book before you ask me again if I believe that Obama shares Rev. Wrongs views!!
Mistress-
It’s not asinine to opine one’s associations–especially someone who is seeking a position of power!
DagneyT – (#221) you said it much better than I. I agree 100%.
“I can no more denounce this racist loon than I can denounce the entire racist loon community! Oh, wait, that’s not right…..Actually, what I meant to say is that I hereby this racist loon that has been my spiritual advisor and friend for twenty years!”
but, but, ..he’s a great orator.
*snicker*
BO is lying through his teeth. They knew from the very beginning of Husseins campaign that he would have to distance himself one day.
This is pre-planned from day #1.
Did BO say he will not go back to that church? I didn’t hear it.
Don’t fall for the lie, remember he’s a politician.
Great BORE-OTOR, you mean?
When he speaks, *SNORE*
I agree with most of the posters here, especially #36.
What’s different between Jeremiah Wright’s statements two months ago and these last few days? Nothing. How come Obama only paid attention now? Is it because Obama found his numbers plummeting that he attempts damage control?
Unexplainable. Period. Too late!
Obama would not denounce Wright for his unAmerican statements.
But he will denounce him for the “suggestion that my previous remarks were political posturing”
Obama loves Obama more than (our) country America.
Obama is done.
Altough he will probably still win the nomination, he cannot win the general election. If somehow Hilary won out at the convention, there would be so much outrage from the Obama supporters that she could not be elected.
Melinda,
I understand you are college educated, and I keep making this assumption that you can read. But, Dexter Manley also went to college. What in the hell are you talking about???
I say.
You say,
Mistress-
Needless to say I agree. What give’s not enough sleep? On-line education?
P.S.
Don’t try to get all pious either, because you initially, improperly, called me a hypocrite, when your reading difficulties are to blame.
JohnS. I read both of his books. I read a man talking about is inner struggles in finding an identity. You should admit that there is nothing along the lines of Wright’s anti-American, racist views, or he wouldn’t be where he is as a nominee. I think you are in doing a little post hoc rationalization. Obviously the title of one of the books was inspired by one of the Sermons he heard. Why don’t you conservative sleuths find the transcript from that day’s sermon, and see if there is anything in it damaging to Barack’s credibility. Right now you’re all just guessing, what he heard, when, and how many times.
Another asinine apology for B Hussein Obama questionable character.
Don’t know, or care if you ever attended a black church mistress. (Here comes the Butt Monkey)Butt, white, or black preachers have a brand and their style is consistent from sermon to sermon.
For you apologists, this means that you pretty much see the character of the pastor everytime you sit in the pews.
Do the libs think everyone is as brain dead as themselves?
ahhhhhh, I come to snuff the rooster…good song.
I’ve had the misfortune of being raised in the church. My pastor spoke of political issues around election time, not every weekend. In 2004, that same pastor told my naive grandma to vote for Bush, to keep gay folks from getting married. I can’t speek for Obama. None of you can either, but have fun trying, opining, speculating, guessing, assumming…….gotta go.
Mistress-
I’m not the only one who failed to pick up that you weren’t referring to disowning your sister. Maybe you should be more clear?
Mistress-
I’m not the only one who failed to pick up that you weren’t referring to disowning your sister. Maybe you should be more clear?
Let’s not forget BarakHussein made a point to drive clear across town to TUCC when there are plenty of churches right in his hood.
With everything that has transpired over the past few days, I must ask the question – Is Obama naive, dumb or both?I finally got around to picking up the April, 2008 edition of Whistleblower magazine. One of the reasons why I had not read it sooner was because the title and subject is, “The Secret Life of Barack Obama.”
Quite frankly, I already have had enough news and information about that guy to last a lifetime! Besides, I thought that I was very well informed about all of the negative baggage that surrounds him. I have received previous information from Talk Radio (especially Sean Hannity’s show), Fox News Channel, WorldNetDaily, and various blogs like Michele’s. Therefore, I didn’t think that I could learn anything new about Obama.
I was wrong! When I opened the magazine, I skipped through the first few articles because they looked familiar to me. Already heard:
1. Is Obama the Messiah? (Of course not!)
2. NBC Admits Barack Bias. (No kidding!)
3. Swooning Supporters Fainting at Rallies. Fakery or fanaticism? (How about both!!)
4. Obamania: Giving Meaning to Liberal Lives. (Already wrote about that.)
When I turned to page ten, there was an article written by Jane Chastain called, “The Story Behind Obama’s Rise to Power – From state legislator to presidential candidate, with a little help from his friends.”
I settled in a comfy chair to read it.
There was a photo of Tony Rezko at the top of the page. I had already heard about him and his connection with Obama and the purchase of Barack’s home in Chicago. I knew a little about Rezko’s shady background and political deals from Hannity’s radio show. However, I did not know all of the details that were shared in Chastain’s article.
You can read it here, at her blog.
After you read “The Story Behind Obama’s Rise to Power,” please come back and answer some questions.
1. Do you think that Obama has been naively groomed as a political pawn?
2. Do you think that Obama knew exactly what was happening and he was (is) in on it all along?
3. As Jane concludes her article she writes,
How do you vote?
A. DUMB?
B. NAIVE?
C. BOTH?
D. NEITHER?
4. Jane then writes,
Agree?
Disagree?
Why?
Can’t decide?
In case you missed it, here is a link to The “Rev.” Wright’s Rant at the National Press Club.
Michele has covered Obama’s lame response quite thoroughly here at her blog. There are also lots of great comments here. But I still have some questions.
So, did Obama step out too far from those who placed him into political power? Did he get to “high and mighty,” by trying to distance himself from them? Is he now appearing to be too independent for their political tastes?
Note what “Rev.” Wrong said yesterday:
The word denounce is rooted in Bo’s past as in his good ounce of Hawaii Gold.
He is quick to denounce and must think we all smoke an ounce so we will not question the bounce we felt on the bus.
No, no, no, not Rev Wright under the bus, that was still just grandma, who caused that bounce.
“Just words” from the great Obummer.
The whole thing is a conspiracy by Hillary supporters to make the most-hated woman in America look good—by comparison…..OK, I’m kidding, sort of.
The GOP has such a bad candidate a switch by the Dems to Hillary could win it for them.

You got that right. This “denouncing” is so staged, it is actually embarrassing…
I dont get why everybody still calls him “The Reverend Wright” Reverend is a title that is attained through gaining honor and respect, and giving back honor and respect. He is nothing but a racist. His defense “to pick a few of his comments from over 20 years”, is ludicrous. He, and the fake reverend Sharpton, and the phony reverend Jackson et al don’t even deserve a capital R in their title, if they deserve the title at all.
Wright is his pastor and close confidant for 20 years and then, suddenly when his poll numbers drop – he denounces him.
No, nothing political here.
Nothing honest either.
The Rev. Wright is correct – Obama is just talking like a politician.
Heaven forbid that our future CinC sleeps through cabinet meetings the way he apparently slept through sermons for 20 years.
Obama – WAKE UP!!!! WAKE UP!!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha yowie! This is fun to watch. Obambi will NEVER be able to recover from this on a national scale and by disavowing his longtime pastor, he’ll probably get booted out office by all of his bigoted constituents.
And we get a bonus to boot. China bill and hil are being shown to be they parasites they truly are.
Thank you Lord!
This is really sad. Does anyone here have anything that Obama said or done in his life that would make you think that he agrees with Wright. Do you have any evidence that Obama was in the pews when he has said this controversial words? Do you remember what your pastor said in his sermon on Oct 2, 2005? Are all 6,000 members of the Trinity Church now disqualified from running for President?
I completly understand the outrage at some comments made by Reverend Wright. However to pretend that he sat up on the pews day after day just spewing these talking points is laughable. If you watched his entire Sermons you would realize that these statements were one line in a deeper conversation related to religion. In one he ever refers to it as a footnote to his sermon. The sermon is a small part of the church service. Obama denounced his comments, can we move on to issues that actually matter in this country.
freemind, do you believe in anything?
mistress, as someone who is an atheist I understand you wouldn’t know what it is to join a church and be considered a member for 20 years. let me explain as a person who has attended both black and white churches for many years. even if you only attend periodically, for you to attend periodically for 20 years that is saying you know the pastor’s viewpoints. a sermon is supposed to be the ‘weekly spiritual guidance’ you incorporate the word of God’s direction into the daily lives of your ’sheep’. A pastor is considered a shepherd and the members the sheep. You are teacher and leader the representative of Christ so to speak. For someone to attend more than one of Rev Wright’s sermons you would have to agree with what was being said, or you would dutifully grab your family and for their safety run like mad to the car and leave never to go into that church again.
i am presuming that because you are an atheist you would not understand the walk of faith nor the amount of the soul that the pastor pours out to his sheep during a sermon. you begin to know this person quite well after just a few sermons. part of the ‘art’ of giving a sermon is opening up your soul for others to read what Christ has put there.
My guess is, this Rev Wright needs a come to meetin’ with Jesus, cause he has never met Christ.
what kind of question is that faraway?
So we have a racist Reverend in Obama’s camp and a white supremacist in McCain’s. Other than Bill, who does Clinton have in her camp that’s really shady? There has to be someone.
Sad and yet expected, another B Hussein Obama apologist.
You asked if one could remember a specific sermon, hell sometimes I forget what I had for dinner the day prior.
Pay attention now, here comes the Butt Monkey. Butt, when a well educated knucklehead like B Hussein Obama has a 20 year association with a church and the alleged pastor of that church, he heard some stuff and knew all ’bout his rev.
Do like your handle and free your mind. If you’re an angry black; I didn’t put you in chains 150 years ago, and I didn’t give you your color. God did!
I have watched the sermons in their entirety and his sermons do preach the teachings of Jesus. In his famous Gd America sermon he preaching against the cycle of violence that we can fall pray to, their isn’t anything unchristian about that message. Where Wright goes wrong is his extreme POLITICAL views and warped sense of history. Strip away about 4 lines in that sermon and I believe you would have a different view of the sermon.
So this an equal kind of thing. What is McCain’s relationship with the white supremacist other than the fact the guy endorsed McCain?

Hey, weren’t you the guy that was defending Wright just the other day?
Watch, now that Obama has thrown Wright under the bus, all those media folks who were forced to defend Wright will now jump all over him. Just another round of playing
Simon“Obama says.”It is sad for the Democratic Party.
While it is convenient to suggest that others move on to more pressing issues, character, integrity and credibility are such pressing issues. Obama himself noted as much this past Sunday when he agreed that Wrght was a legtimate campaign issue.
Obama has no real record to speak of, either at the state or federal level (he dd get an award for voting present the most times), so it is imperitive for the voters to find out what the man is made of. Does he have the character to lead? Does he have the integrity to keep his promses? Does he have the credibility for people to believe what he is saying?
His past associations are very relevant, and Obama’s relationships with Wright, Rezko, Ayers, Dhorn and his card carrying communist mentor from Hawaii speak volumes about his beliefs and character. Hanging around with radicals tends to get you branded as a radical.
Add a Senate voting record that tops Ted Kennedy’s on the liberal meter, and you have to wonder how he is going to reach across the isle to effect change. Or his advisor’s comments about his Iraq withdrawal plan being nothing but smoke. Or his anti NAFTA rants being called campaign rhetoric in private.
The really sad thing is there are people here who continue to defend Obama, despite the ample evidence to the contrary.
There’s a white supremacist in McCain’s camp? In his camp?? THIS is why. Nothing is ever worthy of them simply saying “Ya know what? This is clearly wrong” and just letting it go. There is always a “but”; always an excuse for everything and anything. And that is why…

Wife – America is a mean country, can only be proud of America now that people are voting for her husband
buddy Ayers – I regret I didn’t bomb more American buildings
Obama – “typical white person”, bitter folks clinging to their guns, religion, antipathy towards people not like them, I had nooooo idea what my preacher was like (despite that his current comments are no different than the clips that came out earlier, yet Obama defended).
Is that enough?
“Strip away about 4 lines in that sermon and I believe you would have a different view of the sermon”
um, NO. you would have to strip away dozens of lines just to BEGIN to change the tone …
Yeah, yeah…”defined” like the way those deconstructionists did who wrote “Keywords for American Cultural Studies”…to include deviants from the national family (See WSJ review, 4/26-27, p. W9). Playing irresponsibly with words won’t make your fantasies any more real, “mj”.
and
Now honestly, “mj”, does any of what you’ve just rattled off have the slightest to do with the fact that Obama spent 20 odd years clinging to this Pastor, running to advice from this Pastor, looking for mentoring guidance from this Pastor? Or is it just more liberal diversion from facing uncomfortable, “inconvenient” questions which cannot be answered with Orwellian spectacles?
What are you talking about? I never said it was equal. I’m saying that it seems like each camp has its token screwball. Obama has Wright, McCain has Quinn, Hillary has Bill. Wright just happens to be the king of screwballs.
You, “mj”, should admit that George Soros’ Manchurian Neophyte Sock Puppet “wouldn’t be where he is” without the useful idiots of the far-left and their well-funded machine.
In 99.999999999999% of all churches using Gods name in vain is a sin. The rev not only said this, he said it in Gods house!
In your world, bad politics is much more of a sin than using Gods name in vain.
You can be an atheist all day long in America, and no one will care. Here comes the Butt Monkey. Butt, if you can’t understand that millions of Americans are upset about B Husseins mentor, then you’re a knucklehead like your Obamassiah.
freemind25 saith:
Do you have evidence he wasn’t?
Would you give Mengele the same latitude? There’s no evidence Dr. Josef Mengele performed vivisections on baby twins either. After all, according to the logic you use, he could have been a physician at Auschwitz looking after the welfare of the humble visitors and handing out complementary shower kits.
This is such a cheap, phony sideshow act that even the Dhimmis have to be shaking their heads. Even if this were real, WTF is B. Hussein so effing upset about? Wright said nothing new and certainly nothing that would cause Barry to toss him. This isn’t the man he met 20 years ago, huh?
The lesson in this whole thing is that America would indeed elect a black president. However he cannot be a racist, nor can he associate with terrorists, nor can he take part in corrupt real estate deals and be married to a POS who hates her country.
Maybe “The Freezer” can run next…
Meaningless words. Obama will kick his whole family to the curb to save his backside. He said what he had to say and it changed nothing.
No, I completely understand that people are upset by what Obama’s pastor said. I dont understand this guilt by association and I dont understand turning Reverand Wright into the devil.
Absolutly, everything that I have seen, heard, and read from him shows a man who has deep admiration for this country and a true desire to unite this country.
This nullifies me having a serious discussion with you.
You’ve deflected my question. Answer the question.
If you don’t understand guilt by a long term relationship, then you are truly special and need professional help that we can’t give you.
Try the Yellow Pages and look for “Psychiatrics ‘R’ Us”, I hope you recover from your sickness.
I guess by that logic everyone associated with Strom Thurmond including his children are racists.
Your question in itself is insulting. So Obama should be considered anti-American and a racist until proven otherwise? How about the white friends that he has. Have you read either of his books, if you have you would understand his deep passion for this country as well as his views of people like Farakahn and the Black Power movement.

We gotta stop feeding the trolls here. The only thing you can do with someone like this is stick them in a corner and let them count beans.

question — do they let people that completely delusional operate an automobile?
It’s a legitimate question. Do you have evidence that O’bama was not present in the pews to nullify guilt by association? YES or NO…
