I don’t want to go down a laundry list of Obama’s positions, but next time it’s the topic of a thread, I’d gladly discuss the issues with you.(note, SS problems are not an area of interest to me, but I should look to change that) I broadly mentioned above why I feel McCain’s Iraq policy is a mistake. Perhaps you missed the point of my post. I suggested that you might TRY to be the bigger person in the whole “insult” game – but no, you have insisted on continuing down that path. I can only conclude that you take some kind of perverse pleasure in provoking others into personal confrontation.

Call me lacking in courage. Fine. But you missed the point there as well. My statements on “courage” had nothing to do with facing a medical crisis. They had everything to do with my willingness to fight for something I believe it – the free market system in regards to health care. I invited you to debate that topic, as well as others (Social security, 2nd Amendment) and would still welcome an honest debate based on logic and reason. You have chosen instead to lecture me on the fine points of “I thought he was going to insult me, so I insulted him back first”.

You’re right. My last statement was somewhat childish – however, I used your thought process when I formulated that response: I was insulted, so I insulted back.

Like I said – childish. So no more personal insults from me. I would still welcome thoughtful, reasoned debate on subjects of substance and Obama’s stances on them: Health care, economic policy, energy policy, social security, 2nd amendment rights. How about it? You purport to be a public defender, can you defend Obama’s socialist stances on these issues?

There’s your challenge. I’m willing to admit that I should have left you alone in your insult matches and tried to engage you solely on issues. Are you willing to be engaged solely on those issues and leave the rest of it behind?

It’s official: Wright’s under the bus with Grandma. Poor Grandma! Wright deserves it.

Of course I remind you, Obama, Mr. Good Judge of Character, is the guy who tells us that he can sit down and talk with Iran and North Korea. Will he tells us for 20 years they are good guys too?

Over the next couple of years, the demographics of the apartments changed. Now there were large groups of young to middle age Hispanic men who spoke little to no English hanging outside your door in the parking lot. They spent a lot of time just standing around drinking beer, leaving beer bottles all over the place. Not exactly the kind of environment you want when you have a wife and small children.

You might as well be talking to tree. Nyk live in a “palace” and really doesn’t have that problem and could care less. But she’ll tell you you’re wrong, you should be multicultural and accept diversity. The Hispanics get drunk publicly and throw garbage on the street as part of their cultural heritage; how dare you show contempt for their culture. She’ll tell you all of this liberal tripe until it comes to her neighborhood.

I’m listening to Wright’s clips that weren’t played by the media. It’s an unadulterated 50lb sack of vitriol, flies included.

Truth be told, my (private) high school was incredibly conservative (and Christian). It’s actually a big part of why I chose to go to Oberlin for college. I think I’d have turned out liberal either way, honestly.

My point was, it is easy to hold certain viewpoints when you are removed from the situation.

Take someone rich like Ted Kennedy or John McCain. No matter what happens with the issue of illegal immigration, they won’t have to deal with the nitty gritty of reality.

Now contrast that with my experience. I lived in a certain apartment complex in a border state for 4 years. The crime was pretty bad. The apartment complex initially was filled with working class families and poor college students.

It has been my experience that everyone believes in something, whether it be God or something else. Many of those who reject God nevertheless feel the need to prove they are morally good. So you end up with people who say it is inhumane to enforce immigration laws, but it is the most noble of rights to be able to kill one’s unborn child. Views that make no sense and are completely detached from “reality.”
